That is a good sign. When you buy the laptop they automatically stick you in build, to make you think they are actually doing something. After they get all the parts in, the "Kit" the parts, and then you actually move into Build but for real. After that you're off to boxing! Congrats!

 

Just got off the phone with a supervisor.... my 09/10 ESD is more likely to be 09/20...

I don't know what to do anymore *cries*

Interesting...I ordered a spring green 1420 with similar specs on the same day as you and right now it's in boxing (3rd day now). My ESD is 9/7. The diff. in your spec and mine are:

1440x900 TL
T7300

Also, I'm in US.

After getting the dissapointing 9/5 email, and looking here to see that it would likely become 9/10, I call the order status number and I've been moved all the way to the testing stage!

 

Got the 9/5 delay email but i've been moved to boxing. ordered 7/26

 

Just got off the phone with CS - Original EDD was Sep 7, and online chat told me it was likely to go into production this weekend and ship sometime next week - but now I've been told that production is actually scheduled to start Sep 7, with delivery the week of Sep 10-14.

Sigh.

 

any advice in how to chat with dell without waiting to long?

 

do it in the wee hours of the morning, you'll walk right in (that's also when I was offered $50 compensation without asking for anything)

Apparently my 1721 liked it so much there it decided to go back.

yep.. that happens... just few days ago dell started to act quick with recent orders. Its kinda confusing, they can last 2 months on a lappy or just 6 days.

hope that happens to my =P

 

I hope mine at least goes into Testing soon, although I'm sure it'll be delayed now.

 

Mine just shipped out. Was scheduled for 9/04. (Green 1420) Only thing is they sent it dhl express ground when I was upgraded to next day. wtf. That ever happen to anyone else?

 

Yes, thats what happens. They will tell you that they upgrade, but you'll see it doesn't show in your order status, so you don't get it. I have chat logs of two reps giving me free nbd shipping, but my account does not reflect it and the rep on the phone today said that I'm not getting it, because I didn't buy it, and that if I had checked the online status side carefully I would have noticed that my ESD is 10/1, so there is no reason to call them really.

 

I chat with Dell and I wanted my 15 minutes of my life back. Dell XPS sales got no clue and don't care about post sales' customers. He got all excuses of not having order information or status.

Dell needs to improve post sales' support. What happens if all people who got delay decided to cancel all the orders....will Dell take a revenue lost?

so I'm sitting here and all of a sudden I get an email.
My computer has been in production since July 17th and now it's shipped!

 

That's really lousy, I'd take that up with a manager. Sounds like we need to be asking for case numbers when promised these things for proof.

The next day delivery does show up in my account, so it sounds to me like anyone who doesn't have that reflected in their order status better ensure they're getting the compensation they were promised before the shipment is completed.

 

i didnt get a double delay in one day so i supposed it'll really ship this time...

 

It did show up as next day in order status, too. On the phone complaining right now.

 

So yeah...i knew it was gonna happen. It can't happen to a thousand other people and just let me slip by. I just want the computer to come. I've been in school for 3 weeks now, and i'm still waiting. I agree with what someone said about the back to school gimmick. I ordered cause of the great discount, and to have by school and i'm thinking that i'm never gonna get it. Seriously they should start putting like a 2 month ESD from the get go, even now it says that if you order today you'll get it in a month. NOT TRUE DELL!! NOT TRUE!!

 

Okay, this is odd.

I chat with Dell support this morning, they give me a $50 credit, but say they can't give me next day shipping cause it's already in the boxing stage (tracked the stages by phone, went build -> kitting -> testing -> boxing, so it looks like it's legitimately in the boxing stage), and will ship in 1-3 days because that's how long boxing takes.

Unbeknownst to me, my mom called Dell this same morning, and *****ed till she got someone who knew english, who ended up giving her a $100 coupon, and free next day shipping, but said that the screens were still on backorder, which would imply that my laptop is still in the pre-production stage seeing as it's hard to build a laptop without a screen (or rather, the build stage as they lie to you on the automated phone message).

So best case scenario, my laptop is really boxing, I get free next day shipping, a $50 credit, and a $100 coupon.

Worst case scenario, my laptop is really not even built yet, I wont really get next day shipping (as others have complained about being told they got next day shipping but their laptops still took several days to arrive), and the coupon will override the credit.

I'm really hoping for the best case one. *fingers crossed*

I ordered on 8/13 and the EDD is 9/24. I pray it doesn't get delayed, i just pray.

 

Seems like the customers who ordered theirs after me are getting faster service I don't see why people who just ordered theirs like a week ago are already complaining. I've seen orders from June that still aren't delivered!

 

so yeah i got a total of 3 delays all in one day!!! and the latest one is freaking 2 months after i ordered the thing...when i called the machine it said i'm in boxing??? that can't be right, why would they send out a new ship date that is a month away if it's in boxing???...i'm not holding my breath.

 

Bit of an update. I spoke to a manager on the phone and eventually got her to "try her best" to ask dhl to upgrade the shipping. (Yeah, right) Turns out, it actually worked and the laptop is coming today.

 

I joined the club yesterday and now the shipped date is 9/14. I called and got $100 off. My order is 1330 in white case with all options.

 

I would love to know why everyone and their dog are getting $$$ off or coupons when I was told by a CSR that "it is impossible to credit an account or any such action when the order hasn't actually been shipped."

 

CSR told me the credit will be posted on the account after the order is shipped.

 

He said they can't do that and to call back and attempt to get some sort of compensation after the order has shipped. It's been in boxing for days already

 

GREAT NEWS! I just got delayed for the 5th and 6th time!! All in one day!
Was 8/31...then 9/9...and now 9/16! Keep up the crappy job Dell. EST Delivery date is 9/17....Thats only 54 days of waiting..

 

Just check my XPS M1330 order and now it's said shipped. I hope the information is valid. After dealing with Dell for the past 4 days, I don't really believe Dell anymore until I get a tracking number.

Ordered 7/19, still in early phases of production, but like everyone else, I have an ESD of 9/5 or 9/6.

I know there is an automated order status line in the US, does anyone know of one in Canada?

I just ordered yesterday, 8/30 and have an ESD of over 3-weeks from now, and I'm very upset it's not here this morning. DHL drove by but did not stop here. Furthermore, I've been calling the order status line every 5-minutes and it still says build. OMG, when is that going to change to boxing or shipped? Dell is pulling something, I just know it.

I called CSR today and they told me it will ship on September 23, but that's 3-weeks from now. I asked about compensation, since it could of been here this morning? The deep accented rep said no, do you believe the nerve of some people? OMG, I can't take it anymore. Should I cancel and go buy something else?

(Check my sig, I'm on day 31, just posting an exagerrated example, at least I think it is, because your going to see it all, due to this being a public forum & Dells anticipated delays. Hang in there and enjoy and learn from this forum, you'll get your laptop soon, hopefully. )

 

OMG mine just shipped after i was nice to a CSR got Next day delivery too on transit to carrier atm. does there carrier deliver on Saturdays ( labor day ... lol )
