i ordered 11/29 and my EDD was 12/26 [now 12/12]

Lol, youre welcome. Thats how I was too, I didn't get how the phone said preproduction but the online status said in production so I tried different things haha. I was very relieved to find out it was in boxing stage and not preproduction lol.

it said my build day is 15 dayz...while i try to go to the web site again...but their shipping date is only 10 dayz which is on DEc 21......

i called dell and they said that there are no delays right now on the building of the xps m1530, so i dont know what could be taking so long

 

can anyone who has already been received M1530 tell me that how long did Dell need to take build the computer...........!!!!!!
is it included saturday or sunday?

 

mine has been in the build stage since monday now.

 

Others have had ESD's of 12/21 all the way through 1/1 and have already recieved them. You should get it well before your ESD...

well i talked to the customer service people and the person put a request in to have my order expedited. so ill find out on monday if i get it or not.

 

i dont think it is possbile to ask for expedited.....they just want to comfort u......that wht i think...........i m looking forward to getting my laptop....i want to watch blu-ray movie........
also how u can ask for expedited????will Dell really build it faster?

ivantsl, i know how you feel, i ordered mine on dec 2nd and it still says that its in the build stage

 

i just got done talking to a service rep again, and after explaining to him how unhappy i am about people getting their m1530 shipped before mine when i place my order before them, he upped me from 3-5 day delivery to next day delivery for free. (i dont mean anything against yall or anything)

 

they have free next day delivery on the site now lol

 

ok, but they still changed it for me with out me asking for it. they offered, so its still nice to get.

 

I wonder if I can get this free next day delivery...anyone know how to switch it?

 

they told me that if it is ready to be shipped it cant be changed but if its still in production it could be changed

I placed my order on dec 4th and its in Boxing stage now...how many days more would it take to reach me ? i have next business day shipping...

 

I'm in the exact same situation as you, INSOFTECH, except I have the 3-5 day shipping. I'm not sure how to change it. I estimate ours will get here this week but you never know.

You should have ordered 1 GB RAM and got the Bluray drive instead - you can get 4GB RAM for a fraction of what Dell charges.

Anyway, enjoy your system when you get it (which will most definitely be before xmas!)....

Yeah, I just found out I'm getting a very generous Christmas bonus, and decided to splurge. I've been using a Toshiba Satellite that I got almost 5 yrs. ago that is big and heavy and slow. That replaced a used Thinkpad I got off Ebay and had owned for several years. I've never had the luxury of being able to get a new, decked out laptop before, so I just decided to go for it.

As far as the RAM issue, I really don't know enough to add stuff on my own, so I just decided to let Dell do it for me.

is that normal? It seems the status should have changed after two days.

I just call up the order status line from Dell, it currently in boxing stage.

It would be nice if anyone could clarify what exactly after boxing stage or how long is boxing stage will take before ship.

 

Boxing stage takes 2-5 days because your laptop is on it's way to the states (assuming your in the US) from malaysia.

Once it arrives in TN, it will be handed over to DHL for delivery to you.

 

Thanks for clarifying sleey0, so excite to get this for upcoming spring semester.

You think your 5 yr old Toshiba is bad? I am still using a 7 year old desktop. PIII 800 all the way baby!!!! I can not wait until I get to order my new laptop.

 

I just want to save you some money here. You can save hundreds of dollars getting a desktop with the same settings as an expensive laptop. Why go portable unless you will be moving around alot?

 

This is so funny. I have been waiting impatiently in boxing for 3 days. I decided to try to change my shipping so I used the chat on Dell.com and a very nice person came on. I always wondered if it was a computer talking to you or some type of automated thing. Anyway they were very nice and told me I couldn't change my shipping because it had already shipped! They gave me the tracking number too.

Honestly it's the best online tech support experience I've had.

So right now I get shipping on the website and my carrier and other things are temporarially unavalible. My EDD is 12/12 now but I estimate it will be tomorrow, or that's just me hoping for something that isn't going to happen. :/

Anyway my videocamera is currently nonexistent but I plan to use the built in webcam on the M1530 and make a videocamera review infront of a mirror. Or maybe just a text review. Either way I can't wait.

Long dots and bad grammar aren't necessary. Have you tried entering your order number on the phone? It will give you a more specific stage. Use the order number on their site (1800-433-9014) and once she starts talking just put in your 9 digit order number. It will give you one of four stages I'm told. Tell us what that stage is and we may be able to better estimate your delivery. Also what configuration did you get the laptop in.

 

yeaa mine went into production alittle bit ago. Cant wait!!!
