I've added first TabletPC to the chart (it's also the only one on chart) Gateway M285-E

I didn't see any 3DMark05 scores for it yet, but based on specs I used a score of comparable notebook (~2150 3DMark05).

    Official site: http://www.gateway.com/products/gconfig/proddetails.asp?seg=cp&system_id=m285ebp
    Nice flash presentation: http://www.gateway.com/programs/convertible/img/flash/product_tour_new/index.html

I plan updating this chart for some time... moreso if I know it's up there to serve users better...

    Hey MrYman...

Would you also add the Fujitsu Siemens M1437G and M3438G:

    M1437G: 1.73, 1 GB DDR2, X700 128 MB, 80 GB 5400 SATA, 15.4" ...price in Europe 1150 euro's.
    M3438G: 1.6, 512 DDR2, 6800 Go 256 MB, 60 GB 5400 SATA, 17" ... price is around 1400 euro's

    M1437G 3dmark05 score: 2280 stock...overclocked: 2400
M3438G 3dmark 05 score: 3600 stock... I didnt overclock this one (is my brothers notebook)

These are interesting notebooks for Europians... very cheap and good hardware.

    Charlie-Peru :)

EDIT: Hahah! Incredible! I clocked my card over to 372:330 and had 2605 3dmark05 points! Incredible I just broke the 2500 barrier easily!

Does anybody know when the Amilo XI is supposed to come out? And do you think there is any chance the price will actually be 1800USD as mentioned in this list? Seems too good to be true, especially with the specs used for the benchmark in this post.

I'll try to post a review as soon as I get the beast. As I posted before, deliverydate isn't before first half of june, and I got some vacation coming as well, but I'll do my best.
Iwill use the machine as a desktop replacement and alfa-omega for me was that there where a good graphiccard under the hood and dual-core cpu. Cant wait to try out BF2, FEAR and Oblivion.

good to see o/c woks so well :) ....is it also stable?

can you tell me if these prices include tax and/or shipping costs? none of the prices i put in chart have these costs, so i have to make sure we deal with these notebooks the same way...

i found official sites for them:

    Fujitsu Siemens M1437G
    http://www.fujitsu-siemens.com/home/products/notebooks/amilo_m_1437.html
    Fujitsu Siemens M3438G
    http://www.fujitsu-siemens.com/home/products/notebooks/amilo_m_3438_4438.html

do you have links to web stores handy?

Hey MrYman... the prices of the Amilo's include tax but without shipping...

Hope I helped you... I will try to post more notebooks if my brother buys more (he trades in notebooks). I am so interested in the Xi 1546... I thought it had the same case as the M3438G, ist that true? The case is beautiful, sleek design and light. But I hope the cooling solution is better (it gets a little hot) and I hope it doesnt have this lagging issue.

Maybe interesting for some people: My brother has selled 10 M3438G. He had to return 5 to the manifacturer because:

1 notebook didnt boot up at all (BIOS and chipset didnt help)
2 notebooks had a problem too: fan wasnt working at all! The CPU became 90 degrees while running 3dmark05 (I was helping him)
1 notebook had a problem that the boxes (sound) didnt work.

So I must say the M3438G was a buggy notebook. I hope Fujitsu Siemens will restore its name with the new Xi1546...They better be.

    Charlie-Peru :)

    with my spec'd Dell 9400 or E1705, i had 2031 3Dmark05 score with default config/drivers (standard Dell image) with a 7800 Go, 2.13G dual Core, 2 gig's ram, 100 G 7200rpm HDD.

after reformat, reinstall XP, MobileForce drivers (latest), 7800 Go o/clocked core 340, 900 mem, i had a score of 5483 marks...big difference.

No you have posted in the right thread. That is a nice score by the way :)

You can see your mem and core by downloading ATI Tray Tools, a great program to overclock your card or just to see your speeds.

First of all: I dont give any guarantee about this overclock. So if something goes wrong, I dont want to be the person which has caused this.

I guess your core and mem are 350:330. A safe overclock is around 5%, so that
will be around 366: 346... Check ATT when it gives full numbers, so no 366,25 or something. If the core and mem are full numbers for both, you have a good combination of speeds.

Thanks for the info.I only just got my laptop so i think i wont play around with it just yet although it seems real interesting. Does overclocking it that 5% improve it alot?like during gameplay?or is it just to boost thescore for benchmarks? oh yeh 344:331 are my core and mem.

No problem, hope I helped you.

If I look at your specs I see you have a wondefull machine. I won't overclock the card, unless you play very intensive games like FEAR or Oblivion. Your notebook should run these games fine.

Overclocking can give a great boost. My default (351:297) has a score of 2280. With an overclock using a CoolingPad! (372:330) I had a score of 2605. In game I also get much better results (boost of 6 fps at Oblivion).

I do not recommend overclocking without a cooling pad. If you are interested in a cooling pad, check the Accesoires threads, there is a nice post there about cooling pads.

Now I have my 5th laptop and I NEVER have been using a cooling pad and I can say that I overclock cards to the limits (now from 450/450->510/510 so it's far more than 5%, 12% to be exact but on previous Sager I put mems from 1100 to 1305 and that's OVER 18%!!) And that's what I called overclocking, 5% is nothing. It is really hard to burn your GPU but most people are afraid of doing that.

Hey Mag07... sorry to say it but that is a low 3dmark score for you mate. I truelly recommend installing Omega drivers, I bet you score over 4000 if you do that.

By the way, good looks that S1!

    Charlie-Peru :)

Warrenf, a X1400 hypermemory in that Dell scores around 1700 3dmarks05 points. You will be able to play any game, but not at big resolutions.

Here's my machine if you want to add it. I'm sure the price/video-power ratio will be horrible, but oh well :)
Machine is in my sig, although it doesn't look like it's available as a prebuilt system anymore (dv8280us) but a dv8000t can be configured identically for $2079.99. Stock out-of-the-box 3dmark05 score = 2000 marks even.

If mine knowledge is correct, optimal core speed of go 7800 is 350mhz (after nvidia) so u still have underclocked card. I think that Dell underclocked go7800 because of battery life.

    :D :D 3DMark05 - 8560+ overclocked. 560/1150:D :D

This is for 7900GS owners only...Read this thread carefully and download the ISO provided in it. You can not use an app like RivaTuner or Coolbits to overclock the Dell E1705, adjusting the sliders does nothing. You have to flash the bios instead. Read up and enjoy you'll be thanking me later. I'm currently at 8560 on 3DMark05 and still going.

    Have fun!!!

Hey swank that is some great news there! I am guessing around 6000 3dmark05 with the stupid drivers from F&S. I think it should hit 7000 easily with the latest Omega drivers. Dont forget to turn of Bluetooth and WLAN (gives better scores :))

If I get above 7000 I'll be more than happy  I'll be going on vacation  a couple of days later as well, so I'd better hurry if I'm to give a short review of the notebook. I should probably download 3dMark06 as well......

    Thanks swank!

I am so curious about those scores, can't wait to see them. Can you please give your configuration of the Xi1546. Does it have Core Duo 1,66 Ghz or 1.83 Ghz or 2.0 Ghz. Does it have 1 or 2 GB RAM. Do you have the 1920*1200 or the 1440*900 screen?

    Thanks!

    Charlie :)
