10.3 Catalyst beta leaked!

I managed to get it to download, i had to set my bios to dedicated gpu instead of switchable and the installer downloaded the catalyst driver , I overwrote the Acer stock driver and it worked fine as far as i can tell.

 

im downloading it atm. ..... did anyone try it that can post some benchs ?

 

To install with a VAIO, simply choose "For Desktop graphics" and your OS, instead of "For Mobile graphics". The links are wrong, the Desktop graphics are the mobile graphics but with the installer instead of the downloader. And the OEM protection is in the downloader only.

 

Does anyone with the downloaded files want to upload it for the rest of us with vaios to download?

Not worth the download for HD4570 it actually lowered the 3DMark06 by 100 points + no noticeable performance gains in any game whatsoever

I am amazed it's only in the downloader. I'm sure Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic etc will not be too happy about this.

 

I'm sure they won't, but their customers won't be complaining!

I tried this one and got a 6800 3dmark06 (with the pre-installed 8.14 i got 6450...)
Its working!

Card is recognized as a HD5600/5700 series.

*edit i did run a round with 650/810 and got 7210 with the 'old' 8.41 drivers.
now i did this again with the 10.3a and got 7164..

can u plz tell which driver u were using before ,, that is 100+ than 10.3a drivers

3DM06/WEI score is useless. Next to nothing

I'm interested to know if he noticed any real world application performance drop.

BTW people 10.3 drivers is first mobility release (After they abandon mobile driver program while ago) so ATI might fix known issues with next version.

 

I haven't seen any drops, I've only seen improvements from the 10.3's

 

can anyone tell the importance of "profiles" in ccc. and how to use it..
for eg: for a game or a 3d application ,,

For games I tend to use Optimal Performance. That way you can fine tune your settings in the game's options without CCC interfering (for example high quality and optimal quality force AA). However, in some specific games some features of CCC can cause unexpected effects (Catalyst AI for example). If I want to get more fps I do a google search to find the best combination of settings for each game.

 

Actually, if you use Optimum Performance it actually tends to affect things you CANT control via the game options.
Balanced is usually the best way to go.
Catalyst AI should be set to standard.

 

I tried to get it today and got a "file not found" error.

 

I've reuploaded the contents, now I dont think I've lost any of the files but this is an unzipped repacked version (I'd already deleted my original exe before I realised the link was down)

It's a 7zip self extracting, all you need to do is go into the extracted folders and run setup

downloaded the file twice and keep getting crc errors on extraction , using 7zip

 

Its a self extracting exe, I've just tested the original here and it extracts to a folder fine. Only thing I can think of is that its corrupted on upload, or are you trying to extract it with 7zip rather than let it self extract (which could be causing issues as its not a plain archive)?

Will download from the link and see if mediafire has screwed it.

If the ATI mirror goes down again, I've rehosted my file at megaupload. Tested it and this time no CRC errors, so obviously something didnt like the file at mediafire.

I was using the beta 10.3 and my 3Dmark06 is in my Sig OCed & stock, but as I see in your Sig you have an i7 & I have a T6600 so you should get higher 3DMark06 than me .... even though WEI is irrelevant & not really a performance indication but I get 5 for Aero & 6.3 for gaming performance

mine is factory clocked (680 and 800).. but my WEI is same as u .. aero-5 and gaming graphics 6.3.. how did u got such overclocking???

when i bought the system , it was only 3800 only but then i updated bios and gfx driver .. now using 10.3a drvers..

if ur cooling system can take it u can go higher on the core maybe 800 , for me memory OCing is stuck at 850 maybe 875 but the laptop freezes at 900

but take care it is low-level hardware OCing that means you don't get the 2D mode clocks control which means you will be running with the max clocks in 2D(idle) & 3D modes

 

when overclocking u are turning off the powerplay ???

 

WEI is a bit weird since it doesn't take all your hardware into consideration. Don't worry about, my laptop's rating is 5.9 because of my HDD. Only way to increase that number is to go with SSD.

 

I have a modded driver on my computer, should i use driversweeper before attempting to use the notebook driver

 

of course that will help to remove all the left over of the previous driver in the system. in fact i too was a user like u, i did so and now i am using the new laptop drivers with out any issues.

 

hey mahmoud. everything works fine i tested overclocking.and i tested clocking core clock to 750 and memory clock to 880. and didnt find any problems with my laptop. wei gone up from 5 to 5.1 for aero no changes with gaming score still 6.3 . but 3dmark gone up from 4449 to 4600..
is ther any particular ratio for core clock to memory clock.

the .exe doesn't detect Display Driver to update, so I have to manually update my drivers

I tryed litlle OC on my 4650 and managed 725/850.Stock 450/600. It's 110% stable with this clocks in 3dmark06 (1280x800). I can do multiple runs and it doesn't crash . Score is 79xx . I can run it @745/855 but then it crashes sometimes so i don't count that. I'm pleased with resault. But games are not so stable @725/850 , even not at 680/750 . Why is that ? Have the games really become this crappy/buggy these days ? I remember old days with 9800xt,6800ultra,7900GTX . Things were much more stable.

 

It's your OC, not the card I guess. While overclocking my HD5650 I found out that 3DMark06 is useless for testing stability. I can run it with no problems multiple times and then the card crashes on some other test or game.
Try Call of Juarez Demo benchmark- DX10 and pretty demanding- usually one run is enough to check if you've overdone it.

lol i cant get past 550/800.
And use furmark to test stability. If it can survive 2 hours of a furmark stability test it can survive anything.

 

Furmark is crap , even the latest one .. instead i use UT3 or OCCT to put my GPU Oc to the test.

With those , bad OC will crash within minutes ..
