***XPS M1530 Order Status Thread***

How long was your laptop in boxing stage?? It is 6 days today since I ordered my laptop (including weekend) and it went into boxing stage yestedaty.

 

LMAO...well i am at my 14th day...still building...estimated day is this Monday...i hope i get it as latest as Friday man!! cant wait ....Maybe it will get delayed??Cuz its not on boxing stage, ppl say couple days for boxing stage???DARNnn want my lappy!!

BTW should i get the 3-year warranty??Call them and extend u know..?

 

Well, I still have not gotten my laptop and it has been in boxing stage since early Mon Morning... The reps are so clueless about this as they keep saying that it is "in production" and that the laptop is not scheduled to ship until oct 14th (Est ship date) - Even after I tell them that it is in the boxing stage... Sigh.... I hate this waiting process...

I watched so many unboxing videos in the last 3 days, I think i'll be able to do mine blindfolded!!

Just got info. that my estimated delivery date is now 30/09!!

 

I know..and understand I was literally on *pins and needles* whilst waiting for my 1530 in Jan...I watched a ton of unboxing vids, I spent a ton of time on NBR checking out the Dell forum, and on the net researching stuff.

Oh can't forget calling the Automated Line, and checking Online Order Status...a gazillion times a day! ROFL......

Well, if you can do that blindfolded you better YouTube that!

And, well if the delivery date got pushed out a tad longer..think 9/30 is next week Tuesday and theres a good chance it could ship before...Hold steady ..and you will have in your hands, and be *owning it in no time*

Woot!!!! My laptop has shipped!!!! Only one week after I ordered.... I'm impressed..... good timing too as I have to study for a test today....

 

I have the same-ish system, Bluray, Nvidia 8600 and the LED... and I ordered in August... see the sig

Awesome... I got mine a few hours ago... but still have not opened it!!!! Too many things I have to do... maybe I just need to get my priorities straight!!!

 

Man maybe mine will actually ship one of these days.

 

I was shocked when i heard the automated woman say shipped... almost as shocked as when she said delayed. hang in there man!

 

When they reinstated my order it went back to 3-5 day shipping even though I was promised it would still be overnight shipping. I was told it just takes 24-48 hours to show up even though last time they upgraded me it showed up right away. Now 3 days later it still shows 3-5 day. I am actually afraid it will ship in the next day or two before it gets changed to overnight. I emailed my case manager again today about it. I am thinking maybe they know it is going to ship soon and are going to try and say sorry it didn't get changed in time to try and screw me out of my overnight shipping. I wonder if mine would have shipped if it wouldn't have gotten canceled. The only main difference from yours is mine is blue and I have the T8300, both which have been in short supply. Another weird thing with this new order I was sent my $75 GC already. With the last order I was told I wouldn't get it until I got the computer. I already used the gift card on some accessories and it is actually supposed to show up today. It was weird to actually see something in my account say shipped. I wonder if I canceled my computer now if I would get a bill for $75.

 

OK mine is at least showing overnight shipping now.

 

Don't worry man, the wait will be worth it. I only waited about a week, but even I was shocked in awe at the XPS machine. I had never seen it in person before, only through pictures, however as cliche as it may sound, "seeing really is believing."

I do have some flaws with my machine (little bulge) but its not that noticeable.

 

OK I think I called it. Mine shows shipped now. I wonder if it got changed to overnight shipping in time or if it will go out 3-5 day and they will just claim they didn't get it changed in time. There is no tracking number yet. Funny I never had any other statuses. It just went from in production earlier today to now showing shipped. It does show shipped date 9/26 and EDD 9/30. Of course like all my next day deliveries they ship out on Friday so I have to wait the weekend. Still it should be here on 9/29 not 9/30 if it is overnight delivery.

 

OK it still doesn't show my tracking number on the website but I was able to pull up my invoice and it is on there. DHL is just showing shipment notification but no actual pickup yet. It says it is shipping from Sparks, NV but doesn't indicate service type. But guess what I see on my invoice "Shipped via DHL Express Ground." I saw that one coming a mile away. I have been dealing with these companies too long I guess. Coming from Nevada it should be here in about two business days I guess. Maybe since it is over the weekend it could show up Monday if I am lucky. One other thing. My tax was only like $67 and this whole time I was wondering if they screwed up and I was going to be charged the full 7-8% tax rate but on my invoice it only shows $821 taxable. I don't know what is up with that. I don't know if it has anything to do with EPP or what.

 

Well it is now Sunday and DHL still just shows a shipping notification and no actual pickup so either DHL is screwed up or my order hasn't really been shipped yet.

Yeah but Dell said they shipped it on Friday but DHL still shows no pickup. I don't know about DHL because I never normally get deliveries from them but FedEx and UPS still move and process packages over the weekend even though they are closed to the public and I have gotten tracking updates over the weekend.

Actually I just checked and DHL does offer Saturday pickup and delivery and by special arrangement Sunday delivery so they most definitely do work on the weekends.

 

Mine shipped on Friday the 19th, and was delivered on Monday the 22nd. On Sunday night, the 21st, DHL still only showed shipping acknowledgment. It was delivered around 10am, with ground shipping to College Station, TX. start worrying if it gets updated in the morning and it is still not ready to be delivered.

 

At about 9pm Sunday it finally started showing some package progress. At midnight it shows it left a hub about an hour and a half from my house so maybe it will come today (Monday) if I am lucky. Although it is already over 3 hours later and there are no new scans yet. By the way I am a reserve fire fighter and I go for fire training in College Station once every two years. In February I was there and we had a whole sorority staying at our hotel because their house was being renovated. Good times.

 

Shipped on the 27th.

By the way, can you inform us if yours comes with the cool leather Dell binder that holds the restore CDs and manual? And also if it comes with two express card media remotes?

I was told that earlier shipments of the 1530 had these extras, but current shipments, (like mine, which I bought about 3-4 weeks ago) don't come with them anymore...

Sounds like it to me. Must be nice. My last status is 8am at a hub about 20 miles from my house. So unless DHL has trucks that leave later in the day unlike UPS, looks like no computer today. I did get a package from DHL this morning though, the Vista 64 bit disk that I ordered that wasn't even invoiced until Saturday morning. Too bad they can't deliver laptops that fast.

OK the saga continues. I had emailed my case agent on Friday after hours when I discovered it had been shipped ground and told her how unhappy I was with all I had already gone through and that them shipping it ground after I was promised overnight was the final insult and I might just return the laptop. She just called and said that she was sorry blah, blah and it was an accident and claims she called DHL and put in a special request to have it delivered by the end of the day today or by tomorrow. It was obviously going to be delivered by tomorrow anyway. I don't know if it is just some more BS or not. We will see if I get it today. I have to leave for work tonight at about 4pm. With my luck they will try to deliver it today after I leave.

My M1530 has reached the local carrier's office!! WOOT!!

Although the estimated delivery was mentioned as 30/09, the online 'order status service' still said that the 'current status' of my system is "ship from factory"...!!

So I went over to the Blue Dart(now taken over by DHL) office in the evenin, to enquire about the status of my lappy, and the manager there said that it just arrived 10 minutes back!
I was lik "YAY!!", and asked him whether I cud take it with me right now, but then he was lik "sorry sir, we cant do that. you will have to wait for it to get delivered to your address tomorrow evening."
Then I was lik "Why the hell cant you give me my own package?! I've already given you'll the necessary details, and if needed, can even provide my ID for verification!"
Then again he was lik "no sir, sorry sir, we have to follow company procedures, and Dell has given us strict instructions to hand over the system only at the specified shipping address."
So i was lik "Then deliver it to the specified address right now!!"
And he was lik "no sir, as I said before, the package just arrived at our warehouse 10 min. back, so it needs to undergo some processes before it can be delivered, and that will happen tomorrow."

I cursed him with some of my choicest words, and got out of there...

Later on I realised that the next day was just around the corner, and I shudn't get so impatient..

Now i'm just tryin to kill time, by watchin some more unboxing vids and browsin NBR for stuff that I need to do once I get my lappy!

 

I understand your excitement, but at the same time, as much as we wished DHL or any carrier gets ur package safe n fine, we must also respect that they need to complete certain procedures and there is nothing we can do about it

good that you realized you shouldn't be so impatient and probably cursing the DHL guy wasn't the right thing to do

Cheers anyway and I hope you get ur system soon and more than anything, start enjoying the beast Its an awesome laptop..... And be proud of owning it.

And, realize that your lappy will be there sooner than you think! I'm mean..it's almost right there. Try doing other things like you are right now, to keep your mind occupied, it helps

My 1530 is currently in "Shipping from Factory" phase and in the shipping details, it says "Loading to export"

Today is about the third day since order is placed

What are the chances that it will arrive next week ??

 

Why is yours in shipping from factory already?

I ordered mine last sat and its still in the build stage...

Don't worry so, I understand..the waiting is the hardest part. We have all been there and done that. I am going to be there again, when I order my Adamo 13 (hopefully this week)

The Adamo looks really nice! I sure wish I could get one, but they'll probably be pretty expensive.
