Dunno if anyone cares, but I got an extra 4 cell battery for $69. Someone popped up on ebay selling them for $92, used live.com 25% cashback and had $23 something pop up in my paypal account instantly. Seemed like a good deal for a new battery. I know someone said they got one from the outlet, but I don't know what they paid.

Also, I don't want a 6 cell battery, I don't want it purtruding from the back of the unit and I don't want any extra weight, 8 cells total is enough for me.

I posted about a 6 cell because I know a lot of people are waiting for one. I get over 3 hours with my 4 cell, for me 3 hours is the sweet spot.

im so tempted to order my mini right now but i want to wait for more colour options.

Ive also been looking at mydellmini.com and found a bunch of mods i want to do to mine, but while surfing and browsing i noticed that the mini does not support a agn wireless card? by that i mean there isnt a third wire for it like in my 1520.

Does this mean no N for the mini?

Is this the auction? I don't see anywhere anything about cash back except for when I searched thru live search. It said cash back, but didn't mention anything for that auction. I also have a 10% off coupon I'd like to use.

Saw a little kid with a mini 9 at a resturant yesterday. I really wanted to look at it and ask him what he thought about it. Chickened out. Or maybe I was just weighed down by the home fries and 2.5 cups of coffee.

Anyway, it was definitely pretty cool.

Probably not younger than 8, or older than 12. I can never tell anymore. It was a black mini also. Wonder what kids will be playing with in another 10-20 years.

    I'd wait too.

only thing i dont like about the outlet lately is that they're always with xp instead of ubuntu so the price is higher then it should be for the specs.

I want a 16gb ssd but 4gb if an upgrade is cheaper then just buying it with a 16gb

i also want a webcam, bluetooth and ram i can always add myself.

I upgraded the RAM in my Ubuntu Mini 9 this afternoon, from 512 to a Gig. Surprisingly, it has made a noticeable difference.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like this thing is blazing fast, now. There is a little less waiting around, though.

I'd say it was fifteen bucks well spent. I'd highly recommend anyone running an entry level Mini do this upgrade. It's cheap and it makes a difference.

can you redo the kernal on the factory ubuntu to see 2gbs? or would it be easier just to install 8.10?

would have tried the 25 for 2gbs! but you have the dell ubuntu...

Do you think 2gbs would be noticeable from 1gb?

Frankly, I don't think it would make that much of a difference. At this point, I'm not even coming close to maxing out the gig.

I guess if you're going to really test the multitasking capabilities of the device, it would make a difference. But, then you'd be taxing the rest of the hardware.

Personally, I'm not that concerned with heavy multitasking on a netbook. Basically, I surf the net on the thing, and that's it. A gig is sufficient for this type of use.

Not that it made a difference in this case, but I tear down electronics for a living. If I couldn't quickly change out the RAM on a notebook, I should be fired.

Anyone could install RAM on one of these things. It's just two screws and a hatch. It's about as easy as it gets.
