I was hoping that I wasn't really going to be part of the club BUT here I am!
I learned this morning that even if the system says that I've been "In production" since 08/07, the actual production is planned for September 1st...
Dell really has a way to make thir customers feel appreciated. -

Estimated shipping is somewhere between Aug 30 and Sep 4 depending on who I ask, and the estimated delivery has held steady at Sep 7, so I'm just in the club. I hope this is accurate, because at one point a CSR told me it would be more like Sep 17-19 - but they seem pretty confident now that it will go into production within a week. Fingers crossed.

I just received an email response back from Dell support for an email that I sent 08/11!!! What follows is the helpful response to the question I had asked:

I'm hoping for good things for the 8/28 people and maybe more tomorrow. I'll know if they get delayed again then I can be waiting as well.
My attitude has been that they told me 5-6 weeks beforehand and did mention many of the features would delay my shipping date, no way they can make someone wait 6 weeks and then delay again.
Just don't know where else I can find something similar for a similar price I will like.
3 weeks went by really fast, and 3 more weeks will go by fast....I just don't believe I will be delayed. I'm not cancelling though. Already have waited so long, might as well go the distance.
good luck guys in getting your dells. hoping for the best.
I really don't believe the Sonys or the HP's or the Toshibas are any better, and how else can I build the PC I want? I know I'd love a new Apple to go with my G4 Tower I already have, but it would cost me more. -

Well my move from the 8/28 club to the 9/5 club at least boosted my compensation from $50 to $100. It's worth it IMO but this is beginning to get really frustrating. I can't wait patiently too much longer, this puts my wait time at 6 weeks.

But I would imagine a 9/5 would go to 9/12 then to 9/19 and so on till they finally get the week right. -

If you had to agree to the new shipping date and have been offered free 1 day shipping, you may want to call in and verify that 1 day shipping is still on your order. Mine dropped off and I had to get it added again by a CSR.

Wow! Two delays in one day. I checked status this morning to find that I had been delayed to 9/5 and just checked status again this afternoon to find that I have been delayed to 9/10.

Me too.
I got a second email this evening telling me that my system was delayed to 09/05, so I called Dell again to make sure that they don't cancel my order. The CSR told me that they accidentally sent everyone (even new orders) a date of 09/05 and my actual date is now 09/10.
Sounds like a lot of folks in the 09/05 club can expect to be bumped to 09/10. -

9 fricken 10! I called & complained, they gave me $50 more for a grand total of $100. I don't know if it's worth it, I needed the computer because I started school this week.
