The only different between b3 and b4 is the CF and MoH bugs. It's the same drivers.

Okay. Thanks for the update and info on this Cloudfire.
My concerns were that in reviewing the 12.9 Hotfix, as compared to the just released 12.11 from the tests that were done, the bar graph showed very little if any "improvements" between one driver release and the new ones.
It seemed to be a little worse in some cases, so that is why I had to ask about this just to make sure I was understanding it correctly.
While the published FPS rates in games didn't go up all that much, my 3dmark Vantage scores went up about 3,000 points, which shocked me. I was not expecting this,
Before the 12.11 hotfix, my 3dmark Vantage scores were always around 20,600. Now, they are around 23.130, which is nearly a 3,000 point increase right there.
Since I am a newbie to all this focus and info concerning gaming as of late, I am not sure what this is going to mean to me or my gaming with an extra 3,000 point scores via 3dmark Vantage, but
the numbers are bigger, so it must be "better" somehow, I don't know.
Maybe you or someone else can explain the relative significance of this to me at some point.
I will just continue to see IF there are any discernible improvements to my 7970m on the games I play now in the next 3 months, and then decide what to do from there.
Hopefully there will be to justify keeping the card, but I am STILL looking at the 680m or whatever is newest GPU card out from Nvidia next spring that could catch my eye if it can be used in my 9150.
I am thinking of getting Batman: Arkham Asylum, and the new Bioshock game this Spring, and BOTH play MUCH better on Nvidia cards, so I will see what happens next IF there is a Enduro fix by next Spring.
I am trying to give AMD a shot here, because I have always been an Nvidia fan for the last 12 years or so, so I want to see if AMD can keep my interest during all this Enduro garbage.

every single game I've played since the new driver shows significant improvements in framerates. Even games that weren't heavily affected by enduro, such as bf3 single player, max payne, and metro 2033, shows marked improvements in fps. I am amazed at the framerates I am getting with ultra settings, v-sync, and medium aa. Max Payne runs at a buttery-smooth 60 fps with these settings, BF3 averages even higher than that on certain levels. These numbers are head and shoulders above what I was seeing before. I wish I knew what caused the performance improvements, but I'm sure that it isn't just the enduro fix. Like I said, games that ran at close to 99% utilization before are still performing better for me. -

I'm using 12.11 beta 4, 12.10 cap 1, and 12.10 chipset drivers in Windows 7 and now I can finally use my discrete GPU (6470m/7450m/7000m series w/ or w/o Dual-Graphics) in Minecraft! In all the past driver packages, it never worked. With Lenovo AMD video drivers I couldn't even use the discrete GPU and it would always default to using the integrated GPU no matter what I tried. With 12.9 it didn't work, and I haven't tried 12.10 whql official drivers yet but that maybe where my issue was finally resolved. I've got more testing to do.
I've also noticed smoother gameplay in BF3 (also with Dual-Graphics enabled). I'm excited to test some of my other games too. I predict smoother gameplay and positive results even though I don't have a high-end card like the 7970M (Enduro/utilization issue anyone?). I'm glad these latest generic AMD drivers work on my system as Lenovo takes a long time to update their AMD drivers.
 -
Guys apparently I installed the 12.10 and lost the fn-f7 switching....bios states integrated gpu not found.....any ideas?
-
Restart/Reinstall AlienFX/Alienware OSD and try again.
-
Guys, what are your fps when playing Crysis 2? I'm averaging at 35 FPS on ultra and hi-res textures enabled. Is that low?
-
Has any one tested Witcher II on these drivers? I have been waiting to update my drivers a long time. Havent messed with tem for months. Downloading the beta 4 now. But want to make sure I know wat improvements to expect.
@Prasad. So wat games are you playing mate??
-
Hello mate!
Witcher 2 runs perfectly well and noticeably snappier than earlier drivers. Currently also playing BF3 (also massive gains), Dishonored, Lucius and Borderlands 2.
-
Yes it is. I was getting around 50 FPS here, but that was with a OC. Without it, its around 42 FPS. Some scenes lower, but overall, it's improved for me at least.
Games I've seen most gains that I play a lot so far are Max Payne 3, Battlefield 3 and Borderlands 2. -
Does this have any significant impact of us poor old guys with 5870Ms?
-
Nope. 5xxx has already been optimized, you won't be seeing any optimizations or improvements. Probably next year 5xxx will be considered legacy and only be supported in quarterly released drivers.
-
What about the 6990M? I currently have 12.4 on my rig.
-
nope,its only for 7xxx series,for masive performance....
but you can put it on
-
BSODs came back today....as soon as I login to windows. !!!? Tried wiping and reinstalling the drivers to no avail.

I try to impress upon people to make an image of your C: drive just before loading new drivers (or uninstalling/cleaning/installing, whatever your method). This way if something buggers up, you can literally load up square one without any baggage. No need to hope 'undoing it' will work, because it can be like it never happened. -
Don't worry, there is a simple solution. Just install D3Doverrider and you will get your frames back.
Kudos to johhnyman. -
What a mess. Tired of screwing with these drivers. I just put the stock CD ones back on.
-
I did unintall those drivers too, tho I wouldn't suggest using stock drivers anymore, get yourself 12.10 WHQL, bets onces I had so far.
-
The stocks do cause Max Payne 3 crashes.
...tapatalk... -
Max payne 3 crashes because of V sync, Dx11 and the FSAA etc. Disable these and you should be able to play the game without any crashes.
-
BF3 seems to run quite smooth. Crysis 2 seems to be crashing often with the DX11 patch after the latest driver update. Witcher 2 is the most disappointing thing as the GPU under utilization is terrible. Even in Medium settings my fps drops to 20 at times. Any one else facing similar issues with Witcher 2?
-
Anyone got the 12.10 Beta 4 driver? That one worked great on my system. Can't seem to find it anymore...
-
If you mean the 12.11 Beta4 driver, you'll find it on the AMD gaming site or benchmark3d.com
-
yeah, witcher 2's utilization is lackluster.
with that in mind, Witcher 2 is a dx9 fully based game, so the beta drivers aren't going to give it justice... -
What are you talking about !??

my rig: sapphire HD 7950 OC edition dual-x fan. i5 2500k [email protected] -0.120V undervolted. 4x4 Gb corsair vengeance LP 1600Mhz running on MXP1.
just installed the new 12.11 beta drivers and tested out Crysis 2 DX11 + ULTA + HighRes texture (maxxed out possible)
before i always had my fps CAPPED at 50fps and in fights they dropped to 45 sometimes.
with the new drivers i am capped at 60fps. i thought something is wrong first cause i simply didnt expect this.i play the whole "Dead Man Walking" mission without EVER dropping under 60fps (i play with vsync always). i use MSi afterburner n fraps to chek fps.
this driver is amazing!
i gonna try planetside 2 now ..i heard its waay smoother now (ps2 is not optimized for AMD at all) -
