Just got mine! Screen is pretty amazing, though font will take some time to get used to and/or adjusting. Still getting used to everything, in fact- but hoping to have a lot of fun doing so!
-
ill leave you guys and never call again....just like a one night stand.
-
I'll probably bookmark this forum for future use after I receive my laptop
I hope it'll come soon!
-
I'll probably hang around a little. I don't like staying around too long because then I'll know about all the new faster stuff and be disappointed with my machine.
-
-
yes but school starts soon so i won't have as much time to contribute useful complaints about dell.
-
There is definitely a sense of community on this site unlike most other tech sites I have been a member on over the years. I definitely think I'll stick around. I know I am waiting for this laptop so much that when I get it, I will look at it like it's an expensive guitar or a high performance vehicle. Something that just makes you feel special when you use it... I love my guitar, I love my car, I'll probably love my computer as much after all of this chaos!

Come with me. -
I will hang around. I understand staying around I will read about the new notebooks and get disappointed in mine to. Thing is...its already starting after reading xScorp1on's Order and Shipment dates for his Vostro. Sick.
-
never gonna deal with dell again after this
-
I would like to think I would stay. This site has a lot of good information. I suppose I would not be posting to the shipping thread anymore though. As for whether I will buy another Dell. Well that will have to be answered once I get my machine and it actually works well. So far I am leaning towards the not.
-
Buck and Dur: congrats on getting your systems! I'm still in the build stage as of this moment. :/
For those sticking around, that's great, people can always use the support on here! -
Thanks, hap. I assume 9/7 wasn't your original ESD- what was it? I see you got the free 1-day shipping...have you tried for anything else from Dell?
-
that means they CARE about your business. there are many options for notebooks these days, a person can go into an electronics store and walk out with a pc but trust me ...that is not the best way to save money(if you are on a budget)
i rather wait a couple of weeks and save 200$ which will help me get an ipod finally lol
edit: i don't mean to be harsh or rude but im just expressing my opinion towards recent discussions about dell....and no im not a dell employee lol -
well, i dunno, i won't be here all the time like i am now but i think i'll come around every once in a while to see what's new going on in the techno world, and to see if i can find out how to bump some more FPS out of some newer games when i get 'em......
-
I just wanted to reach my 250th post in this cozy little thread. That's it, nothing else to see here, carry on, everyone...
-
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!! LOL! -
I had to laugh here. It actually will be my birthday by the time I get the laptop, assuming it ships on time. I don't normally get myself such elaborate gifts.
As for the forums, I've been reading the reviews for a couple months trying to get up on what's out there and worth buying, etc, and I know I posted somewhere awhile back about a problem I had with a Dell that has since ceased to function (screen problem, I believe).
For now, I appreciate the support and insight here to the long wait. I would be much more frustrated if I didn't know there were so many going through the same and worse. -
I found this site because of Dell's problems, and to be honest, this looks like a really good forum, so I'm sticking around! Ruby Red 1520 ESD 10/2

Does anyone think we can keep this thread going as a sort of general "my new Dell notebook" conversation? I could start by posting my impressions on my new 1720- not a review or a question, but just my general thoughts on the notebook to get the conversation started. Is that silly? -
Wow!!! this thread died!
-
i'll stick around to talk people out of ordering a Dell product.
-
Why would I want to leave this forum? I think we are all building up a reputation here just by posting this much in this forum, and it would be akward to just leave after we get our things. I will continue to check this site out when I have the time and help answer questions. People gave me support when I was here; I feel that it is necessary to give back to the community just as they gave to me. I've certainly met a lot of people on this forum, and I feel this is a friendly place to share or receive information.

You're a towel!
-
Naw man, the minute I get my laptop I'll post that I got it and I'm out.
-
Douche....
-
Actually, I'll probably be back here to ask a few questions or answer someone elses who doesn't have theirs yet, but after a week or so I don't see myself staying active =/ -
I have stuck around since October, got my 1530 in Jan, so yeah...I will be here for awhile..I likes NBR alot
-
I got mine last week. I'm still here
-
Still reading the forums...had my lappy since Feb...I have learned a huge amount from all you guys/girls on this forum...and always try to keep up with the latest..hence my current purchase...cheers and keep up the great advice and info...thanks all!!!
-
Ill probably stay here (not that it matters as Im the hugest noob evah)
one day well sit there in our rocking chairs while our grandkids play on their supah advanced laptop and well say " I remember back in the day we Had to WAIT to get our laptops back in the great shortage of 6 cell batteries...you younguns and your 34 cell batteries" -
lol!!! no doubt I am still trying to figure out how to work the ps3....the easier things get..the more complicated things get...sigh...
-
Haha, it's funny looking back at this post and seeing my name there.. remembering all those delays that i had to go through. It's been about a year since I got my Inspiron1420. I've gone through the delays, the faulty parts, the countless hours on the phone via dell "support" and many other frustrations.
Last week I chatted up a dell rep to send me a replacement due to the laptop not functioning correctly. I believe it was the 29th. I went with them sending me a replacement instead of sending my laptop in firstoff. Laptop came yesterday (before the "10-14 business days" that they said), which surprised me. Not only that, but as I was looking at the specs, I noticed the processor was upgraded. I originally had a T7100 1.8GHz processor, but Dell sent me a T8300 2.4GHz one instead. First time that I'm actually HAPPY about Dell (probably a huge trick and this laptop will die after I post this).
Now, my complete care is going to expire on the 12th of this month and I planned to renew it a year because of all the problems I've had. But, now I'm having some second thoughts.. do I risk not renewing and watch the laptop die the day after? Do replacement laptops have that 30day warranty added to a previous warranty or is that only when you first order? -
I'll most likely stay, as this community is GREAT.
So, ya gonna stick around after you get your Dell?
