My HD 4330 device id is on the list above, downloading now!
A lot of cards are missing the HD 3200 for one. -
Installed in mine HP DV 3020sa without problems except the enormous amount of time to install it. ATI certainly have to thin them.
Now lets go for benchmarks...
Note: apparently they are only for Vista and Windows 7 x64 -
Installed without an issue, lets test them now
-
My Open GL Cinebench 11.5 went from 5fps to 7,5fps. So they seem to have had a good breed.
-
Sweet!!!
Installed fine here too -
Can someone post a screenshot of the CCC information center ? Had to tweak them a bit to add custom resolutions and fix screen scaling so i just want to make sure everything is in order
Dont mind the catalyst version since it shows the latest one you had installed, 9.11 in my case

Another G73 user got an increase in Vantage.
8,800 with stock driver
9,000 with 10.3
Free performance boost! -
why no 4890
-
played mass effect with new drivers and average fps went from high 30's to high 40's/ low 50's . . . I'm impressed!
-
Yea these drivers are great! Before I was playing Bioshock and Batman AA and I was lagging like crazy especially in Bioshock. Now with these drivers I ran those game very smooth.
-
Did you try to install them?
-
Tested Halo PC on my HP DV2's ATI Mobility 3410HD and I've noticed I can turn on a few more settings without a slowdown than before. Very impressed with this update, can't wait for the march release.
-
Hmm Beta. Does it mean that ATI will release the official driver for notebooks or do we still have to use Mobility Modder with the desktop drivers?
-
Yes, laptop owners will have now monthly Catalyst updates like Desktop. Very good change from ATI(except that Sony,Toshiba, Panasonic choosed not to accept it). Now ATI just need to get on with OpenCL.
-
I was able to install the driver for mobility 5730 on n61jq
-
brochiller, the 5700 cards ARE supported, it is just listed as 5000 series. It's the one with 68C0 in the hardware ID
BTW...did you receive your laptop??? -
MahmoudDewy Gaming Laptops Master Race!
Tested with Mobility Radeon HD 4570 stock on 680/680/800 GDDR3:
Temp:
strange temp behavior -5 to +5 degrees depending on the game
Performance:
Dragon Age origins: max settings,4x AA,1366*768 = +5 average fps and very smooth game play
GTA IV: med settings,no shadows,1366*768 = +2 average fps the stuttering is quite less than it was before but it makes the game kindda playable
NFS Undercover: max settings,no shadows,4x AA,1666*768 = +10 average fps, quite amazing increase in the performance in NFS UC even though it was quite smooth game but now way smoother
- the letter box in non native resolution is fixed.
- the 500MHz memory clock prob in the Acers aint fixed yet
I am kindda busy right now but soon I will test it with CoD MW2,L4D2,PES 2010 ,AC1 and the saboteur and will keep u posted
For HD 4570 guys with any temp probs you might wanna watch out the heat on these drivers because they heat up more than the OEM ones (compared to acer ones at least) in most of the demanding games.
But overall I have to admit ATI finally provided a decent driver for its mobile GPU. -

I only have one problem with this drivers that stops me from using them. They completely kill my overclocking potential. Using Catalyst 9.12, I can overclock my Mobility Radeon 4650 to stock clocks (550/800) (haven't tried and prolly won't try any further) for a nice fps boost in Crysis (playable in 1600 x 900 at high settings, fully playable in 1280x1270). With these beta drivers I get a BSOD as soon as the game starts.
I'll wait for March release (I have a VAIO, I wonder if there's gonna be some way of stopping the drivers from recognizing the manufacturer) -
Overclocking is a bit weaker on these beta drivers. I am getting 745/865 Overclock through GPUtool, and I haven't tested for stability much (beyond GPUTool renderer, 3dmark06 and furmark). I was able to get 760/880 before on 9.12. This is for Studio 17 with i7 and ATI 4650.
Forgot to mention that I got to max 8000 or so 3dmark06 score on overclock before with 9.12 hotfix and only getting about 7650 max using new driver. -
Oh ok that's good news. And no I haven't gotten my laptop yet, but it's to be delivered Monday.
-
Anyone tried this on a mobility HD 3650?
Any performance improvements? -
Yes! If you saw my previous post this update makes us run the unreal engine 3 a lot smoother. I recommend it.
-
time to overclock
-
Installing now finally. Will report back any issues.
-
It says I have 9.12 installed, thought this was 10.3?
-
Yes it does.
Installed without problems though. -
I tested this CCC 10.3 Beta Driver 8.713. It gives performance boost for me in DiRT2 as well as other games/benchmark.
Well, the CCC shows it's CCC 10.1 Version, but I don't care as long as the Driver is 8.713.

Alexrose1uk Music, Media, Game
The CCC shows an incorrect figure (usually your last installed set or 9.7), because its not a verified CCC build, just a stable one (doesnt mean it doesnt have bugs).
This *should* be fixed by the official release, and the driver itself may recieve a few tweaks between these being released and WHQL as well.
As long as your driver version reads 8.7x.xx you're good. -
Tinderbox (UK) BAKED BEAN KING
So ATI releases driver updates every month and the next will support notebooks gpu`s, but what date is it usually released on?
-
Alexrose1uk Music, Media, Game
Varies from month to month. The guy in control often gives a hint on his twitter. USUALLY it's second or third week of the month, but it varies, it's just always out within a given month
A couple of the previews thought the 10.3 seemed quite far along into development so it could be an early release, but we wont know til we hear official comment.
Still more regular than the Verde driver plan though, as at least you know you'll have a new official driver, generally within 4-5 week intervals at most. -
Some interesting results for these new drivers
For comparison I have just ran the benchmark on Dirt2 on my Desktop
Specs:
Core i7 965 @ 3.2 (Not OCed)
ATI 5870
3gb Ram
Game settings:
1920 x 1200
2x AA
Ultra Settings
Using the 10.2 CCC Driver I got the following results
MinFPS = 45
AvgFPS = 54
Using the 10.3 Beta CCC Drivers I got the following results
MinFPS = 54 +20%
AvgFPS = 62 +14%
Am sure you will agree thats pretty impressive increase for driver update -
Use EXTREME CAUTION when using this! After a few hours of scratching my head as to what the hell cripped my system (finally just formated) I narrowed it down to these drivers. Then I went on Guru3D and Overclock.net and it seems I'm am fare from alone from having issues with a HD4000 series card. It seems it is VERY picky on what 4 series card it will work on, and when it doesnt work in most cases most have just formated as it "breaks" other drivers and a few files in the windows directory...
I guess I can't complain too hard as I needed to format anyway... -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
im using it and no real issue so far.
-
I see you have a 4670 in your sig. I have a 4650, and it works perfect.
Just a heads up for people out there
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i'm in the same crowd i have a 4000 series card as well.
-
Yeah what surprised me is that the 4670 is on the list that it works with. Just use caution folks. I just don't want to see someone here at NBR to have to go through what I had to. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the vendor ID for my chip isn't compatible, but that doesn't make much sense as Dell is on-board with ATI doing this....
-
It works wonderful with my 4670
-
working so far on my "test" laptop... with an hd3200. Not one of the cards on the list, but i'm formatting anyways this weekend and figured what the heck.
-
Thanks for the heads up but I've been using them for 2 days now and so far so good. No problems here..

Does the example video below play ok for you guys on 10.3 , it plays garbled for me, I have to downgrade to 10.1 to get it to play correctly.
A few other youtube video play bad as well , usually low bitrate ones.
