    Still in build here too... and the EDD is the 25th so I am getting quite worried!

    Incidentally: 09:00 central time is 22:00 in Malaysia/China - perhaps that is when the shift changes?

    Well I think Dell sucks! lol I just called and spoke to my rep and she was VERY helpful when I placed the order, now when I call her, she rushes me off the phone and says, sorry I don't have anymore info that what is on the automated number. I said, well you said it would take 3-5 days to build and ship when I placed the order and we are working on day 6 without even going to testing, she replied, well this system is taking a little longer.

    If getting the m1330 fails, I've decided to gather a listing of other options to fill the void:

    * Toshiba Portege R500
    Extremely light @ 1.72 lbs
    Expensive
    * Sony SZ6
    * Sony CR
    * Sony C

    Any other possibilities?

    Are you in the United States? If so that's very unusual, I'd call Dell today! People placing their orders now are going into build almost immediately.

    I would call 800/999-3355 and see what a rep can do. Unfortunately, I don't think there is much anyone can do but wait. I was told that MOST M1330s would ship by the end of the month as that is the end of the quarter for Dell and they need to show as much money as possible. Ya know, SOP.

    They have my 3.1K as well, and are collecting interest on it. Meanwhile, my laptop is depreciating before its even built. Where is the justice in that? :p

    Yeah, I don't know about this Dell anymore. I am seeing so many complaints about the Inspirons, I am actually getting a little worried about the quality with such a high demand. If the turnover rate matched the demand, we all might be in a world of trouble, maybe it is a good thing Dell works at a snails pace.

    Just made my status call for the morning and my two orders are still in build and pre-production respectively. The Pre-production one ordered on July 2nd is really killing me though.

    Hello endless-wait pals... WOW... I haven't checked this forum since friday and already have to read through more than 40 pages!!! My god!! well... I wanted to let you all know that my M1330 shipped on Sunday (?) (according to the DHL tracking provided by Dell)... To my immense surprise the laptop shipped from SPARKS, NV... which is around.. hmmm... 10mins from where I live... COME ON DELL!!! I could have picked it up myself!!! So, I'm assuming I should have it today... but you never know... I will call DHL and ask if I can pick it up instead... Well... so far Dell's word seems to be true, and they ended up shipping my baby a month in advance... even though I have the LED screen... well... I will wait until a have the tangible object to let u know guys if they screwed up my order or if I get what I paid for... WE'LL SEE!!!

    Hang in there.. if this is true all of you may be closer than u think from your laptop!!! cross your fingers...

    Awesome! Be sure to post up some pictures and some color commentary on your first impressions. :) :cool:

    Edit: We need proof that the m1330 is more than just a publicity stunt.

    Dell does not need to ship to recognize profit for the quarter. Sale is done. It's already in their sales.

    I thought Dell does not charge people until they have the invoice slip ready and the unit is ready for shipment... They have yet to charge my credit card. Does this mean my order has been cancelled???

    Bummer, blah. What is your estimated ship date? Thursday is the one-month mark since I've placed my order. If the status doesnt change... I'm going to be frustrated. I don't expect to get my order early, but if it's not on time and comes after I've left the country I will be very annoyed.

    I think the problem here is that Dell can only move three laptops from build to testing a week. They should get a bigger factory.

    I hear ya. I am moving at the end of the month so if it doesn't change then, then I'm going to be really frustrated... call up Dell.. give them a piece of my mind... and change the shipping address. LOL.

    According to this: http://lordzero.org/dell/email.htm

    They halted production for a bit. No specs on why nor when it was halted (seems something was wrong in production).

    Has any1 gotten a call from Dell like I did?? I'm wondering if all this was an error and they are shipping another computer to me... the order # shows my configuration... and the tracking # is linked to that order... so.. it should be ok... but.. why have I been the only one getting a call from dell saying they will ship my system a month in advance??? :confused: THIS SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME!!! I will be so scared to open the package... well... I think I'll have to wait and see...

    I don't believe that production was halted. That makes no sense. If hundreds of people call reps, they are bound to get some stupid and/or dishonest reps who just make stuff up.

    Hello all, I am canceling my order with Dell and am going with a T61. I spoke to a Lenovo rep, who was very kind and not pushy with the sale. He provided me with excellent service. When I called Dell to place my order I was asked, how much money are you looking to spend, what was I planning to do, then the rep put me on hold for several minutes and came back to give me her suggestion on what I needed and actually put me over my budget. I, of course, did not order from this rep and went through other channels for placing my order.

    Lenovo has a lead time of 2 weeks right now. It may not be as flashy, it may not have the graphics but for $300 less, I can get a better warranty, better processor, better HDD and better build quality.

    I am looking forward to receiving my Lenovo Thinkpad.

    "One moment please" - status hotline
    "Your order will be posted in one moment" - sales rep

    etc etc

    One moment is equivilent to one month lol. MOnth MOment = similar, im sure we can understand! ;)

    I ordered my XPS M1330 on July 18 and the ESD is September 3 and like most of you i have been calling reps and customer service every chance I get. Yesterday I spoke to someone who looked sounded like they knew what was going on. I was told the part delaying many of the orders including mine is the graphics card. They say manufacturing is working very hard to get the shortage taken care of. Everyone is getting the nvidia upgrade and even though I am currently in the build stage my laptop is currently waiting for that part. Sorry, for the bad news, but build does not mean it has all the parts. Yes it is better than pre-production because your purchase has been acknowledged in Malaysia, but it could still very well be in kitting. I agree with the post earlier that they just pushed a ton of people to the build phase just to shut them up. Let’s hope they can just figure out the freaking shortages and hopefully once people do start getting their machines they can post the glory that we will soon be getting!!!
    At this point the best come for those who wait, so don’t get discouraged and settle for another brand. I had an xps m1210 and it was a solid machine, fast as hell and really sturdy. (sent it back within 21 days to get the 1330) 

    i hope that means they are acutally updating status's with the status line being down and all. I'm kinda of tired of being in the build stage... that only kept me happy for a couple days. They need to have like 20 stages, so it makes you think something is actually happening!
