Just received an e-mail that mine shipped today with 2nd business day delivery. Finally! Since tomorrow's Friday, does that mean Monday??? Has anyone who has already received theirs succeeded in getting a credit or compensation for the aggravation of having to wait so long??? I was told that I can't request a credit until after I receive it because it won't charge to our account until it ships. They said to call back after I receive it. I just wondered if anyone else tried this.

 

Oh no!!!!! That really sucks - I'm sorry! How does a computer that won't even boot get through testing? It just doesn't seem like packaging and shipping would kill the motherboard. If that were the case, every laptop I've ever used would be dead. I hope your replacement shows up quickly!

I talked to customer support today - turns out I get a $50 coupon for my delays. I hope you get a lot more than that!

 

Mine went into boxing. Maybe I will get it next week sometime.

 

Wow I ordered mine on the 27th, exact same config. Maybe there is hope I will get mine soon.

 

It finally SHIPPED! It's supposed to be next day delivery but the est. delivery date on the dell site says 9/12-14? Does DHL ship on weekends?

 

The Estimated Delivery on Dell's site, from my experience, defaults at 3-5 BD. Check DHL or the carrier's website for the accurate Delivery Date. Mine similarly stated 3-5 BD expected Delivery despite the fact that above it said Next Day. Lo and Behold, the DHL site said that it would arrive next bd which was today. Thankfully, it did. Hopefully, it is not DOA like Crashcart's.

 

I hope you get a good one, NewLaptopBuyer. It's frustrating to wait as long as we have only to receive a dead unit. Good luck and hope you enjoy it. The green is great, by the way. I love mine.

Sure wish mine would do something one day. Doesn't seem like it will. I wonder if they forgot about me. Ok, so 53 days it's been so far and it seems my ESD have been pushed back to Sept. 12th.

 

Thank you , thank you. My fellow DELL consumers. I gratefully acknowledge that without the help of DELL I couldn't be sitting here, acknowledged as the oldest Inpsiron 1520 order to ever be received. Without the many inept buyers and sourcing personnel at DELL, this dream couldn't have been achieved. I set out on 7/9 to make a name and record for myself. Little did I know what it would take. I sent emails to high level DELL people pleading with them to delay my order so that I could gain this honor. They responded so kindly by telling me that they'd move my ESD 5 times before finally shipping the unit.

Now I don't feel so bad, someone who's been waiting for 60 days and hasn't received their's yet. Though, I would figure something should be happening one day. As far as the Dell website shows, there are not delays on the Spring Greens anymore. So, maybe we'll all get lucky soon.

 

After delaying till 9/28 I got notice that it's in shipping today.

Mine should be here any minute....... (looks at door) I can't take the anticipation!!!

 

Noticed that my estimated ship date is now 9/17/07 as of today. I guess they only realized it would not be shipped on the day they estimated it to be shipped. Knowing this a few days earlier is not possible. Dell has it so tough.

 

My Spring Green 1720 was not scheduled to ship till 9/19 and it is showing shipped today! Tracking number confirmed with DHL!!!!

 

Yeah, seems my new esd is 9-17 as well. Kind of sucks. Thought maybe I just might get lucky. Oh, well more waiting.

 

I just got my green 1520 today i Havent had much time with it but its so nice to look at! I ordered mine on July 8th.

 

Got another estimated shipping date just a few minutes ago. My newest ESD is 9/30/07.

 

WOW.. seven ESDs!! I don't even know if I could bear it.

 

I got mine yesterday, and I'm typing on it right now. So far I love it although I think the screen is just slightly grainy, but it's not that noticeable.

 

After waiting a month and a half for a computer I really wanted but one that never made it out of the build stage I decided to find a comparable deal. I bought a new HP instead, a special edition they came out with. While it isn't the green machine I had been dreaming of this computer has certainly made my day. It was less expensive and came with a few added perks that I was not going to have on my dell plus it's still a little different (white with an interesting design embedded in the back of the monitor). I've been enjoying the new machine for a week and a half now and don't regret my decision to cancel my order with dell.

The sad part of the whole ordeal is the trouble I had with customer service with trying to keep them from canceling my order. One day I spent nearly an hour with them trying to get them to confirm they were not going to cancel the order like the e-mail stated after the 4th delay. When I called to cancel the girl asked me why I was canceling and I said because of the delays and she said give me two minutes. A minute later she was back on with the cancelation and I already had an e-mail in my inbox confirming. It's sad that the easiest part of the whole ordeal was letting them know I was no longer interested in owning their product.

Those of you waiting 1.5 + months for your Dell, DON'T! There are other computers out there that you will be just as happy with, if not happier, and won't have to wait a lifetime for them. Just do your research before purchasing. Good luck to everyone still waiting. I'm so glad I'm out of the Dell waiting game!!!

 

Yeah, canceling after 57 days would seem kind of stupid. I mean, if I cancel now, the wait would seem pointless. Sure, I could use that money to get another computer, but it's just not the same. The obvious fact that I won't get a green one unless I wait, which the only reason for getting this laptop was because it was green. I could have went with a blue Sony Vaio, it would have been fine enough for what I use it for. Now if I was only on day 30, then I may consider canceling the order. But I will continue wait, for once this computer comes, it will have such an interesting story to go alone with it. A story of waiting, and the many that have waited for them. And that will almost make it worth the wait.

 

Arrived today as ordered and it is very nice. I hope the best for everyone else

 

Sure, hope I get mine sometime. I noticed that it doesn't show anything causing delays on the Dell site now. So maybe it's good news.....

Well I ordered it yesterday (13th September)
and the estimated delivery date according to the lady at the help desk is October 2nd. (She said ''Possibly'' sooner)

I think its pretty good compared to everyone else but still it shouldn't really take that long for a laptop.

There are no shortages on any of the things im getting so there shouldn't be a delay from the October 2nd date.

It's been awhile since someone posted on here, I just had to do it. Anyways, my laptop finally came today, after 78 days.

 

I sure hope it doesn't give you any problems after you waited that long for it.

 

Yeah, I'm kind of worried about that. Though, I won't actually get to try it out until this weekend. I'm at school right now, so hopefully everything will work fine.
