when you say Full Backup, how do you do that? Do I have to get Norton Ghost? or is there a way to do it with windowsXP or the Fujitsu Backup software... it's just burning an exact image of the hard drive onto a dvd-r, am I wrong? I'm interested because I've never had a computer without a recovery disk before.

And guess what. I got one unlid subpixel(red)[ :(!] I can't believe P1 missed that[V] it's about 1cm from the top, and 6cm from the left. You don't naturally see it in windows, cuz, windows have blue background.
After all I have been waiting, and still. But, atleast it's not as worth as always lid pixel, those very do suck.

Freeman, what did you said to PortableOne for them to check the dead pixels? (this might be obvious!) [ :)]

Did you just ask when you ordered it? What happens if the notice dead pixels, do they fix them or get a different screen. Is there anything else you should ask them to check before shipping to you?

I will be ordering next week (gulp) for a S6210[ :p]

Well--I have such a sad tale to tell. I finally got the courage to start playing with my beautiful new computer on friday, and within two hours I contracted the Sasser worm--I know how it happened. I'm too sad to get into the details. I spent five hours on the phone with Fugitsu (who were great BTW--spoke to four different technicians) and ran the restore disc that is located on the D drive four times--windows still isn't working properly...finally Fugitsu suggested I send it back to Portable One...I'm so sad...I have one more option before that--there is an authorized service center very close to my home and they said the warranty applies there--I guess they need to do a "full wipe" or something like that--at least that's what a couple of friends said...makes me wish I'd gone for a MAC...but I do love the computer--and had a very good experience with Portable One as well...[ :(][ :(][ :(]

since nobody deliver on Sunday, before you send it out. try this.
download this http://download.nai.com/products/mcafee-avert/stinger.exe from a difference machine, and burn it to a cd. it's very small, made by the same company that make McAfee VirusScan. this will clean a major known virus/worm. But, it should not be use as an antivirus software.
but it works very well in situation like your. don't hookup to the net when you do this, cuz you may got more virus. then reboot, and run Windows Update immediately after you login to the net, preferably if you have some kind of firewall install.

    To S6210 owners,

Do any of you have a process called xvshost.exe running on your computer.

    What is this?

The offending program isn't running on my n5010. Of course, I wiped the drive as soon as I got it and installed XP pro, but I believe I got most of the fujitsu programs/drivers running again-like the touchpad, on-screen brightness level, etc. The only thing I am missing is the automatic driver update. Couldn't resurrect that.

I am interested in getting a 6210. Did any of you guys get the extended warranty? It seems to be a relatively sturdy computer but I think I would like to upgrade to the 2 year warranty anyhow. How is the Fujitsu warranty (and the upgrade warranty)?

Another thing...how is the average battery life? Obviously it's not going to be the claimed life since average working conditions are way different than max battery life settings. Anyhow, is it over 3 hours?

I did not get an extended warranty, and do not regret it.

With normail use, like word processing and email, the battery will last over three hours.

if you are interested in extended warranty, some of the laptop in Portable1 came w/ free upgrade to 3yrs warranty, then buy it with your AMEX card. so, it add an extra year. now you get 4years w/o paying extra money.

    Can this turn a 1 year warranty into a 2 year warranty? [ :)]

I'm considering a purchase of the S6210 but I'd like to ask if anyone knows if any changes are coming up for Fujitsu. I'd hate to buy a notebook and suddenly find out the price has dropped a $100 the next day [V] or a new feature I really want is now available (such as the addition of a trackpoint for the S6210 if that ever happens.)

    Thanks.

THe 6210 is brand new. I wouldn't expect another refresh for a few months.
