Well ive ordered an m1330 from Dell in mexico and i was told the overall wait should be around 3 weeks... which is what i was told from the beggining.

But im afraid its gonna be longer because i think the US will be put in priority as well, eh, at least ill get it delivered by plane from the US so itll help.

At least its 100 dollars cheaper here than in the US, for some reason the LED panel is only 80 dlls here

Anyway i preferred the LED before the upgrade to 2gb ram cause i figured i could ask the rep to put 1x1gb on the slot and leave the other empty for me to put another gig, but i guess that can't be done >=( so im gonna buy a 2 gig stick and put it in one slot hopefully!

thank god I put the 1-800 number to check the status of my order as a speed dial on my cellphone... add some pauses... order number... and I got the status pressing one single key... ok... let's try once again... 150th time and counting... come on status... change... please?

 

I know, I know. I did select components on the higher end of the spectrum. Its all good, I was expecting to pay a bit more for this mostly all-purpose laptop.

 

OOh that reminds me to buy my 1330 laptop case now from hong kong now, to see if it arrives before the laptop.

mine came close to $2100.. after almost $320 off through EPP... some birthday money here, dell money from my previous purchase there ($50 with dell plasma tv purchase).. and now I'm officially broke... well... u cant have everything in life... sacrifice... sacrifice..

 

Maybe I should buy a cheap sleeve... hmmmm... but I dunno if a sleeve will fit with the laptop in the compartment... I guess I'll hafta wait.

i think i`ll go to sleep for.. erm... 19 days till its supposed to arrive. OH noo i cant do that i have to go on holiday in 17 days, DAMN! Oh and gone is the idea of watching dvds on the plane! I will have so much fun reviewing mine and my wife's inspiron 1420... I built the inspiron 1420 almost the same as the 1330, same processor, memory, HDD, video card... so both should perform pretty damn well!!! getting two new laptops on the same week??? how can a normal human being handle that much pleasure!!? HOWW??? I'd better enjoy the sunlight while I can since once I get my hands on those two beauties I will become a cave man...

 

LOL please do us a good review, heat, battery life, fans etc oh and maybe another you tube video? for the 1330 when it arrives!

 

hehe, your wife might take your m1330 and force you to take the 1420. that will nullify all your fun.

To change the subject a little, what cases are people looking at? I really love my current Brenthaven case that I had for my M1210, but unfortunately the M1330 is too big for it.

I kind of like this, but it's pretty pricey. Anyone got something like this messenger bag they found?

he he he... well.. my wife picked a sage green inspiron 1420 and I got the black 1330... i dont think she will want to trade... black is too boring for her... besides, she wouldnt want to put so much stress on our relationship... he he he... stay away from my 1330!! ... MY PRECIOUS!!!

Just a little request, when you review it can you take a few pictures of it sitting naturally on a desk? I haven't seen any pictures that show me how large it is in comparison to say a monitor. I'm not expecting a laptop to be bigger than a monitor but you know.

 

You could go to a mac store and check out their 13.3 laptops. Should be similar in size....

The inspiron is estimated to ship on July 26, so I should get it by friday 27!!! and the M1330 should ship out (if everything I have been told is true) by next tuesday... so by wednesday I should have it at home!! I will take a lot of pictures of both!!! I have never done any review but I will gladly take requests for tests and benchmarking...

 

Thank you all for posting. I have been throughly entertained and this has kept me from shooting the dog in despair (sorry Michael Vic refference).

Just got off the phone with the Dell guy (if you file a complaint online and do not get satisfaction they assign you a live human from India).

He said the factory works 24/7 building and shipping everything they make.

Gave me free next day shipping and $100 off my next purchase. M1330 still in build stage.
