Sept. 21 Ship Date

How about Irish Luck! haha.. My DHL truck is 2 hours away from me and not moving! How does this work? Dell says it will be here on the 18th? with Next Business Day Shipping?? The damn thing is 2 hours away from me BS, I'm about ready to drive up to the damn truck and snatch it from em

 

hmm i got the tracking number and called dhl they said my laptop would be here by 3pm 9/14! i'm excited

 

Mine too Its in fresno now, it should be here tomorrow morning Soooo excited!!

 

I ordered mine the 29th of August, and it shipped out the 13th! 8 days ahead of schedule!

unfortunately I'll have to wait the whole weekend without it getting here(booooo)

 

How do you know you have to wait the whole weekend??

 

Maybe they're just overexcited about delivering mine and they just brought the whole truck up to deliver mine

Although my tracking page still just shows "Shipment Acknowledged" in Nashville, TN. I hope it gets a move on soon!



edit: Oh, Irish, did you get NBD shipping? Mine's coming standard 3-5 day and says it should be arriving 9/18 - 9/20 (between tues. and thurs. next week)

 

Yes i got NBD shipping, The DHL site says that my package should be here around noon and it is now 8:30am...

I may get my 21st date after all as CSR said "You wanted it by the 21st, right? Yeah, it will arrive by then".

I Hope that's not fibs as I told them I'd cancel if it arrived AFTER that date.

Mine now shows two steps, in transit to and arriving in ohio. DHL's tracking page shows it with a scheduled delivery on Monday!

Yeah mine hasn't updated but I called the 1-800-call-dhl number and it told me they had picked it up, and my EDD is Tuesday. So I guess like with the dell status page calling the automated thing (for DHL) gets you a more detailed report.

I read a thread on this board about CSR lies, about how they guarantee dates of delivery which some base their complete order on (Like if you need it by a certain date, you won't get those coloured 1720s).

It was frightening to read exactly the same wording as what I was given about my 21st Sept date. (It's my unofficial EDD. Official is 25th)

 

well, it was shipped out on thursday, and I got 3-5 day shipping, and I dont think they work on Sundays, so I would have to wait until at least Monday...

click the traking number link to DHL, you can choose to be notified through email or SMS or both, every time anything happens during the shipping(very frequent updates for me so far...)

 

I tried to do the SMS notification, but I never got any notifications. There has been progress on my shipping, and I just signed up for both SMS and email notifications a few minutes ago, again, so we'll see if I get notifications this time.

 

Badass!!! I got mine yesterday too. No one was home to sign for it so I had to high-tail it to the DHL station to pick it up before they closed.

So far, so good.

my edd on dells site is the 19th but on dhl its the 17th, so maybe it will come earlier for you

 

How are some people's orders going through so quicky when people ordering months before are still waiting, for what seems to be the same specs?

YES! Mine arrived about a half hour ago! I must say the screen is amazing. It makes my friend's 9300 screen look like poop Now to try some benchmarks and gaming on it

My Sales rep keeps lying to me and tells me it will arrive friday even though it hasn't been shipped and it's still in production.

Just remember if it doesn't ship then they will compensate you. Not that it makes up for it not being there when they said it would.

it has been on the darn truck since 7 this morning

got mine today (typin this on it now). Looks good performs well.

Installed xp 64 off the bat, didn't even load vista once lol.

screen is fine no grain, and minor light leak, like 5 mm on the bottom. no noises at all, etc... I'm satisfied for sure.

Hi. I placed my order on 6 August. The specs I ordered are

Which was over £1200 my final total price was £1392 which included extra's like bluetooth headset/mouse and printer. My original est shipping date was 28 August then was delayed to 10 September and was told that it was now 20 September. I have checked out the Order Status website everyday and it has not moved from pre production to production yet and its 19 September. I phoned Dell yesterday (18/9) and they told me they would find out how far its gone but its been delayed again! Dell are supposed to ring me today and let me know what the new Est Shipping Date would be. I cant believe that I have waited over 30 days with 3 delays to be told that I wont be recieving for another 2/3 weeks. I am really dissapointed with Dell. I have not recieved any compensation or discounts like some people have. In fact at one stage the same spec computer cost £70 less and Dell also started offering 3GB Ram which would save me around £200 if I downgraded from 4GB but the catch is that I would have to canel and reorder which means more delays. In fact when I first placed the order I had to really ask for the discount I got. The actual Total price was just under £1600 but then the Sales Rep put me on hold for a few seconds before saying we can offer you a discount which was over £150. In fact I wanted a White colour Lid but opted for the black becuase the black was to supposed to ship faster. Also the black is supposed to have fingerprint marks. I have a PSP and LG Chocolate which both get fingerprint marks which is annoying.

Anyone else had another delay 2 days before Est Shipping date?

And do you think I should ask for any compensation?

I actually wanted 3GB because Vista 32 bit is supposed to only acces 3.25GB but at that time Dell did not offer it adn now they do. I have reservations about installing Vista 64 Bit.

hot diggity, got mine yesterday

it looks and feels great! the not flush lid is really the only thing bad I could say about it so far, and I dont even care about it!

 

My ESD is Sept. 21th, but the stupid thing is still in the build stages so I doubt highly they are going to have it out to me by then. Promises, Promises, Promises... here we go again! I really could have used this for school!!! I wonder what the are going to "promise" me this time? Its sad, my dads company is getting ready to purchase new comps for the office (normally 40-50 PCs at a time) and has been purchasing them from Dell for years. Looks like hes gonna have to look elsewhere this time cause hes more angry about the delay then I am. Boy Dell, you really screwed up this time!!!

haha, thats awsome man! I kinda like vista though... when i first got it i almost did the same thing as you but i said to myself "well.. I guess since its installed i could just check it out?" So i f*cked around with it for a bit and its kinda nice. Yeah it eats away at my RAM but i got 4gb commin in the mail soon from Newegg so it won't be a problem after i put those bad boys in.. I f*ckin love this machine tho! SO SeXy!!

 

i can't reiterate enough that, despite the problems people have been having with the displays, i'm still amazed by how good this screen looks
