What is the estimated shipping date for your 1420/1520/1720?

Anyone know?

 

my 7/7 1520 order was supposed to ship today 7/25 but i just got a call from Manseh telling me my new ship date is 8/1.... Damn you Dell! However i have been in the boxing stage since yesterday...

What is with the disorganization at Dell??? For a big, successful company it really is shocking how disorganized and misinformed their employees and tracking systems are... When I initially placed the order i did it online and never got an order number so when i called the girl said to do it again because it never when through. I did it again and never got an order number... Thinking it didn't go through again, i called and placed the order over the phone... well low and behold a day later I had 3!!! order numbers suddenly show up and I had to cancel 2 of them...

Top to bottom, my experience with Dell has been horrible. That said, I just want my laptop so I can stop this merry-go-round and get off!!!!

 

Still waiting on my other 1520 in pink for my wife. Est Date is 7/26. I just called and it is not in box yet. Still in production. I think I will wait until tomorrow and then call and talk to MGMT. Order date 7/3. This is getting old...

What number do you normally call to ask about the details of your order status?

 

I originally ordered my 1520 on 6/27 and it was suppose to be delivered this week, after I got a call that it was delayed and wouldn't be recieving it till at least the first week of August, I decided it was a sign to cancel and reorder with different specs.

Instead of the Midnight Blue lid, the intel T7300, 160GB 5400RPM HDD, and WSXGA+ screen - I reordered with the Jet Black lid, intel T7500, 160GB 7200RPM HDD, and anti-glare WXGA screen. I canceled and reordered yesterday, and it's already in the boxing stage. So ordered 7/24, boxing on 7/25, should receive it Monday or Tuesday next week.

 

I was going to get the black, but I thought that if it scratched it would show easily. I found out later that the microsatin is scratch proof. Anyone know if this is true?

Total price including taxes for my built would have been around 1800. With all the deals at the time of order it came out to 1360 after taxes so I'm not going to be reordering. I noticed the updated my shipping to next day. I heard they were supposed to get the midnight blue color today so I'm hopping to get it by Saturday before I leave for a 2 week trip, but I'm not holding my breath.

Edit: I don't know what's up but it's actually 300 bucks cheaper still if I cancel the original order. I could upgrade to a 2.2 GHz processor and 7200 HD for about the same amount money!!!

 

I ended up getting an email saying my new ESD was 8/1. I informed them that meant no one would be there to receive it, and that I needed to have it shipped instead to california, but that I didnt think paying the extra $116 tax was far.

They changed my shipping address, and agreed to refund me the extra $116 within 8 days after the laptop ships.

So I will end up getting it about the same time, at the same price. Im very happy with their solution. Yay Dell!

 

I upgraded my HD from 160 GB 5400 to 7200, Processor from T7300 2.0 GHz to T7500 2.2 GHz, and went from anti-glare widescreen 15.4 inch display (1280x800) to 15.4 inch Wide Screen WXGA+ LCD TrueLife (1440x900) for $70 LESS than the original system I had ordered. If you don't care about shipping time I suggest you go to the online site and see if you can upgrade or get your same built for a cheaper price.

Now I'm actually glad Dell is taking so long with orders.

 

Well, black doesnt -come- in the micro satin finish. Every color but black and alpine white does - but not those two colors.

So if you were worried about scratches, avoiding the black was probably a good idea.

 

Sweet, my 1420 just went into the boxing stage. I placed my order on 7/15 with an est. ship date of 8/13.

I'm new around here...I ordered my 1720 from dell.ca July 30th and the ESD is August 23rd..

However, I also ordered one of those laptop sleeves to hold it in..which was suppose to ship August 2nd..but still hasn't done anything..when I use the tracking number it says they have no supply and will fill the order as soon as possible...
