    Hey, sorry for late answer.

You could go to the launcher tab, create a couple of new "Regular items" and assign diffent hotkeys for each of them, then make one of them load the Maxpower clocks, and one load the lowpower clocks.. That way you can toggle. Not as good as automatic, i know, but i dont think theres alternatives.

(This should work, i havent tested but i cant see any reason why it shouldnt)

    Good luck

when i try to schedule the tasks under data source i do not have an option for hardware acceleration, only core clocks memory clock and core temperature. also after i attempted to try this fix my gpu clocks are stuck on 400 800 and 300 even when i uninstalled rivatuner/turned powermizer switch on and off/and tried forcing higher or lower clocks through ntune. bleh

You need to enable hardware acceleration monitoring from the Rivatuner Hardware Monitor graph setup before you will see it under the scheduler.

Will this settings reduce performance or it is for both best performance and low temp?

My GPU is operating about 2~3c lower!

I only want to know if there is some issue if I set the lowpower clocks with lower values than that powermizer sets.

    Thanks

    Great guide.

there shouldn't be any... reb told me that for 9600M GT he uses 100/200/100 while powermixer clocks are 169/338/100... i use powermixer.. just want a little extra juice...

I've set to 200/400/120 that was the lowest values that the powermizer uses.

What is memory failure? I can damage something? Are my "lowpower" clocks in a safe range?

BTW, my GPU is a GTX 260M.

    Thanks again.

It's amazing, even in games, with full clocks, my gpu is operating with lower temps.

we actually concluded that it was undervolting cards in a way... so ur temp do go down.. i just hope this works with Asus G73 once mine comes... it would be great if it worked with ATI cards.

I was going to try undervolting my GPU using nBitor, or something like that, but there is a considerably risk of losing the hardware, so I stood still.

There is this terrible thing that happened twice since I started using Rivatuner. I admit that I did press apply to the setting of 200, 400, 100, but I noticed that this did not alter my clocks. Then twice after this while I had Rivatuner opened, a black "curtain" fell upon my monitor but it did not cover the top of the screen and it flickered up and down slightly and went away on its own after several seconds.

It is still doing it, even after Rivatuner is closed!! I'm raising my CPU voltages, but I doubt that is the problem.

HOLY (I would say FAR worse words if I could.) Upon reboot the problem was PERMANENT, but I managed to open a video game which temporarily fixed the problem. I then noticed that Rivatuner HAD BEEN controlling the clocks. I unchecked the box in Rivatuner that allows for overclocks AND THE SCREEN WENT BLACK. EVERYTHING CEASED TO FUNCTION. I held down the power button, and started windows in safe mode, uninstalled Rivatuner, and now I have a WORKING COMPUTER!!!!!!!

I had experimented with Rivatuner months ago, but found that it wasn't able to do anything, UNTIL TODAY. I'd be up for a BIOS mod over doing ANYTHING WITH RIVATUNER.

You look like a genius, I'm so new to this, I don't ven know how to contact you so could you help me out? I just need to know how to get that "Customize" button next to "Forceware detected" in Rivatuner.

PM me please, I can't seem to do it for some reason

Ok I've cooled off and would like to know if what happened to me was the normal symptom of an unstable GPU do to undervolting and that it is completely harmless to the hardware.

Yes, this forum doesn't seem the best built. I also wish the "My Threads" page was easier to get to and set up like Tom's Hardware's "My Threads".

I advise you to wait to get the explanation for what happened to me before you proceed.

As for your question, click the triangle button where it says "Customize" and click on the button that looks like a graphics card. Oh and thanks for the complement.

I also noticed that powermizer was turned off and when I opened the powermizer switch it had to install the registry entries, unlike before.

, I think this is because I just installed the new drivers (197.16 I believe), because doing all this made me figure out how I could install them (I had a recurring problem trying to get them to install.) Not only is powermizer broken, but the clocks are locked at 400, 800, 300.

I love how this forum just erases "bad" words.

Actually it is late and I am tired and I think it was actually Rivatuner's fault but I did a system restore and now everything is fine. I will probably try installing the driver again when I have some more patience.

i don't understand this. when you force performance 3d, the voltages are automatically lowered? anyone knows why?

Because normally games that needs the extra power would use the Extra mode, which has a higher voltage... Rivatuner doesn't detect this, and therefore it just uses the 3D mode, which has lower voltage = lower temps.

    nice info!

however, isn't it possible for a bsod to occur because of this technical undervolting?

Try going to the Power User tab, extend Rivatuner \ System, find ForceDriverVersion and set the value to what ever driver version you have without dot.. For instance i have 186.82, i enter 18682.

Hope it helps, im not sure though.

I think not...if it were to have a bsod caused by this "undervolting" I think it would have occurred at the first time that you applied this tweak.

BTW, I've noticed that my games appear to be running better or the same way they were running before, but with lower temperatures, wich is very, very great.

So, overclocking while using this fix is ill-advised? I get crashes when i bump up the clocks a small amount but with system tools it is much more stable

Ok, so this thing does work except for the throttle when you have a fixed performance mode set for the battery. It is also much better than the powermizer switch because with this you don't have to restart your computer. It will also be nice for testing the stability of a particular profile if you are undervolting.

i'm sorry but those were the best ideas i knew.. maybe u could try 186.81 drivers? They usually should work... but really , i'm out of drivers lol.. anyways , did u install each driver properly.. meaning did u uinstall old driver and everything NVDIA , run drive sweeper in safe mode and install new driver as that might be ur problem.

Btw it was a clean format. And no, i would not revert back to 186.81 because they do not support Flash gpu acceleration...

You can try 186.82 and see if its even IS a driver issue..

If not, then Rivatuner doesn't support your card.. Try asking for assistance at Guru3D.com

Hey guys, I had similar problems with my laptop (aspire 8930G)
I tried to complete this guide, but stumbled upon some problems.

    I'm running windows 7 32-bit
Powermizer doesn't want to run, it says powermizer settings not found at startup and afterwards when the program is loaded, it says 'not ready' at status.
Can't push the buttons cause the're not highlighted. So I went on to Rivatuner.
I have the latest version (RivaTuner v2.24c)
Everything went well untill I got to the scheduler tab, I have Core clock ROP domain, Core clock shader domain, memory clock and core temp.but no hardware option

Now, I have some knowledge of pc's but I don't want to mess with my Graphical card too hard and f*** things up.

I had this "colored curtain" problem once, it wasn't the driver problem, it was caused by entering the lower clock value, too low. in my case i had too use 169 for core clock, but i used 100 and then s**t happened

    now my problem:
when I set the perfomance mode clock to my GPU's default max(530/?/?), i get every 5mins the "nvidia driver crashed and restarted" problem when I play games.
i think the problem is riva locks voltage to 0.9 => unstable ( but powermizer increases it to 1.05 while gaming)
is there any way to control the voltage with rivatuner?
which driver are you guys using?
    mine is 195.62
