CRAP, I'm sorry that the server dropped, my router is a piece of **** and dies every once in a while (I'm getting a new one, don't worry).

 

added server but can't see it. Guess Its cos of your router. Anyway, I'll keep checking out the server if people play on it.
Can I just make the suggestion of removing the Dynamic Weapon Pricing and restricting AWP's and the Auto Sniper.

 

Ah you have a router in place?

Make sure you have port forwarding correctly set up for the router, and set up CS:S for that port as well when creating the server.

Otherwise, try cutting the router out of the loop...

 

I already did all the port forwarding and for a minute there it was all fixed and good to go (I had a couple of people on the server playing no problem) but since my router died cut out last I haven't been able to get it to work (I'm going to double check if the services are enabled). I can't cut the router out of the mix because its a modem/router combo and its the only thing I have right now. Ohh, and how would I go about getting rid of dynamic pricing and all of that, I can't find were the weapon options are in the server.

Edit: Is someone's IP 68.142.232.32 because I can see that you tried to connect but for some reason it doesn't let you through...

 

I think I have it fixed, can someone try connecting just to let me know? I'll check back in a few hours to see if anyone could connect but right now I gotta go to some robotics thing (some friends talked me into going).

BTW is the ending numbers in the ip of the server 27015 or 27016 or something else?

 

Sorry, it was down for a little while I was trying to get these little problems figured out. Its 72.94.136.79:27015, see if you can connect, if you can then I'm up for a few rounds if you are.

I think the router cut out again, but the server seems to work other than that.

Yeah, sorry about that wizard...I don't know if this is going to work. I have a piece of CRAP router (its actually a router modem combo) right now and it cant handle the strain. I'm shuting the server down for the moment. Let me troubleshoot this problem. Haha, wow, I get one thing fixed and another problem surfaces, I just love it.

 

thats the way of the world , but we should seriously see if we can get a load of ppl on once everythings running smooth

 

I won't playing CS for the upcoming days because my G5 just crapped out, so I'll need to send it back and get a replacement. And thanks for taking the time and effort to get this server set up, spookyu which BTW wasn't my IP address.

 

Server is down right now guys, gotta download a few big files. It'll be back up by tomorrow evening.

yes, xfire is great, it is like AIM or yahoo IM, also it show what kind of game your friend is playing and give you the option to join them.

I haven't play for like 2 or 3 years, well actually I started to play again 4 months ago for like 2 weeks then quit... I've seen some preview of the gameplay , HOW CAN YOU GUY MAKE HS SSO EASILY???? I get on a server and they shot me too quick that I haven't got a chance To shoot back.

Great shooting Jade; I'd like to join you guys but this week is too filled for me.

 

I dont mean to offend anybody here, but observing your screenshots Redsensistar, it seems as if the terrorists are not sticking together. By looking at the radar on the 1st pic it looks as if only 1 guy is covering long A. and by looking at the pic while in b tunnel, you are the only one in a mile distance in there. I dont think that is called teamwork, sorry.

BTW I will play in 1/2 hour. This final exam studying is eating me alive!

I don't care about teamwork, really. Isn't that the whole point of CSS? Yes, but this server is a DM only server. Just to practice who can shoot & kill the fastest. Which is more important than team work! I don't know about you, but with my shotgun and duel .40 elites, I can take out a group of 2-3 enemies. I've been in a "team" of 3 and have all been destroyed by an AWP. Teamwork in this game is fairly random IMO -- it works & it doesn't work.

 

Final exams in Jan? Are you in the UK? I'm guessing no.

And i am just so good at this game :

 

I played CS:S today for an hour or two. It has been a looong time since I played this game. So In total I am not completely useless (although I usually have more deaths than kills). Even BOTs kill me easily. BUT.... I learn fast.

A few observations (not moanings):

1. I don't remember headshots were so easy in CS and Condition Zero. Both to my head and my shots into other people heads ... Is this like normal? We are obviously all specialists in hitting other people's heads. Or I've got a wrong feeling? CS90 at 50m and I did three headshots in a row. Strange.

2. Also I don't remember getting stuck so easily in previous versions of CS. Here every little jump or crawl usually results in me being nervous for being so clumsy. I guess I just have to learn jumping and crawling again...

3. Bulpup and Krieg are (far?) less accurate than in Condition Zero. I remember emptying a whole clip of bullets into a guy, from a crouch position at 10 meters at most. Not one hitting him. That was happening in CS:CZ and now in CS:S, but only more often. SIngle shots and short bursts are much better.

4. PING issues - I play over wireless. I have small pings on many servers and 30 ms looks good to me. Now - even on best ping servers, with 10 players only I experienced more stutters than in any game before. Including tricky FEAR! I play FEAR combat on a 400ms server in Australia and I don't see anything like in CS:S. Any suggestions? Is it a server issue or my wireless?

But of course I like the game and it is fast and better looking than FEAR Combat for example. (FEAR is funnier in a way - how a strange statement this is ). Xfire works ingame too. I just remembered so many maps, but some are completely new to me. So shall we play?

Theres a reason for this one. Apparently the hitboxes in source are a lot larger than those in 1.6 or Condition Zero. Thats why the headshots are much easier.

 

Oz, Thanks for the explanation, I guess heads are just a bit bigger than we think! - we may play sometimes if you are interested.

crackhouse, aim maps and breakfloor are the best. those are my fav's.

 

Has anyone noticed this? Games run absolutely smooth when I'm playing on a server (irrespective of latency-until I kicked lol) but when I play with bots offline, I experience occasional slowdown and the whole gameplay is much slower. In other words, I think I'm getting lower fps during offline bot play than online. Strikes me as pretty weird, but I'm guessing a rational explanation is that all the calculations performed by the processor required by the bots is slowing me down, which is more demanding than all the data sent by servers .

No CS for me during the weekdays. Perhaps on the weekends.
