I have a slow hand, so I will keep my hand on the trigger for the toshiba while keeping an open mind about trying to wait for Dell to update their systems!

Hopefully tmr, and I am sure that a lot of people wouldn't hate them if they released them on a weekend instead of on monday at this point.. :p

Well in here it's already friday at 8:30 Am, but since US is quite a few hours behind us, I have to wait a bit longer :)

Considering they just launched linux flavors of the M1330 and are going to be releasing it for the M1530 in August... were most likely not seeing an XPS refresh anytime this month.

So was I, i figured with new deals starting today they should have updated their laptops but nothin...

lol, i've actually waited for a long time if you think about it. I bought my new laptop (a vostro 1710) about 2 months ago which I returned a few days later, went back to my old one. A few weeks ago I got my 2nd new laptop, an m1530 which i also returned after a few days so i once again went back to my old inspiron 6400. i think i've been pretty patient :) but at this point i just want a new laptop... :D

LOL going through ordering 2 laptops and returning both is patient? :p

I have been waiting since the start of may. I didn't know about Montevina then, but that's about when I started looking out for what I might get.

Yeah I also wasn't thinking about montevina at first simply because i didn't want to wait too much longer (that was a bit more than 2 months ago) but at this point i really don't want to buy a non-montevina laptop because they're already outdated. Oh well i'm still looking...

Yea I know what you mean. I like to keep as close as possible to being current with new technogoly so buying an older system with the new Montevina laptops out, to me, is pointless. I will probably go with another computer brand also because it doesn't sound like the current XPS line is going anywhere now that they just implemented Ubunto in the current line...

My thoughts exactly... I would definitely give dell "preferential treatment" when it comes to my new laptop because i've only had good experiences with my current one as well as with dell's customer service... but i figured if they can't deliver i have to go with a different brand especially because i don't know how long i have to wait. If Dell at least told me they'd release their updated laptops in 2 weeks or in 4 weeks, i might wait but it could be 2 or 3 months for all we know

@ CeeNote: Same here too...My family has bought 4 systems from Dell and I haven't had enough problems with any of those systems to make me want to switch to another brand. I am currently using a E1505, two years old this mid-august, and I love it, but my mother would like a laptop, and I want a new one for gaming.

@ Cin': LOL we tried really hard last night. (you must not of been persuasive
enough when you called them.. :p)
I am pretty sure that is not a word, but for this forums sake and for the sake of keeping a positive attitude, let's just say it is. :) We can continue to keep the "positivness" going in hopes of a great Dell update :)...

Dell is behind because they like to sit around and watch us squirm... :p
Really, I am not sure why they want to be behind. Some say it's because all the new systems out are only on pre-order and others say its because they want to be last so people get the full effect of them releasing new laptops instead of being covered over by other new laptops if they released right away. The sad thing is, some people have also said that their may not even be a refresh coming for Dell...

Cin's right, this waiting game is no fun for anyone, but the both of us are still keeping a positive attitude about it... :p

what's annoying is that we're really shooting in the dark here trying to figure out what Dell's up to.... can't they just confirm that something is in the works!??! I don't even want full information on their 'new lineup', just an idea of whether or not something is eventually going to come out; I need motivation to continue waiting. aaarrgghhh!!!!!

What they can do, and what they should do is get out a Press Release or something stating: This is the expected release >insert date>..and will update when closer to that time ;) :)

Dell seems to be doing things the Apple way. No word on updates but one day, the Dell store will go down with a post-it note, and BAM!, the new laptops will be up for sale! :p
