who bought an m1530 around april 22?

just wondering who has got theirs. my expected ship date is 5/8-5/12...ive read that they overestimate the shipping date but has anyone got an earlier ship date in the US or even California?plus i wanna know what screens they are using for this shipment

 

I ordered my m1530 on 4/21/08 and my expected ship date is 4/30/08. I ordered it with the LED screen. I'm going crazy waiting for it!

 

I ordered mine early on that day. Only upgraded the processor and already using mine.

 

I ordered mine on 4/20 and it was not supposed to come until 5/20! So I canceled it and put in an order that said it would ship the 2nd. After the order went through it changed to the 12th.

The second order was placed on 4/25. Hoping it ships before the 12th. Dell really needs to step it up in shipping laptops quicker.

FYI I ordered it with the 1440x900 LED Screen.

 

I ordered mine on the 21 of April, and received it yesterday (28), though it was originally expected for May the 20th.

 

Ordered my laptop on April 24th. Still not received, I'll probably receive it this weekend, may be Friday. We'll see.

 

I ordered mine on 4/17 and it says estimated ship date is 5/9 and delivery 5/14-5/19

 

My 1530 was supposed to ship today after a the first delay now I have a ship date of 5/6/08. Bought it on 4/16/08.

 

I ordered mine on the 24th. Estimated ship date May 23rd, it's in production. My laptop case is expected to arrive today, however.

 

I ordered an m1530 with LED display on 4/18 and my original estimated ship date was yesterday. I got the delay email yesterday and my new ship date is 5/5. I think the LEDs must be what's holding them up.

 

ordered on the 14th of april with estimated delivery of the 28th april, got an email on the 24th to say its delayed until the 8th of may. Has been in produciton since the 24th..hoping it will not get delayed again.

I just checked the dell site because someone on another thread stated such an unbelievable deal I had to see if I could get the same. I couldn't but did see where if your going for the LED option they have a delay statement under it.

I thought I had ordered mine only a day or so after the LED's came out I guess not.

 

I ordered my laptop on 4/21. It says the estimated ship date will be 5/13.
I really do hope it'll come earlier than that. :/

^ That's so ridiculous. It should take no longer than 7 days to get a laptop built and shipped. This really leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

 

That's actually gone down :| it was estimated the 28th before so it's a week shorter now :| but yeah I'm not real happy.... I always said I'd never get dell cause they suck and overcharge but 40% off sucked me in

 

Ordered on 04/21, later called to upgrade to LED for extra $100, got the laptop yesterday (04/28). I was first to get LED from that deal with $750+stackable coupons, and LED screens are backordered, so hang tight. Meanwhile, go take a look at the LED vs WSXGA I did yesterday! Super screen, well worth the wait for! Link to my post!

 

ordered on the 22nd (with the 40% deal), its being delivered today with standard 3-5 day shipping! XD

i was quoted an estimated ship date of 4/30/08, delivery date of 5/5/08-5/7/08, but they shipped out on the 28th and magically, DHL decides that they'll deliver it today (after only 2 days)

 

Ordered it originally on the 23rd, but canceled and reordered it with the LED screen on the 24th.

Estimated ship date is 5/8/08 and arrival is 5/15 latest.

 

I ordered on the 21st, got the WUXGA screen and 320gb drive. At the time the drive was estimated 5 days out and the screen was 15 days out. Estimated ship date is 5/20 according to my Order status page.

I can't find the 320gb showing as an option for the m1530 any longer.

Yesterday the WUXGA screen was still 15 days out, today it shows 2!.. hopefully that means it'll be in stock and sent out this week. I'm willing to wait, the price with these specs with that $799 instant off, plus stackable %10 and %8 off gave me $995 total discount.. ridiculous price.

Got a email saying it will be delayed till 5/5. Asked the customer rep and according to him the LED screen and the 250gb 7200rpm HD is on back order.

Ordered mine with WUXGA and 320G hdd, estimated ship date's 5/21 with one day shipping but I called their automated line and it says that it's in the boxing stage. I was really excited but then I read somewhere that dell's boxing stage takes a long time, anyone have any experience with this? I've ordered many systems from dell but have never really kept track of them until now and I REALLY want mine now .

 

I bought mine on 22/04/2008.I'm already waiting...

 

ordered mine in the 19th. The ESD was may 5th and it changed to the 2nd on the 20th. I cant see it arriving in three days thiugh as its still in production

has been so ever since I ordered it. But I don't really care how long it takes as long as I get an LG screen.... I REALLY don't want to have to send it back.

I hope dell has seen that way too many people are sending they'r samsung screens back in for replacement, and will start shipping more LG screens

...and I never saw this 40% off so many ppl are talking about..."all" I got was $599 instant savings + a 12% student discount...totaling about $800 off ( I payed 1500, including taxes (damn taxes, put me back 80 bucks) and a nice backpack (around 40-50 i think)

 

I ordered the 250GB 7200rpm free-fall sensor drive, so I guess that's on back-order. Also ordered the full-HD 1920x1200 screen, so we'll see when they decide to get around to finishing mine

Ordered mine 4/21 around 10AM and I should be receiving it tomorrow, 4/30. Got them to give me free next day shipping.

WXGA+ non-led, T8300.

Paid $945 originally. There was some snafu w/ my shipping and it shipped out a day later, received a $50 credit for that and a $100 GC for opening DPA account.

Net - $895 - 100 Dell GC.

Just got mine in...didn't really notice much bloatware at all?? I uninstalled TrendMicro and that was about it.

I placed my order on April 18th and the estimated delivery date is still listed on the website as April 28. When I called Dell in the early evening of the 28th, they advised that there was a hard drive shortage (7200rpm 250GB). When I called them yesterday (April 29), they couldn't give me a good reason why it wasn't done. It sounded as though it is done and sitting in a box in a warehouse somewhere.

 

when is dell going to get some freakin hard drives? i think that's the only thing holding my order back.

 

Grrr my ship date was just delayed until May 5th. Its either the LED screens or the hard drives delaying everything.

 

Just a quick question, but how on earth do you end up with a shortage on HARD DRIVES?

LOL - I'm not upset, just bemused with Dell, that's all. I'm thinking I'll call them tomorrow if nothing changes with the status of my system, though I've got the 1920x1200 screen AND the 250GB 7200rpm free-fall sensor HD, so that would explain the delay....

 

I just got off the phone with Dell, I asked if they could hook me up with free next day business delivery because my order was delayed, and they did. So if your order was delayed recently I'd call and ask for free upgraded shipping.

 

I ordered mine on 4/25 and has a 5/27 ship date. I opted for the LED screen, T9300 processor and 250 GB hd which "may delay my order." It's going to be a long wait.

 

Well, my order has not been delayed beyond the initial delay date of May 23. So technically they haven't done anything yet to warrant upgrading my shipping.

What I more meant was that I understand why they say it will take as long as they say it will for my system to be shipped out (May 30th at the latest) if they're saying there is a shortage on HDs and the 1920x1200 screen is already delayed...

 

I've just found out that Dell's estimated ship date is usually off by a lot, they do it to prevent having to tell their customers that their systems will be delayed (even more) because if your laptop hasn't been shipped by the estimated date, it's already pretty late. Mine is estimated to be shipped on 5/21 and actually, I should receive it by tomorrow .

 

UPDATE: Dell shipped today (4/30) a good 7 days before the estimated ship date

 

I ordered my M1530 (T8300, LED, 250GB) on 4/21, very early in the morning. It was supposed to ship out 3/29 but I got the delay e-mail, new estimate is 5/5. When I ordered it said nothing about any of the options delaying shipment.

I called yesterday to see what was holding it up and they said it was a general slowdown and not related to a specific component. I called again today to see if I could get faster shipping and they said it was too late in the process. Any suggestions on what to say to get them to upgrade the shipping for free?

 

My M1530 has been delayed for a second time, the new estimated arrival date is more than a month after I ordered it. Anyone else running into the same issue? This has happened with every order I have placed with Dell.

 

This is ridiculous. I seem to fit in between some of you who have terrible estimated ship dates and you lucky individuals who already received your order. My situation is that my order was placed on 4/22 with an estimated ship date of tomorrow (5/6). Yet, frequent (about 10 times a day) checks of my online order status indicate that my order is still in production. I find it hard to believe that it will ship tomorrow and am anticipating an order delay email.

I ordered an XPS with the 320GB HD option and the LED screen as well. Got around $900 off with their instant $599 discount plus a corporate 12% discount.

I have called customer service once and had an online chat as well. Both individuals told me that the delay was due to the LED option. The guy on the phone said my ship date should be no later than 5/9. I have my doubts.

By the way, I am new here and these forums kick some a$$. I thought it was just me waiting in agony and while I sympathize with everyone, its good to know I'm not the only one waiting. Quick question, the LG screens...are they only for the WSXGA versions or does LG supply the LED's as well?

Can't I get a straight answer to a question? I find this email insulting as clearly a ship date of tomorrow is not going to happen. The tech in my notebook is going to be outdated by the time I get it.
