UPDATE, my Z590 Dark is staying put!
I am getting a binned 11900K from a member on overclock forums. His chip is the best of (5) and it stabilizes 4000Mhz CL14 Gear 1. His chip manages 5.32Ghz all core with 294 watts, at 1.394 volts
This is a trade plus cash. 11900K for 11900K. I’m adding cash for the better cpu. But I want it! lol.

Might be the ZtecPC enhancements, but outside of anything stressful, the system is basically dead silent. I haven't even installed CCC yet or even done runs with fan to max.
The cooling in this is very nice I must say.
If you're running Prema do you have an automatic UV applied? Mine has an automatic undervolt in BIOS even after a CMOS clear you have to manually adjust if you want it lower/higher.
I'm still focused on tweaking memory then I'll go as high as possible then start to dial it back down. Once I get it where I want I'll take a saunter through the cooling to see if there is anything I can do to kick it up a notch and bring temps down more.
Funny thing is, RIGHT NOW I am more than happy with the system from all aspects. The fact there is still lots of room for tweaks and improvements is most righteous. -

Sounds familiar....
5.34 @ 1,4v and 296w but I can't hit 4000mhz CL 14 G1 on this chip (or possibly board). It will be nice to move to a better class of board. I remember quite a few chips I had in the past hitting a wall but when I switched to EVGA motherboards they found another bin and/or ran cooler.
It will be fun seeing it compare to your current chip data I'm sure you have logged somewhere. -
Yes it is very similar to your 11900K.
The owner said this below. I tried to buy from him previously. (He wouldn’t sell it a few months ago)
I offered him my 11900K, and $300 on top.
I personally love the 11900K! So this works out for me.

Can't wait to see the differences between your old(ish) and new 11900k on your rig, congratz!

I am SOO glad I didn't waste any money on the X570 Dark. I wish I could still afford the Kingpin GPU block from OptimusPC, but this change is going to negate most of what I was hoping to accomplish with the 5750X. But, it already feels like a burden being lifted knowing an AMD fanboy is going to get a good deal and take this off my hands. You guys don't know how often I wanted to take a hammer to this Ryzen piece of trash due to the USB ports randomly not working. I do believe it is related to the 5950X more than the mobo or chipset, because it very seldom has an issue with the wimpy and obsolete 2600X CPU. As we all know... "newer is always better newer" LOL.
It will be interesting. If it's not good enough, this 10900KF in my work computer should run like a spottted-a$$ed ape in the Z590 Dark. It runs fantastic even in this gamer-kid Strix Z490-H mobo. And, the 11900K is compatible with this mobo, so I feel like I can't go wrong.
Even my "work" computer is more impressive than the AMD junk. It's nice having something that runs like this as I go about my day doing things for work. It certainly makes it more enjoyable than using some crippled piece of crap like a ThinkPad, Elitebook or Latitude turdbook. All it has is those two little 240 rads, a single D5 pump/res and it still plugs along at 5.3GHz all day long without a meltdown. And, the voltage is totally reasonable. It even manages to stay under 80°C in Cinebench R20. TVB is kind of lame for benching, but it works nice on a business-use monster machine like this.

Looks like I am the last Ryzen 5000 user left...lol. I still plan on getting the X570 Dark and I have my GPU block for my 6900 XT OC. Let's see if I can push both 5950X and 6900 XT, because Winter is Coming...Temps are falling in the Northeast.

Yeah the cooling mods definitely help a lot. I think it's the only reason I can draw over 200 watts from the CPU and not thermal throttle. I'm pretty sure the same laptop from other vendors can't do that.
I don't have an automatic undervolt applied. I'm going to see how far I can undervolt next. I always tune using Intel XTU first to find stable settings before applying them in the BIOS.jc_denton, Papusan, tps3443 and 1 other person like this. -
If anyone can make it sing, brother, that would be you.
Had I not been overzealous and had Rockit Cool ruin it for me, I would be right along side you, brother. I'm downgrading because it's actually going to end up being cheaper than buying a replacement 5950X by the time all is said and done. But, I am sacrificing the OptimusPC Kingpin block. Unless they ignore my request and ship it anyway. Then I will have to figure out a plan B for the cost, LOL. Who knows how much longer that wait would be. I still want it, but it feels like a 4090 Kingpin might show its face to the world before that waterblock does. -
The XTU software is actually pretty good for certain scenarios, and finding a quick stable undervolt is one of those uses. I just don’t like the heavy OS overhead that Intel XTU app causes within windows 10. Just that monitoring graph inside XTU uses like 5-8% CPU usage, idling along. It is a very intensive app.
I praise Evga for making their Evga fleet software so light weight. it has some downsides to it though. -
I think Optimus PC spent too much time on surface finish testing, surface finish surveying. I mean, we get it, those guys are literally (making the best GPU block in the world) but dang, who cares about all that if the 3090 Kingpin is last Gen by the time the block actually comes out lol.
At this point I am ok with my hydro copper block. I would love a water cooled back plate though. -
Really? XTU usually uses less than a percent of CPU usage for me. However, I also don't monitor much. XTU does have a significant memory footprint however.Rage Set likes this.
-
Yeah the monitoring graph that is inside of XTU. If you pause the graph cpu usage is not bad. But with it on, it is horrendous. But, I haven’t used XTU in a few years. Maybe it’s gotten better.Clamibot likes this.

So, I guess maybe tomorrow I will see if this did anything beneficial. The only thing that gives me any degree of thought that it might is the fact that it wasn't that log ago that Intel moved from crappy thermal compound back to soldering everything. But, then I also wonder as hot as it was soldered from the factory how in the world it could possibly be acceptable using thermal paste with a small fraction of the thermal conductance capacity.
I sanded down the perimeter of the copper IHS so that with the IHS sitting on the 3 dies there is a very thin air gap. I put a drop of SuperGlue gel in each corner to make it easier to remove next time, then piled on the thermal compound with probably 4 times enough, so it should more or less fill up the entire cavity under the IHS. The CCD dies do seem to be slightly out of alignment in terms of z-height. When I used Flitz polish on them I could feel a "transition" between them while using the polishing swab. You could feel it trying to "grab" the slightly taller CCD die. I can sort of see it with the naked eye, but that might be my eyes playing tricks on me. I have no reliable way to measure that with the aerospace-grade accuracy something like that requires.
I have a heavy plastic jug filled with coins as a weight sitting on top of it while the paste compresses and the SuperGlue dries. It really is crazy how much extra crap they had to use on the PCB under the IHS with their stupid chiplet crap that requires extra junk to manage the chiplets. It's a wonder such an abortion works at all, but I digress. Intel seems to be going down that same path, unfortunately.

After about an hour and 30 minutes of tweaking and adjusting, I got this:
I'll submit it later as I am literally walking out of my house as I type this, but I'm very surprised that I managed to beat the previous record while having a LOWER BCLK. I gotta get better at tweaking things though, I wouldn't doubt that a 732-733 is possible. -
This should totally work. I mean, the 7980XE was capable of using thermal paste under the IHS with acceptable temperatures at 4.6Ghz all cores with 600-700 watts of power consumption.
^ This is how Jayz 2 cents ran his 7980XE. He didn’t use liquid metal after the delid. (He used a $3 dollar therma paste)
So the more power friendly 5950X can probably handle it.
it’ll be functional stock at least.Last edited: Oct 30, 2021 -
Before Fix:
Yes, I knew it would simply because I have done it before on older Skylake CPUs when I was out of liquid metal. Not as good as liquid metal, but still better than the stock TIM crap that Intel used to use.
And, now the temps are about the same as before the delid. So, confirmed success and I can sell it with disclosure of the delid, but no caveats or concerns about temps. This is acceptable in the context acceptability compared to a 5950X not delidded. I used MX-4 on it, so it might be slightly better with other paste. But, I am not going to mess with it now unless something happens.
This is a PBO max (+200) example, so I will have to see if it holds up with my 47x all core profile.
After Fix:

At least you were able to return it to a sense or normalcy and the delid may actually be a selling point to some buyers who want to experiment on their own but don't want to go through the hassle of delidding.
Either way, glad to see it returned to functional status.jc_denton, Papusan, Rage Set and 1 other person like this. -
Yes, me too. And, it is totally functional. Actually, I think near identical to stock. Here is a Cinebench R23 run set to realtime priority. Nothing wrong with that. But, I will test with 47x all core for the real deal. If it stays below 85°C that way it will be a selling point.
Nice, even core temps with minimal variance.Last edited: Oct 30, 2021 -

I am glad I decided to buy those parts from Brother @pathfindercod because even though I am excited that it is fixed now, within 24 hours I will be frustrated again with nonsense like my keyboard and mouse not working and needing to be unplugged and replugged. Had I fixed this first, I might not have done that and would later wish that I had when the opportunity presented itself.
Now the PC hardware hoarding nut side of my personality is going to need some performance management to avoid rationalizing a reason to not sell the Ryzen parts. The 5950x will rip the head off the 11900K and poop down its neck in CPU intensive benchmarks, but there is a lot to be said for the nonsense-free experience that Intel offers.
The 5950x experience is similar to a bipolar state of mind. You love and hate at the same time and both emotions are pretty intense because what you love is awesome and what you hate makes you want to kill something, LoL.Last edited: Oct 30, 2021 -

Exactly. Now you understand my affair with Ryzen. What you are going through with Ryzen now, I went through with Ryzen on the 1950X and trust me brother Fox, it was far worse during the early years.
What keeps a lot of people coming back to Ryzen is the potential. Remember, the 10900K and older Intel generations are from a very mature architecture. Most of the problems have been ironed out over the years ( Intel 11 gen and newer have those same early Ryzen issues) . Ryzen is still only 5 years old and AMD doesn't have the R&D to fix stupidity right away.
For example, RAM timings. It could be a Gigabyte issue or AMD's, but sometimes when I change a timing and boot into Windows, the old timings are active. Or I disable PBO and somehow it is still enabled. I can go on and on. But when it all comes together and you smash a record, I feel much more accomplished than I have on an Intel platform.
I love and hate Ryzen but she keeps pulling me back in when I leave.Spartan@HIDevolution, Ashtrix, Clamibot and 3 others like this. -
Weird. I have experienced that as well, and assumed it was something goofed up with the ASUS BIOS/mobo. I have had to reset BIOS defaults and then reapply the settings to fix it because it is like the BIOS settings are ignored even after power cycling.
That's why I need to hurry up and sell it, because I know if I don't I could end up having the silly benchmark-mongering side of my mind win the argument and end up keeping it. That is also why I was considering an X570 Dark. That sliver of hope that it would take it from good to great.Clamibot, jc_denton, Papusan and 1 other person like this. -

@Mr. Fox
Optimus PC has the 3090 Kingpin (Full-Coverage) rear Fujipoly thermalpads in-stock for $38 bucks.
I just ordered one. Just figured I’d let you know since you cancelled the block order, you may as well run just the pad. And you can get it right away. (The results are unbelievable)
I’m running one already, but it’s for the FTW3 and it’s the lower conductivity version. My results were really incredible. (But I had to custom cut the FTW3 version fit my 3090KP.
Also, @electrosoft and @Rage Set and or anyone else.
They also have the Full coverage Fujipoly rear thermal pad for STRIX models in-stock! I would highly recommend buying one. Even for a STRIX 3080, you would see huge temperature reductions. These are cut to the Strix PCB dimensions. So just remove your stock backplate, slap on the thermal pad and re-install your stock strix backplate.
https://optimuspc.com/products/replacement-gpu-block-3mm-rear-thermal-pad
I’m gonna redo mine with the correct Kingpin pad. (They never had it in-stock until now)Papusan, Mr. Fox, Spartan@HIDevolution and 1 other person like this. -
You know what, the reason could be the required duplicate of settings by AMD. However, it looks like those settings are hidden or disabled in the X570 Dark.
The question I need to answer myself is, should I wait until I have the X570 Dark to put the water block on my Asrock 6900 XT OC or do it now? Undecided.Papusan, Mr. Fox and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
I "stock" Fujipoly UE's for myself and clients. I have several sheets of 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5, different sizes and lengths. Spent over $600 about 8 months ago on them. I fell in love with them years ago when I was working on my Tornado F5.

I sent the wrong screenshot lol, here's the one with the mem tab opened:
I also know benchmate is required, but there's a category that just says Cinebench - R15 and another that says Cinebench - R15 with BenchMate. I'll just be putting this one in the category that doesn't say benchmate.
Edit:
Never had this happen to me, but I submitted it and it just says N/A for 4710mq rank and it shows 2 submissions for some reason only though I submitted one. I also can't find my submission and the only way I can get to it is this link. Does this just mean that its being verified or is my submission bugged?Last edited: Oct 30, 2021Papusan likes this. -
Thank you. It was very fortunate that things turned out okay. It certainly had potential to end very badly. Everyone that saw how it turned out will be able to avoid going down that same road if they have a Ryzen CPU, so everyone benefits in the knowledge gained from my bad decision.
What could make it a really good decision someday would be the invention of a hardware mod (or a better water block design) to allow running it bare die. Otherwise, the design of Ryzen CPUs is not very delid-friendly. Actually, I'm kind of surprised that a company like OptimusPC has not already created a water block with a cold plate narrow enough to accommodate this. It's really kind of silly that they all overhang the CPU so far they would have contact interference problems with the bulge at the end of the AM4 socket with the IHS removed. The overhang serves no purpose and becomes an unexpected impediment. -
The only time I've ever seen that happen to me is when I accidentally checked the box at the bottom indicating that I don't want points for the submission instead of only checking the box stating that I have read the submission rules. I've had it happen a couple of times from just not paying attention and checking the wrong box. I have not been able to find a way to undo that and had to submit a duplicate of the benchmark without checking that box.
Benchmate is not required except for the benchmarks that are reserved for Benchmate. You can actually earn points in both categories of the same benchmark, with and without Benchmate, by submitting the screenshot on the run completed using Benchmate for the benchmark that does not require Benchmate. The caveat is that you might get a better score on the version without Benchmate if you go to the extra effort of running it without Benchmate because it creates extra overhead that often lowers benchmark scores.
I personally view it as unnecessary bloatware, but some people are obsessed with the idea that somebody is going to find a way to cheat and they feel some kind of weird obligation to intervene with something that blocks it. It's similar in some respects to the retarded idea that outlawing guns will make the country a safer place. Bad people are going to behave badly. Good people (the overwhelming majority) will behave appropriately.
It's really dumb that AMD act like Nazis and require crap to be present in the firmware that makes their products less desirable due to crappy firmware. They are hurting themselves by acting like control freaks. If they were smart they would leave this up to motherboard manufacturers to decide. Things would turn out much better for AMD if they did.Last edited: Oct 30, 2021Papusan, Rage Set, Clamibot and 1 other person like this. -

There will always be exceptions, and it appears that you have one. 10850K more often than not is really low quality silicon.

I managed to shave it down to 300 watts by reducing load line. It seems to really be abnormally good.

That is a very good 10850K. I suspect running it direct die may have opened up a few bins as well.
My 10900K at 5.3 GHz all core requires about 275 watts of power compared to your 10850K's 300, so the 10900K silicon quality is definitely better. However, your 10850K is definitely a miracle of a CPU since it can even do 5.4 GHz all core. I'm pretty sure almost all of them can at max only do 5.2 GHz all core. It looks like you may just be able to do 5.5 GHz all core as well looking a that voltage you're running.
Also interestingly enough, your 10850K requires less voltage at 5.4 GHz all core than my 10900K does. My 10900K needs 1.48v while your 10850K only needs 1.45v. Funny how that happened. -
I noticed something strange about this 10850K when I first ran it on my old Z490 Dark Kingpin. It scales so good with heat. I mean, 100C+ before the delid and it’s like “Hey, is there a problem? What’s up?” Lol. Most CPU’s would fall over. -
Cinebench - R11.5 with BenchMate don't give points. All benches as etc Cinebench - R11.5 with BenchMate will later be transformed into the real Cinebench - R11.5 benchmark with points. But this won't happen anytime soon. Want points today... You can repost your benchmarks screenshot and scores done with BenchMate in the real Cinebench - R11.5 benchmarks section where you get your points. This way you can be sure no mods on the bot will remove your subs if they see it or scores being reported by others. Have seen this several times on the bot forum.
You can't/shoulden't post benches as etc Cinebench - R11.5 with Pre *Skylake Cpu/or AMD with Win 8/10/11. You need BM. Or just use Win 7 (no limtations) https://hwbot.org/rules?referenceId=5268

In most cases that is the best thing to do, and in most cases doing so produces higher (sometimes MUCH higher) benchmarks scores. It is rare for Winduhz 10 to match or beat Windows 7 CPU benchmark scores due to all of the worthless garbage services and processes that bogs down the newer trash OS.
I just sold the Ryzen 5 2600X on Mercari in 15 minutes, LOL. Literally that fast. Crazy. The buyer sent me an IM on Mercari before I closed the browser after listing it and asked if there was a cheaper shipment option. There was, so I changed it and within seconds it was gone. -

So far this chip can do 5.3Ghz around at 300 watts. 5.4Ghz is around 330 watts. However, there is a caveat preventing me from reliably doing this.
I feel like I can potentially break 3,000 with this chip in R15. It’s very good so far. And It responds amazing to high frequencies.
However, 5.3Ghz is the best I can do reliably because the Z590 is having a bug or glitch that occurs when 5.4Ghz is applied, or 5.5Ghz. Maybe it’s this bios, or maybe it’s just me. I suppose you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about once you setup your Z590 dark lol.. This only seems to happen with 10th Gen Intel and on the Z590 Dark. And I remember reading about someone else who had this issue, this is the first time running 10th Gen with my Z590 Dark.
2,905 in R15 is at least a daily 100% stable figure though.
I’m gonna investigate this a little more today. But anything beyond 5.3 will run at like 800Mhz or something weird lol. 5.4 will work but you have to use the efleet Evga app to properly set the ring OC. Which will then make all cores run 5.4Ghz. But it’ll still downclock to 5.2 or 5.1 for some reason. It’s strange.Last edited: Oct 31, 2021Mr. Fox likes this. -
