Testing 1-2-3, Testing 1-2-3 !!!!

Trust me, it doesn't.

 

Well, obviously this is a coincidence, but this morning I emailed Customer Support via the form on their web site. I'd not done that before. I very politley asked if someone could check the true status of my order. I explained that I had a severe time constraint (OK, I lied) and that I needed to make a quick decision whether I could wait for the Dell, or if I needed to seek out an alternative vendor. (I didn't specify the Asus M50sv-a1 though. ) I thanked them profusely for their assistance in checking this out for me.

Two hours later I was in testing, and one hour after that I got a return email saying that, never fear, my order was in the final stages.

Now, I guess don't really believe that any lone CSR has the sort of power to propel my order through the process that quickly. Still, it was a funny coincidence that it happened like that. Karma, perhaps.

 

I hate you. I hate you all.

Most frustrating to me is that as resident of Canuckistan I can't use the hotline and my online order status says estimated shipping date of last friday.

Damn you Michael Dell, you better watch your back.

 

If it makes you feel any better, I just broke my personal best on Through the Fire and Flames in Guitar Hero. That's gotta lift your spirits some, eh?

I do feel your pain though. It's very frustrating. It's not just the wait, but the lack of any information that drives you nuts.

 

I seriously don't understand what the hold up is. Sheer volume? the battery plant fire in Korea? Incompetence? Memorial day in the states? Understocking of parts?

I understand building time is one of the prices of customizability but I wasn't expecting this.

It gets worse, my GF ordered a 1420 two weeks after me and got hers today... The level of gloating thats going on right now is painful to the spirit.

 

Its all because of sheer volume I bet that is the biggest factor. In terms of how supply and demand works, the M1530 is in high demand, yet Dell continues to throw up 25% off coupons.

 

Well, just let her gloat now. When you get your sexy, sleek M1530 (Ferrari), it'll make the 1420 look like a Ford Taurus. Then show who's boss!

Kitting means they are gathering all the parts together to get ready to build it. Kitting is the stage right before the build stage.

 

That means that they are getting all the crap together to make your laptop.

Then they said you were in the unboxing stage.
Then they said you were in the untesting stage.
Then they said you were in the unbuilding stage.

Then they claimed that you never ordered an M1530.

Ok. Then explain to me why my laptop hasn't shipped or done anything yet, but others have shipped already.

 

Are there multiple build facilities for XPS laptops? If so, I wonder if the parts situation could vary a little from one factory to the next?

 

So apparently I got stuck at a factory that doesn't get part shipments too often. Lol.

 

I'd think they'd all be in the same area...

who ever got colours is more likely to take long i ordered mine in Flamingo Pink first and then the next day decided to go with the alpine white im not gonna wait 5 years just to get a laptop cuz of the color and plus Alpine White is hotter i mean its Glossy and classic HOT! but yeah mine better come soon im not joking OR ELSE!

What the hell, I emailed them late last night and got a reply that everything is in order and my laptop will be shipped today. And yes, I am still in the build stage.

 

I just checked; Yes, I am in the Build stage. Oh well. It's not over yet.

LoL then if yours is getting shipped then i should have mine this week i only got the inspiron 1525 in alpine white with integrated webcam why is it still in building stage its been in that stage for 6 days so far common whats really going on?!?
