Again, I guess I won't be exchanging afterall... The problems disappeared...

Though I turned on now, and it got a system boot error and is doing a scan to find errors...

If that keeps reappearing, then you still got a valid excuse to push for a replacement. I assume the system boot problems were the problems that kept reappearing after repairs right?

No. I couldn't even use the system restore. Now I can ...

I will see if I can reproduce the CRC error.

    This. Was. The. Last. Straw.

Just got some weird HDD consistency check. Also, my laptop is doing really weird noises, has CPU whining... What the heck?

After updating drivers, my BFBC2 games take forever to load again. I thought they fixed this crap.

That bug isn't in this 11.4 preview drivers. Either reinstall your drivers or investigate for other issues. But it's definitley not the 11.4/11.3 drivers.

Gah, that's not reassuring at all. Lol. The only thing that changed is my drivers.

The 11.4 previews been out for over a month now and no one has mentioned far as I know on Rage3D or Guru3D about BC2 taking longer. I have BC2 and haven't had that issue either.

For some reason and occasionally, after 11.4 powerplay's been causing some problems. with it on, the gpu doesn't 'overclock' back to factory settings when a game is run (for my 5870m, it runs at 300/400, not 700/1000. I know it's powerplay because when I turn it off, it behaves like normal. Hmm, does anyone know how to fix this?

Change your power settings to performance?

Already set to high performance :( I can just turn it off before playing games and then turn it on when I am not. Restarting seemed to fix it too until something causes it to happen again. Weird thing is, during a game, gpu downclocks itself automatically when gpu is not in use (i.e. when a game's loading) so I don't have to worry about overheating while gaming.

I also concur. My BC 2 loading times are unaffected with 11.4 Preview. I think this is due to your BC 2 installation as my only guess. Things can occasionally happen weirdly like that when you upgrade drivers or a game patch in general.

So 8.840.2 is newer than 8.840.3. Ok. Since i have no issues whatsoever I will stick with these "older" drivers (8.840.3). BTW yesterday I was playing Red nation for a while and the game is soooo much smoother with these. Almost too smooth :) Also I checked HD Flash again and it is much better, smooth, nice, no tearing, no stuttering (but this could also be because of new Flash updates for 10.2). I am very happy so far.

I also tried a projector (1024x768 DLP) and everything worked fine and again very smooth - TV, HD video (scaled down of course), and F1 2010. I used VGA connector at 85Hz and native resolution of projector (It can show 1400x900 too). I connected laptop to my 42" plasma over HDMI and overscan issue is not present. All is working fine.
