You guys think it’s too warm lol?
This is 5.4Ghz during Cinebench R15. (5.4 was showing 289 watts) However, it looks like I can reduce voltage even further.

I hate that this happen to you. It’s a real shame. I personally hate Delidding soldered processors. I feel like I’ve broken the CPU all the way up until I see it power on and work. I’ve gotten lucky is all. I could have easily cracked one of these things.
Delidding something like a 7980XE is a walk in the park!
One thing about the 11900K is the die is pretty large, and very thin so it is very fragile. -
Someone just randomly texted me saying they have a SP111 (10900K) for fairly cheap. Not sure if they’re negotiable or not, but the asking price is reasonable or I would not even mention it. But it’s from an old thread I had posted up a couple months ago.
But, it seems seems pretty incredible.
They said it runs 5.4Ghz with cache at 5.0 at 1.254 volts, with a 360MM AIO. They said the IMC will run 4600 CL17 dual ranks 1T.
They sent me a picture of it running OCCT with asrock timing configurator up.
Looks like a pretty astounding CPU for a very reasonable price.
SP111 is definitely GOLDEN sample worthy!! That’s a 5.7Ghz chip. For $600 bucks it seems incredible.Last edited: Dec 4, 2021Clamibot, Papusan and electrosoft like this. -
This is 5.4Ghz in R20. DDR4 4000 Gear 1.
I relaxed out my memory out a bit, and moved to 2T with 1.600V. Honestly, I’m gonna have to get better ram. I had to jack voltages even further to 1.715V and I managed to get through a few R20 runs simultaneously. But, it’s just not consistent from day to day. (It is pretty warm today inside my home) and it seems to be effecting my ram.
Anyways, this is a great performing chip!!
Will try 5.5Ghz after work today, I might just have it in the bag, since I have some temperature flexibility here.
5.4Ghz AVX is good, so 5.5Ghz with a -1 AVX should be good.

I gave the guy @Mr. Fox number and email. The guy is in Russia, but it seems legit so far. If I had the extra funds it would be so fun lol. But it’s Christmas and I have kids haha, passing it forward
[email protected] which is just wild. With how well that 10850K SP84 responded to 5.3Ghz, I honestly could not fathom what a SP111 10900K would even be like. What would that even be like? That is considered “Golden Sample” for sure.
I did some searching and I suppose golden sample could be SP100 or higher. This chip would qualify for sure.Last edited: Dec 4, 2021 -

Yeah this looks like a good one for sure. With you and your 11900k and if @Mr. Fox can procure this 10900k, two very nice socket 1200 chips floating on the forums for testing and results.
I figure potentially you're both keeping them warm for down the road when you sell them and I'll pick up one or both.
As for my personal rig, I've had it with my gigabyte "Newegg Bundle Magic" motherboard. It continues to disappoint over and over. I saw an Asus Z590 M13 Hero on Amazon open box for $150+ off so I ordered it to replace it. Hoping it doesn't turn out to be a Warehouse dud. I am talking with the guy from Russia about the SP111 10900K. Trying to work out a way for both of us to complete the sale in safely since we do not know one another. I think tomorrow he will put it on eBay for a private sale.
This is the first video I have done with my BIOS capture device. I haven't really had any motivation to do anything on YouTube and don't see that changing anytime soon, but I figured I would test it further. I bought it probably 9 to 12 months ago. It actually works pretty well.

I think I have been underestimating the Corsair Dominator Platinum dual rank 3600CL14 sticks.
I was so caught up with voltage and heat, that I just figured these sticks would get super hot and start spitting out errors.
The thinking and mindset actually came from my G.Skill sticks. The G.Skill sticks just ran hot, and with high voltage they would only hold out so long in memory stability. Because once that memory reaches a certain temp 40C-50C even they could begin spitting out errors.
Well, these Corsair Dominators Platinum sticks run ridiculously cool. So, something I didn’t even think about until now after discovering this.
I remember running my 4x8GB G.Skill 4000CL15 set on X299 Dark. And with modified timings, I had to keep air on them. Or they’d barely make it through HCI memtest with just 1.5V.
These Corsair sticks have tons of voltage and they are running 39C so far under HCI memtest.
This is at 4000Mhz CL14-15-15-32-2T with 1.650 volts.
I take it back, these sticks are amazing!!! The cooling on this memory is pretty good. I just didn’t take it seriously at all before. -

Despite the silicon shortage, graphics card shipments recorded a 25 percent increase this year, raising questions about the impact of scalping and crypto mining
With cryptocurrency mining remaining hugely popular despite pricing volatility, the issue with the consumer GPU market might not be due to silicon availability at all. It could be because miners have replaced PC gamers as the target market for AIB cards.
See below as well... If Nvidia wanted they could make all new re-hashed 2060@12GB as Founders Edition cards at MSRP. But it seems all hate the nasty word "MSRP" nowadyas.
Nvidia RTX 2060 12GB won't have Founders Edition, sparking price concerns
Once again. Miners won't buy many cards in the future when the crypto boom run out. And Nvidia and its partners know this (strike while the iron is hot). No miners means only scalpers left. And this should be easier to handle for the gamers. If not Nvidia also want to sell to them, LOOL

I know, the SP rating is clear indication on what to expect with a CPU. I really wish there was another way. -
MSI Z690, they started doing this as well starting with ADL processors., but it's not called SP - Silicon Prediction, it's called something else and it will show the bin quality being good or bad with VID, not sure if they have VID with VF curve like ASUS. Also no idea how ASUS vs MSI fare as I stopped reading the 12900K threads now. Also I think Golden LTX sample 10th gen processors do not have insane SP rating at 120 or such iirc, I think around 90-100 or something last time I remember.Clamibot, tps3443, Papusan and 1 other person like this.

That isn't going to work out after all due to complications completing financial transactions with Russia. We had multiple chats on Telegram trying to figure something out and ran into roadblocks.
The reputable ways are not available and the options that are available seem pretty sketchy and risky for both of us. eBay processes transactions in Russia using Payoneer, and it seems that is unreliable for Russians. Sometimes they never get paid due to red tape (red pun intended). PayPal and Escrow.com have blacklisted them. I know a member of this forum fairly well that has struggled with the same situation who conducts all business across the border in Finland because Russia's government has ruined things for their citizens by being so unworthy of trust as a nation.
I really wanted it and I think he was needing the money. By the way, it was a 10900KF (not K), which would have been even better. I don't think either of us are OK with the idea of getting shafted for $600.Last edited: Dec 5, 2021 -

MSI started using a CPU Force Power rating which is inverse to Asus's SP rating (Higher better for Asus, Lower better for MSI) on their upper end Z590 boards and have now extended it to their upper end Z690 boards.
Asus usually has AI/SP on their ZX90-A Prime motherboards and Strix and above motherboards. TUF, sub A Prime and lower boards do not have it.Papusan, Ashtrix, tps3443 and 1 other person like this. -

I ran into similar problems selling some accessory parts for my P870TM to a buyer in Russia. Very nice guy who I wouldn't hesitate to sell to again but financial safety checks are null and void. When he sent me payment via PayPal they immediately put a freeze on the transaction and would hold my funds till proof of delivery and verification which PayPal warned could take months. I can see why eBay would opt not to use PayPal due to these issues and basically leaving sellers in the dark for American sellers. I am sure it is even more sketch on their end for Russian sellers.
I actually sold him both of my barebones (P870DM-G, P870TM1-G) via eBay and he used a forwarding company as it was the only way it worked well for both of us as the forwarding company would open and inspect the items while in two way communication to make sure everything was kosher before shipping it to them as after that point the transaction was considered done. I wish there were more technically savvy forwarding companies like the one he uses that actually don't just blindly forward packages but will open, inspect and verify it is to the buyers satisfaction before shipping.
It took over a month and a half for him to receive the actual laptops both times (spaced about 18 months between each) as they get held up in ridiculous red tape and he had to convince customs they weren't full fledge working laptops as they tried to increase the import value for taxes.
I won't even do >$50 sales on eBay international after all the problems I've had. Over half the transactions had some problem or issue with more than one buyer claiming the items arrived in damaged packaging and the items damaged inside that was even shipped from eBay's global program itself.
I can just imagine the nightmare it must be trying to sell internationally to some countries for sellers in Russia.
Your best bet is to find a common board member he trusts on a forum and see if they can act as an intermediary but outside of that I can't think of a safe payment processor that will protect both parties.Mr. Fox, Rage Set, Papusan and 1 other person like this. -

Honestly, I’m great at 5.4Ghz. It is exactly what I wanted.
5.5Ghz loads up just fine and seems ok with fairly low voltages (1.500V). And runs through several R15 runs and things like that, it’s also great for gaming. But I’m certain it’s not AVX stable with 1.500V
I could easily do a 5.5Ghz with a -1 offset. And get by ok daily. But I don’t think it’s worth it.
I’m floored about having 5.4Ghz 100% stable under AVX loads though.
Next I will dial up the cache, and keep going on the memory in gear 1. (It doesn’t stop at 4,000Mhz either) I may just get like 4100+ In gear 1.

Best I ever saw IIRC is 4133 G1 but I'm sure there might be one floating around that was a touch higher. Scary when you see people stuck at 3733 or pulling more watts @ 5.1 than you at @ 5.4
That will be the chip you will ride till you upgrade to 12th easily. -
Yeah no doubt, the combination of getting good silicon and good IMC is fantastic.
Also, I broke another SMD off my other 11900K lol. And yeah it still works. I was actually building my wife’s work computer with my old 11900K, and I normally use the clamping pressure to press the IHS down to re-seal it. Well, the IHS moved and knocked off one of those little blue ones on the left side of the 11900K lol. This chip has had bad luck with SMD’s. And yep, she still runs like a top!! I definitely returned the 12700k. I didn't even open it or the MSI Z690-A Pro before returning it.
I went to my local BB to pick up some CFCs and I saw it sitting on a roller cart behind the counter so I asked the one sales associate I see from time to time what was up with that. Someone ordered it a few weeks ago but never picked it up. I asked to see it and it was a Vietnam bin so I said what the heck and bought it.
Since it is a Vietnam bin hopefully it is something good as they seem to be the go to bins with 12th gen popping higher SPs overall. I won't get a chance to do anything with it anytime soon as I have no motherboard for it. Strix Z690 D4s are out of stock everywhere as masses admit defeat on DDR5 shortages and resort to the D4 models.
It will sit there and mock me this week while I try to sort out this Gigafail Z590 issue.

None that I know of. He joined HWBOT recently and overclock.net a couple of days ago. I would not send him $600 except with eBay buyer protection or an escrow service to hold funds until I received what I paid for. He may well be as honest and trustworthy as they come, but no way to verify anything.
I can't help but wonder if those SMDs were intentionally placed there to make delidding a pain in the butt to discourage it. Had they placed them on the opposite side of the "ears" that the ILM presses against, delidding would be super easy. You'd only need to push the IHS one direction, moving it away from all of the SMDs on the PCB.
I don't know why they would want to discourage it. It makes crappy parts usable and good parts great. But, so many things tech companies do can only be explained as evidence of their evilness or stupidity.Last edited: Dec 6, 2021 -
Ive some how managed to rip everything off but the die.
I crazy glued the little SMD back on with a needle to line it up lol. I don’t know if it’s actually contacting the tabs (hehe). But the CPU runs, and will live its life running with the enhanced AIB & TVB boost features enabled with XMP.

I need to do more testing to see if I can figure out what the deal is, but I am thinking about putting the 10900KF back in my benching desktop, moving the 10850K into the work desktop and either selling the almost new 10700K or keeping it as a spare part. While the 10850K is better SP rating that uses less voltage for daily driver clocks, it seems like it has some kind of weird max clock limitation. Anything above 5.3GHz behaves weirdly in terms of VMax Stress throttling and Turbo Boost not functioning correctly. It has nothing to do with anything I can clearly identify. While the 10900KF takes more voltage, it doesn't have that behavior. If I set 5.4 or 5.5GHz, even in the BIOS the CPU wants to fall to 800MHz and stay stuck there. In Windows, I can "fix" it using ThrottleStop, but it kind of sucks having to resort to that on a Z590 Dark motherboard. And, even if I use ThrottleStop to force it to run, it usually ends up having a watchdog timer BSOD in anything strenuous like Cinebench at clock speeds above 5.3GHz.
It may be why Intel created the 10850K and charged less for it than the 10900K/KF.Last edited: Dec 6, 2021Clamibot, electrosoft, Ashtrix and 3 others like this. -
Haha. Yeah no kidding.
It happens sometimes. No worries friend, we all break stuff
Yeah I had the same problem. Dang beast at 5.3Ghz though. True daily stability very easily. I used bclk overclocking to get close to or around 5.4Ghz range. But, once the voltage gets too high, it still acts a little funny.
All because the chip does not support TVB, and once those voltage get close to 1.5ish range. The clocks throttle down.
^ I am guessing this is what’s happening. The chip needs that Z490 Dark KP board to stretch its legs properly with that unlocked bios. 10850K is more than capable. -
It does support it, but I wouldn't care if it did not because I really do not like TVB. I think it sucks, just like AMD's Precision Boost crap sucks. I avoid using either of them. Overclocking mediocrity for children.

Ok Corsair Dominator Platinum SKU 4.31 (Samsung B-Die) memory is really really great. It stabilized Gear 1 @ 4000CL14. With 1.605V. This is actually fantastic. These dimms did not even hit 40C after 8 hours of full utilization during (16) instances of HCI Memtest. And in between the modules, where it gets the hottest, this was around 41C. The ram overclocked great from 3600CL14 to 4000CL14. And it is 100% stable. Corsair says they handpick these memory chips, and I absolutely believe it.
They may not run 4000CL14 at 1.55V like some of these super exotic and expensive $400-$500 dollar 2x16GB sets of ram on Newegg. But this set can do it with 1.605V, and since they can stay really cool who really cares how much voltage we’re dumping to them.
Now my last memory was one of those expensive $500 dollar sets. It was 4x8GB [email protected] XMP. (They ran hot as a dog) Temperature was everything when it came to HCI memtest.
For only $200 bucks, I am actually pretty amazed by this Corsair Platinum stuff.
Also, the RGB is great because it can be turned completely off, and the memory look normal, or a very low setting. And it looks like a solid color, and not a light glowing behind a clear piece of plastic. With the amazing cooling on these sticks, and the bin. This is probably the best dual rank ram you can buy for $203 bucks.
The Corsair iCue software is not something I intend to leave on my PC. But you only need to set settings for RGB, or turn off the RGB once and it stays permanently.

I'll have to test my B-die sticks when my next array of parts come in over the next 7 days with HCI. I don't recall temps being that high during 4000 runs before.
I'll also play around with my budget DR Klevv 2x16Gb sticks. They won't touch those Dom Platz though.
Asus Open box Z590 M13 Hero should be here tomorrow or Thursday....it's always an adventure with Amazon Warehouse so we'll see. If everything works out, I'll be able to quantify and qualify both my 11900k and 10900k on an Asus Z590 vs Z490.
Asus Z690 Strix D4 just popped back in stock at Newegg so I ordered one to test with the 12900k I picked up from Best Buy.
I'll end up splitting my 4x8 B-Dies and going 2x8 on each as the Z590 will be up first for testing in the test rig. Z690 will end up in the main rig as that has the Arctic LF II 420 installed and my 1700 conversion kit is sitting in the drawer waiting.
Lastly will be the BartX IHS install for the X170SM-G
When the dust settles, I'll end up installing the Gigabyte Z590 in the wife's old Corsair case with a smattering of parts of have laying around for resell on eBay.
PS. I like the RGB of the Dom Platz and the Z590 Dark you selected. -
Amazing how we get our system exactly how we want it, and then once you have it absolutely perfect, It is time to do it all over again with 12th Gen haha.

Both Asus Z590 and Z690 boards (M13 Hero and Strix) can provide SP ratings so I'll be getting SP ratings on my 11900k vs the previous Asus M12 Z490 test mounts. I suspect it will be the same but you
never know. I'll also get SP ratings on my notebook 10900k and 12900k.
I'm not sure at this point but I do know that Gigabyte is toast destined for a sell build in the Corsair case.
Either way, If the Z590 M13 Hero works fine I'd be loathed to return it considering it was only $240 open box and has an army of mature BIOS files on ocn. It will be here tomorrow so it could always be an Amazon Warehouse "Special."
and will go right back but fingers crossed. With AW it is so hit or miss; descriptions routinely do not match what you get and it goes both ways.
