What is the estimated shipping date for your 1420/1520/1720?

WEeeee same here, it went from boxing to shipping carrier(DHL) today
SO mines about 1 week production time then the next 3-5 days after production is shipping mauahahah (about 2 weeks)

 

yay... its gonna be shipped by FEDEX next business day! so its mondaY!!

 

I ordered my 1520 late in the afternoon on July 17th, and it shipped July 20th. That is fast!

 

I ordered my 1520 yesterday (07/21), and it shipped August 16th. That is NOT fast!

 

i ordered my 1520 on 7/18.....and its going to ship Aug 16th. That is even LESS fast

 

nevermind... i rechecked today (7/22) and its status changed to shipped!!! that is really fast!

 

Yeah, my estimated ship date was actually August 3rd, so take it with a grain of salt.

 

Well I have been playing the 1520 for 2 days now. It is great. No issues. I have played Swap 4 in highest everything 1280x800. Great. I also installed Titan Quest Demo in Vista and was able to get it working great. High settings on everything as well. I think you guys will like the laptops.

How the heck did you guys get your laptops so fast? My laptop shipped Friday and had been in production since July 2. Mine shipped after the date they gave me. It make me angry when I hear stuff like that.

Now that I'm done ranting, congratulations on your laptop purchase. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I hope to enjoy mine.

 

The status of my shipment through DHL says "with delivery courier".

Does that mean I'll get it today? Is that the equivalent of UPS "out for delivery"?

Why am i beginning to feel like my 1520 will never get to me....? I ordered 7/7 and et-ship is 7/25 but I am still 'in-production'... I spoken to every Tom, Dick and Ashish at Dell and they all tell me the same thing.... Still in production.... Don't know whether it's the wireless-n card or the 1650 x 1080 screen but i see other people here who have gotten the high-res screen...

Because I was leaving on a trip when it was going to be delivered (it got delayed for color) and I didn't want it sitting outside my house a week. DHL would probably try to deliver it every day for a week and get so pissed they'd beat the box in.

Now I'm going to reorder the same thing or a vostro.

How hard would it be to change your color? I ordered a 1420 with Midnight Blue, and I really don't want to wait an extra SEVEN days.

 

you would have to do a complete reorder to change color. Sux, but that is how they do things.

Mine was ordered on 6/28 and shipped today 7/23

 

Still sitting "In Production" from 7/10 order date. They called me again to update me that it wasn't ready yet.

 

I ordered my Inspiron 1520 on July 18. Dell is saying that my estimated shipping date is August 6. Currently It says that it is in "Production" and has been since July 19. Is there anyway to tell what stage of production it's in? How do I tell when it's in the Boxing stage of production? I'm going nuts waiting for it!!!

PLEASE REMEMBER: their estimated ship date is just that. An ESTIMATE. in most cases, you can expect it to be there early. Mine said 10th august, and its already shipped!(Will come tomorrow I believe)

 

At least they called you...I have been calling for days only to be put on hold on average of a half an hour. Every person I talked to has sent me somewhere else. Then the wait starts all over again. I am still waiting for my Customer Service Rep to call me back.

Matt your best bet is to do the online help and get a case number, then ask to deal with a case manager. If you wish you can even ask for mine, her name is Mallika Khambaty, and she has been amazing. More helpful then any one else in the entire organization has been to me. It honestly starts to get old when they call you a million times just to tell you that the order has been delayed yet again...

Question: If I ordered my Midnight Blue laptop the day before the 7 day delay was put in place, will the delay affect me?

you guys need to quit acting like the dell world revolves around you. If they give you a shipping date in August why not wait until THAT date to call and complain? What's the big deal? The sorry thing is that people who don't call and complain such as I won't receive their laptops because the building priorities are being set around people who are selfish and demand theirs to be handled before everyone else's.

 

The big deal is people have ordered after me and have received theirs and when I call they tell me nothing is backordered, I know I have a shipping date of Aug 8th but even if I order one today It has a ship date of the 7th I believe, and I ordered mine on July 13th.

 

Mine is supposed to ship tomorrow 7/25 but still shows 'in-production'. The rep i just spoke to swears up and down that there are no delays and that it will ship tomorrow... Anyone wanna make a bet?

thats true and false.... false as i didnt complain at all and my computer is coming today , when it was supposed to ship here the 16th of august... but i'd say you're mostly true.... many others are waiting patiently (or not) but not complaining

 

I wouldn't be too worried if it was In Production, but its stayed on the stage before that since the day I ordered it. If this is still normal then I'll keep my mouth shut

 

some of us actually did have reason to complain, but I just got my system and this is the first post I am typing on it. I love the feel of the keyboard. And the large palm rests make it feel even better. The yellow color is the perfect shade for me, not to bright but also not to dark. I am very happy so far.

Plus to top off getting my laptop today, my case manager finally put in the order for my new messenger bag

Oh wait you said boxing stage, usually not too long. Mine went from testing, boxing, and shipped in about a day and a half.

 

My estimated shipping date is TOMORROW.

Bt it's going via ground/standard to Montana, then will have to be shipped from there to California once it arrives. So even if they ship tomorrow it will be another week.

But at least I could track it then

I ordered my Inspiron 1720 and i received it 12 days after order went though.

 

FINALLY boxing!

 

Ordered 1520 on the 8th of July, Scheduled to ship 23rd of July, Now its been delayed until the 30th of July.

What gets me is that none of my parts are backordered and they have been unable to tell me why its been delayed... It's been in the build stage for about 2 weeks now.
