yeah i hope it moves onto boxing some time soon, this is getting boring lol. I know its taking so long to build becausen of the processor..

 

Don't get too impatient. A lot of people here are still waiting since early July.

 

I'm just an impatient guy, my ship date could be tomorrow and i would still be complaining(I know i'm an A$$). If i was one of the people still waiting from a July order i would have had a hernia by now..

Hopefully yours is coming up soon, too. This wait really sucks... I can't imagine waiting another month and a half... It would drive me insane!

I wonder how much time until it gets shipped. Wow, I can't wait to get it!

so.. how long is the boxing stage usually? Does it go into shipping after boxing?

 

Man my package was suppose to be on it's way to DHL,(supposedly) but DHL says they never got it, only the waybill was generated for it. So long story short someone lost my lappie!!!! And just yesterday I spoke with Dell and they said it was going to be here on the 11th....No doubt in her mind is what she said. AAAARRRGGGHHH

 

How long did it take to go from boxing to shipped for you?

 

Like 3-4 business days.

 

My laptop was delivered today but nobody was home to sign for it dammit. I'm away at college so yea this sucks...and the damn dhl website said it wasn't gonna be delivered till Thursday so I couldn't have told anybody to go to my house and wait today anyways. Hope i can get someone for tomorrow.

 

wow, it takes three to four days to box it? crazy.. you'd think it would only take a couple hours to do.

 

That sucks! I live in an apt complex so if theres no one home they will just drop it off at the front office..

 

The reason it can take 3-4 days is Dell considers "boxing" the time until it leaves there hand's and is turned over to the courier.

 

ah, i see.. kewl then it should come earlier than my expected ship date great news!

 

i went into Boxing today as well! whohoo! cant wait.

Ha! i wish i could do that, i'm a forest firefighter and i'm pretty sure i'm gonna get dispatched again in a few days, That means i won't be able to play with my new comp untill some time in October

 

Ouch October eh? Yeah well your job is a bit more "serious" than mine. Being a audio engineer, running my own biz I usually can do whatever I want.

I mean 99% of my clients are burnt out rockers... Most the time they don't even know what day or time it is... LOL

But yeah, at least your job is exiting and interesting I assume?

Too bad I didnt see the firewire thread untill today. I prey my MOTU interface works, or else I'll have to shell out antoher 300 smackers for that echo one that was reported to work.... I was gong to order a RME fireface but that thing is so expensive that I would go nuts if it didn't work so I am now reluctant.

Very unlikely anyone else here has had the luxury to hook up and test a $800 or $1600 interface to see if it works. O well, we will see how the cookie crumbles... as they say!

anyone in canada familiar with how they are shipped? the csr told me it goes from dell in texas up to toronto, then to where u live (vancouver for me). its been 4 days now since its shipped, and on the purolator tracking, it still says its in transit in the US. So does it come straight to me? Or is it going to have to still go to Toronto which is at least going to add a couple days to my delivery date.

I ordered my black 1520 on 08/31 and had an ESD of 09/21...I checked the site today and it was shipped. I'm about an hour south of Austin/Round Rock so I hope it gets to me by Friday.

Man my laptop showed up yesterday, a whole 2 weeks ahead of when it was suppose to be delivered. The whole thing about it though earlier that day I had spoken with Dell and DHL and both claimed to not have, nor know where my computer was, for all intensive purposes they said it had been lost and that I would have to start the order process all over agian. I told the CS rep that this was unacceptable and unless I was seriously compensated for my inconvenience I would either be buying a hp or a mbp. The gentlemen served up a $200 disc. and a $100 gift card and he said he would have the order expedited, to this I agreed. He then asked if he could call me back so he could have some time to document all that had transpired. So 15 minutes goes by the CS rep calls me back and says know my order has been found and that it's on a DHL truck for delivery to my house. WWaaa, are you kidding? Sure enough magically it had re-appeared, and boy did I feel like a over anxious, pushy american. I simply could not apologize enough to the man(although I never was rude or demeaning to the guy). He said he felt bad for misleading me and that I could keep the gift cert. for a $100 and he'd take $100 off the price still also....GO DELL!!!!

Yeah and I must say the screen on this thing is beautiful I dont know what everyone is complaining about. I guess it just goes to show for the most part people only mention stuff when something is wrong not when there done right, we all just expect that.

Yup I have lived and been all over the US, Cali and the west generally bored me. Just something about out there, after a few weeks I was itching to get back to the east.

Took me years to get used to the heavy use of "wicked" and "beeah" instead of "beer". LOL

lol, yeah i know whatcha mean, my father and his brothers and sisters and all my older cousins have a really heavy Rhode Island accent. Boston/RI "Wicked" is kinda like California's "Hella" (Wich i hate when people use that word!). But yeah I hope we do get our systems shipped today, i'm dyin already!!

Hey, there's a bunch of us that got lucky and received our's in a much more timely manner than alot of people on here. I think there are still a couple people from july waiting to get there laptops.

You can find it under "My Order Status" on Dell's site. It will post up your tracking number once DHL EXPRESS GROUND gets your system. I don't know why we havnt been getting updated emails? Must be something else Dells trying to work out.

 

Hmm I got an email in regards to my order being shipped.

Guess I was lucky? Good too because some of the extra crap I got, are coming separately from different places. One order is originating from NJ, and the Lappy itself is in TN.

And yes Irish James, you seemed to predict that one well! Insider knowledge? Or just magic?
