I am stating that "if it does" affect performance....it's not enough to matter. Seeing as the xps is MUCH faster doing tasks and running programs than the MacBook pro of similar setup it just proves what I am saying. Yep if you synthetic benchmark the "YOU KNOW WHAT" out of it, sure it will slow down....if you use the damn thing as it's supposed to be used and not just playing with benchmarks, it's perfectly fast, capable and an awesome machine...not to mention the screen is to die for. So....the thermal cowboys blow crap out of proportion regarding throttling etc. Use your damn computer to do things...not sit and watch temps and clock speeds every min of every day!

If it were perfect as you claim, people wouldn't be modding their machines so as to have a CPU faster than 1GHz, right? :)

Just accept it, the thermal design of the XPS 15 is atrocious and needs revision.

No...because if they were not listening to the nonsense spewed on here they would use the device as intended and not have any issues. People go LOOKING for issues. Human Nature. I know lots of people using the xps 15 notebooks and are PERFECTLY HAPPY with their performance.

Yep, as intended. A 2000$ facebook machine you mean? Cause that's pretty much all you can do with an overheating system.

Maybe you're both right and both notebooks are trash....why bother continuing to argue when several pages of posts have already made it clear neither of you will convince the other of your position?
