Does it work for XP 32-bit too?
-
when is laptopvideo2go going to put the 169.04 driver online??
The threads are made but the drivers stay away -
wtf, they just deleted the 169.04 topics (vista 32 bit, 64 bit, xp 32 bit, xp64 bit) on laptopvideo2go :S :S
-
lol man, I see you have been posting on their forums about this too haha..and I bet the 100 views the 169.04 thread got were all from you lol
breath man breath
they probably are uploading stuff, getting everything sorted
look vista 32 and 64 bit are now live
xp 32 and xp 64 will probs follow -
yup, they are all up and ready to go on laptopvideo2go.
-

I was surfing on my PSP and went to laptopvideo.com and saw that they were online so now i started up my laptop lol -
-
-
Got a nice boost in Crysis. Areas where I got 20 FPS before (169.01) I now get around 24/25 (196.04). Woot.
-
did u try any other games
-
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Same here crysis runs a couple FPS better now.
-
-
Crysis with everything on High is now *playable* for me at 1440x900 (with an OCed card).
One more good driver to help optimize the game and I'll be able to play it smoothly -
wow.. I could swear I upgraded my drivers to the Latest about 5 times this week lol
-
Just dled the driver off LaptopVideo2Go. Installed and its working great. Just started up Crysis and the FPS went up from about 17-19 to 20-21.
-
Do i just install these drivers like any ole driver or is there some kind of special way of installing for these modded drivers.
-
-
Same as any other driver.
I dled the driver and the modded INF file. Then went about installing as stated in the Windows Vista Tweaks thread. -
ok cool. Oh by the way. what are people with Nvidia Quadro 140m getting in 3dmark scores with this new driver. I am getting 1741 so far, is that good?
-
WOW COOL!
My 3DMark06 went from about 3950 to 4150 just by using these drivers. That's a 5% increase in performance. As long as they can do this a few more times, this GPU will actually be about 30% faster than initial drivers. -
-
anyone else get like wierd white lines around all of the vegetation that is faraway with these drivers. Both of the 169 drivers I have tried cause these wierd lines to come around vegetation (trees and bushes) in Crysis. The 165s don't do thin, but the 169s do. Just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem. I'lll post some screenshots in a bit
-
can we overclock in xp with this driver? damn I'm better off to prepare for my exam tomorrow first, no game tonight.
-
is it just me or does their link not work anymore? everytime i click to dl the driver, i get a file called driver, not 16904_vista.exe :S can anyone please direct link me to the proper one? thanks in advance

)

is it worth to update from .01 to .04? anything noticable? any negatives?
-
No 3DMark06 score change -
What's the difference between using the "Have disk" method and using a modded inf from Laptopvideo2go.com to update the drivers? I am asking because I am new to this, and the "Have disk" method works great for me, but if there are some performance/compatibility increases with laptopvideo2go method, I'd go for that instead.
-
Not really sure. I use the "Have Disk" method myself and select "8600 GT" even though I have a "8600M GT". Haven't found any side effects and performance seems on par.
-
i have a vista update that reads nvidia 8600m gt driver update....is this the same thing? should I update through windows update...or get the mod file of l2g?
-
Get it from L2VG or NVidia site, I'd assume Windows Update only provides the latest WHQL driver, not the newer ones.
-
Just tried it in windows XP and same as the other 169.xx drivers it gives me BSODs in CoHOF. This 169.04 is actually worse than the other 169 ones (for CoHOF) since as soon as I start to play a match it immediately crashed.
-
Driver is installed but i haven't deleted my old drivers, can the cause be that? -
Always perform clean install . -
Help please !!!
I did a clean install, and if i check system information i see forceware 169.04
BUT in nvidia ntune i lost a lot of options (in the left part of the screen you normally can select stuff like system stress test, ....) Also the option to overclock (adjust gpu core and memory) is gone.... :S
And in Crysis I have 0 fps increase....
Help please
Left picture is BEFORE 169.04 clean install
Right picture is AFTER 169.04 clean installAttached Files:

The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Smgatt just reinstall ntune and you should be fine.
-
-
but i have +0 fps -
163.04 is so far pretty amazing drivers.
+5 fps overall, just like BB had reported with 169.02
Crysis demo on Vostro 1500 with 8600m gt @570/465.
Setting:
Ones not mention here is set to medium
Volumetric Light: Low
Shadow:Low
Object:Low (There isn't all that much object, and it really doesn't matter as most of the time, the game is set outside of a house full of pots, pans, bottles etc.)
Physics level: High
Post Processing:High
Averages: 30 fps
Max: 40+, and 70+ (IF and ONLY IF, you are looking at the right place, I.E, against a cliff, with no vegetations and water visible).
Min: 15-17, during scripted sequence such the scene of the burning suit, not gonna spoil too much, for those who played it should understand what I am talking about.
Game runs very smooth, with minor hiccups when saving, which is fine with me.
So, far people had report vegetation has white lines surrounding them, I have yet to experience the issue, I can also confirm that Powermizer, overclock and temperature reading are all working with river tuner 2.05.
So far so good, If Nvidia push out another driver like this one, and Crytek release a performance patch or alternatively a good tweaking guide is published, I'll definitely Pick up crysis. -
I get weird **** with crysis no matter what driver.
Im standing in this place when I first load the game --------- fps 35
I walk around a bit ----------- fps 28-30
I go back to same place as beggining ------------ FPS 20
I walk around a bit --------------------------- fps 10-12
After a few min fps back to normal, after a few min the cycle repeats it self....this is very irritating. -
-
Nope, i think it may be due to it constantly reading my battery and wifi status (displayed on top left corner)
the battery stays at 100% since Im on AC, but the wifi changes from 99 to 100% ...the keeps updating this.
So far I haven't found out a way to stop it doing so -
CRYSIS eat GPU power & this can be the problem -
-
Trying turning off program that make the display, could it be rivertuner?I understand that rivertuner has some on scree display, not on by default, but worth a check. -
if your running crysis on a notebook it will display that stuff on the top left corner
for most it only displays battery status...for me it displays battery plus wifi
EDIT: gonna remove battery, disable wifi and try again to confirm if that is whats causing the problem
169.04 released!
