Wow, the last mission you had better make a default save before you get on with it. LOL
There seems to be a few endings available. And that's all i'm gonna say.
Edit:
So it looks like it will take you back to the point of no return once you finish the game, if you choose...

Having a hard time figuring out how to get the core to run at 2200+ as it seems to like 2190 too much. Maybe I just need to give it more voltage. Already pushing almost 1.300V as shown in Precision X1.
-
How hot is the card and the radiator?
-
Core is getting to about 50-55C. It's 45°F outside and I have the radiator in front of the open window with a fan blowing really hard on it. And, I'm freezing, LOL. Literally teeth chattering, but that's my bad for sitting here with shorts and a t-shirt on.
-
-
Then 2200+ is doable, but not with all as with that. (Also depends on the bench when running above 42 to 47C) It's about 65F here right now.
Although the average seems to be 2175 here...

Finally got a bigger desk. Also nice not using a laptop for anything other than checking my email while watching TV or laying in bed. Now that I am not wasting desktop space on a laptop there is room for another monitor for work. I can now actually read what is on the third display since it's not so small. A 15-inch laptop screen is just tiny junk unless it is in your lap... 2.5 or 3 feet away, hell no... worthless.

No, I had that same L-shaped glass top desk that I had when you came to my house before. I sold the old desk on Craigslist and I bought two matching desks on Amazon and put them in an L-configuration, so each part is 63" long. This gave me another 24" of usable desk surface. The side next to the window is 87" wide from the corner to the end. The cabinet under the desk is what the big desktop used to be sitting on at the end of the old desk. I added the 10" shelf to the end to set the MO-RA 360 on top of with the chiller below it.

OK, I am going to have to pick your brain one night this week or next weekend to make sure user error isn't messing me up. I don't know if it is a case of more is less, or I'm being too conservative with the Classified tool. Awesome score.
I'm working on trying to get W7 optimized again. My 3DMark 11 Physics scores are about 1.5K to 2K lower that they used to be with the 2080 Ti.Last edited: Dec 28, 2020 -
Thanks.
Those look really nice and I like the addon shelf at the end. Nice touch there.
I want to change mine as well, but the tables I want are pretty pricey right now. They raise up and down automatically. Would make getting under them a whole lot easier and when one is tired of sitting, one can stand for a while.
As for 3d11, you generally need 4 slots of memory to get a decent score, but I have seen very few do it with 2 sticks.(CPU & Physics)Mr. Fox likes this. -
What frequencies are game stable in Cyberpunk 2077 with your new 3090 KP?
I know you said, you don’t game with overclocks. But maybe you’ve tested it, I dunno.
I can manage 2,115Mhz sustained with my 2080Ti and I would trust it if my life depended on it lol. That game is particular over boost frequencies, like it’ll crash in the menu if it isn’t stable. -
I'll have to let you know when I put that drive back in.
-
Trying to figure out what changed my physics and combined scores. All the parts are the same except the GPU. I ran into this once before and I don't remember what I did to fix it. This is what is holding back my 3DMark 11 overall score. Pretty massive drop even with 100MHz higher core clock. I wish I could remember what it was. I think it might have been one of the "updates" and to fix it I removed a bunch of crap that was bogging down the CPU. I should have taken notes. I thought I would remember it and now I can't, LOL.

Cyberpunk 2077: 9900KS | RTX 3090 | 21:9 - 4K (3840x1600)
Here's a comparison of the FPS on the 3080 vs 3090. The screenshots below are from the 3090.
Ultra Preset w/ DLSS: AUTO - 3080 (60 FPS) vs 3090 (80 FPS) ~ Delta 25%
Ultra Preset w/ DLSS: QUALITY - 3080 (56 FPS) vs 3090 (70 FPS) ~ Delta 20%
Ultra Preset w/ DLSS: OFF - 3080 (35 FPS) vs 3090 (46 FPS) ~ Delta 31.4%
I picked this specific location on purpose as it is pretty consistent overall with a lot of details on the screen.
Note the resolution that I'm gaming at. This is 21:9 - 4K, which is not very common. Your scaling may vary.
Ray Tracing Ultra: Preset
Only changes:
Film Grain: OFF
RT: Reflections ONLY
RT Lighting: ULTRA
DLSS: OFF and AUTO and QUALITY
80 FPS w/ DLSS: AUTO
70 FPS w/ DLSS: QUALITY
46 FPS w/ DLSS: OFF
BONUS:
42 FPS - Psycho w/ DLSS: OFF
Since I like to max everything out within reason (ie... film grain = no bueno for me, hence why it's turned OFF) and play at the resolution that I am on the wide screen monitor, when it comes to achieving a 60 FPS+ gaming experience at 4K, the 3090 is the ideal choice for me over the 3080.
However, just to be clear I'm fully aware how terrible the value is for the 3090 as a gaming GPU lol, especially for 1080p and 1440p gaming. The 3080 is more than adequate for most people.Attached Files:

Yes, definitely. Otherwise, the FPS would be capped. Graphics scores are off the hook (up to 500 FPS) only the physics and combined are off. Compare GPU Result (3dmark.com)
This affects wPrime the same way when it is happening. I have a hunch it is an update or driver that needs to be removed. I wish I could remember what I did to fix it the last time it happened with the 7980XE. It was simple but it took me a while to figure it out. Now I am kicking myself in the butt for not making notes someplace.
No change there. Using the same BIOS user profiles. It is definitely something in the OS, not the firmware settings. The sucky CPU performance mimics the suckiness of what Windows 10 does to kill CPU performance when this is happening.Last edited: Dec 28, 2020 -
No, not yet. was debating on opening her up and installing one of my gpu core water blocks though.
Edit: Side note
Looks good now, but this game has serious graphics and gaming issue from time to time.
Textures don't render or you get the rainfall affect from sky to ground. Floating cars, Cars stuck in streets. Unfinished parts of the game. Not being able to draw your gun or switch to gorilla fist. Weapon not showing or unable to pick up items that are clearly marked for you to pick up.
It was low 40F with radiator in front of fan in front of window.
My scores are super sucky right now. And I had not booted Windows 7 in a long while, but I remember it working at that point.Last edited: Dec 28, 2020 -
Yep I know what you mean. The Windows poop pipe stuffage level directly controls CPU scores in benchmarks lol. My R15 and R20 numbers start to dwindle away the longer I run my raid 0 setup haha. Then I’ve gotta reinstall Windows again.
Now I work from home with some odd ball software and specific settings, so I can’t go outside of the darkness beyond 4.8Ghz with a flashlight on this raid 0 setup. If I crash it too much that’s it, Windows will just poop out and BSOD on a boot.

All we risk with this mess (due frauders) is more massive monitoring software from Futuremark. Could be it will hit the performance. Depends how good they are at coding. And we all know how it will be

Yes I have seen all of those glitches lol. But I think they’ve been fixed since 1.06. Most of them anyways.
-
Nah, they ain't fixed. I just did the break away car and couldn't shoot the bottles. The whole panam mission is plague with nonsense. And that's where the shoot the bottles comes from. I had to do that part 5 times before it would let me hit some of the bootles then stop shooting. I couldn't talk to Mitch or Saul. Had to die, then reset then come back and then i could sort of talk to them then it would glitch again. it wouldn't let me draw down on Adam Smasher nor pull Grilla Arms on him. Had to do that part 4 times before it started to work.
-
That sucks. Yeah I don’t have gorilla arms. I have the single launcher arm. But they were both like 25K each. So Since I am generally poor in the game, I wanted something cool lol. And I have not done that Panam mission yet. I suppose that’s the last one that she refers to? No call from her yet on this one.
I just notice that V doesn’t do a T body on the cars roof anymore. And no more smashing destruction from random cars clipping guard rails.
One thing that is stupid is, there’s no animation from the rocket launcher arm. It only fires and you see an impact. No bullet exiting, no smoke from exiting, no nothing. Just click and boom it hits the target. The rocket arm certainly shoots slowly almost like a grenade launcher or something. Because it takes time to hit the target your aiming at. It even has a lot of ballistic drop from the very slow velocity it has. But there is not bullet whatsoever and there’s no animation to its operation whatsoever. You fire it, and a explosion happens where you aimed at.
And the worst thing of all about this game is, there is no long range shooting at all. You can shoot the launcher too far and the explosion doesn’t exist past 100FT or so. For example you could aim straight in to the sky and fire the launcher, and nothing happens. It fires, but there’s not bullet, no explosion, no smoke, nothing at all. What in the hell?
Same with sniping, if you shoot at someone from a long way away, it does nothing, it just goes straight through their ghost like silhouette with no reaction from them at all...
It’s like the game is rendered in a 75x75ft circle around V. And anything outside of that circle, nothing happens in relation to what V does, everything is just a ghost.
I remember playing Fallout 4, and shooting a Verda bird out of the sky from super far away with a fat man, it was exhilarating because it took me over 20 attempts by reloading my game in Fallout 4. Or even just sniping a raider from super far away. But in CB77 anyone outside of 100ft is just a ghost that’s not actually there.
You can’t snipe cars from far away, can’t shoot people from far away. They just keep walking like nothing happen. They need to fix that for sure...
I mean V could set off a Atomic bomb inside of night city lol “If this were possible”. And it would only hurt things from a stone throw away.
^ This is my biggest gripe with the game. Long range just doesn’t exist..They need to get on that. Maybe this is what consoles need or something. But it makes the game feel very dead inside of this tiny circle. And it makes weapons bigger than a pistol feel just inadequate or not required at all.Last edited: Dec 30, 2020 -

Does anyone know how many PCs a 3DMark Advanced Edition key is valid for? I’m wondering if I need to purchase another key if I want to install it on a second system.
Mr. Fox likes this. -
You can install it on as many as you want. I have been using the same key on every computer I have owned since the current 3DMark was released (around 2013-?) without issue. Same with all DLC keys (Port Royal and Time Spy) and earlier versions of 3DMark benchmarks.Last edited: Dec 30, 2020Rage Set, Johnksss, Papusan and 1 other person like this.

You don't get a call for that one. It's one of main ending of the game missions.
I don't think I have seen her do that, but the passenger in the car did.
I have that, but never used it. I'll check it out later.
Yeah, that's pretty gay. I didn't like that part either as I tried shooting the tops of buildings and nothing. Even the long range scopes suck if you ask me. And long range shoot is out of the question. Unless your shooting at a highlighted enemy, but random picking of people. No go.
In very hard mode, you need a range of weapons as a hand cannon wont always one shot people once they see you. In stealth mode your fine, but once you have like 10 people shooting at you...that gun will get you killed.
You want weapons with 4 to 6 slots on them so you can add your mods to them. The same with clothing. 4 to 2 slots. These help you alot!!! And mods stack so you can use 3 to 6 of the same thing, which GTA would surely block!
You want your armor and health up by alot. And and depending on your ending. Hand to hand better be top notch, because quite a few times you will need to fight that way over using guns. Again, might be different using the easier mode.
-
The problem with that is it will stop short. You would need to compare with a 24gb card to actually know. For example BO Cold war uses up to 18.5GB of Vram and about 6 to 10 GB of desktop Ram And that is at 2560x1440P
-
yrekabakery Notebook Virtuoso
The 24GB card will cache a bunch of data that the 10GB will not. The CoD games are well-known for filling up as much available VRAM as they can even if not strictly required.Johnksss likes this. -
And doesn't that help make the game run better?Mr. Fox and electrosoft like this.

Looking forward to them releasing the actual article....if you see it then post a link to it up here after they've released it.
Yeah, it would have to stop short of 10GB, because it wouldn't be able to allocate over 10GB, so that is a problem with the methodology I would think.....unless they manage to identify during testing how close it has to come to 10GB before they see any performance decrease or related stuttering. They could do 8K testing to establish how close it needs to come to 10GB to show negative effects.electrosoft and Johnksss like this. -
Thats why I said they would need a 24GB card to test side by side with.
Edit:
I can add that I did test Cyberpunk and it never got past 9GB.Mr. Fox likes this. -
yrekabakery Notebook Virtuoso
I'm not seeing a larger than normal performance gap between the 3080 and 3090 which would indicate that the 3090's ability to cache a lot more data is inordinately benefitting its performance in BOCW.

Ha, yeah, that's probably a simpler way of doing it! And using that "special" parameter in Afterburner it would show how much is actually being used, so yeah that would be a valid way of doing it I think. They should probably use the 3090 to test instead then, but I'll still be interested to see the article when it gets released.electrosoft and Johnksss like this.
