The spec I got from work is T2400 (1.83 Ghz) cpu, 2x80Gb Hd's, 1Gb ram and 1440*900 screen.
I'll probably go another round with HL2, when I get it.
    Only 4 days left :D

Great to hear that swank! Great configuration, RAID0 rules! CPU is also very good, but I must say that 2 GB would be a wiser choice for this monster. Or else the 1 GB is the bottleneck in games. But if you are a occasional gamer, 1 GB is fine I guess. I would go for 2 GB personnaly.

Hell yeah I know...2 Gb ram would be a much better choice, but that's the deal I got from work
I'll probably upgrade to 2 Gb ram sooner rather than later because I DO play lots of games :D

Swank you will have the great notebook then. I only dare to dream of it. T2400, 2GB, X1800, 2*80GB Raid0...

Thats just great! By the way upgrading the RAM in Fujiitsu Siemens notebooks is very very easy. Good luck if you are going to upgrade it.

Got my Amilo xi last night, so I didnt get much chance to test it, but I managed to do some benchmarks.
    3dMark05 out of box 5689.
    3dMark06 out of box 3358.
And here's the funny part. I installed the latest omega drivers and the score went down a bit.
    3dMark05 omega drivers 5535
    3dMark06 omega drivers 3152

Can't quite get my head around this. I've used omegadrivers before on my stationary pc and I always get higher score in 3dMark. Any thoughts???
What settings do you people out there use (ati driver settings)when benchmarking laptops in 3dMark.

By the way, the screen was excellent and HL2, BF2, Oblivion and Fear looked great.........

    Hey swank!

Thanks for those scores mate. Very very strange indeed, getting lower scores with Omega driver . What I really recommend is you to reinstall Windows again. It really helps! After doing that I would just install the drivers from Fujitsu Siemens, I see Omega drivers don't work with this X1800.

Thanks for these scores. I guess 6000 3dmark95 is the limit of the X1800 at stock.

Now it looks like the x1800 is underclocked from factory. It had a core clock of just below 400 mhz, on the ati page it stands with 450 mhz. I tried ati tool and was able to get it stable on 460 mhz , at that point I didn't bother to go higher. So far so good. The trouble is when I try to run 3dmark again it jumps down to around 259 mhz. I havn't the time right now to figure out what's going on, but if there is anobody who has some pointers to what I can try, I would appreciate it.

Hmm that is strange.. I presume you have ATI Tray Tools? Then go to overcloking. Do it manually until you find a good core/mem ratio. So not 356.25/438.75 but something like 388/440. After that click on Apply. And you have overclocked your videocard. Just try to run it again.

    Hi, swank!

As you may know, there is a discussion about the so-called 'Lagging Issue' that affects some notebooks from Amilo Mx43x series (please, see this thread http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13089&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0). It's a long thread, but the issue is pretty much outllined in Borkar's summary ( http://www.notebookforums.com/thread121724.html). So, the big question for me and some other folks out there, is whether Xi 1546 has the same problem.

Could you, PLEASE, comment on this and tell us if you notice lags (image freezes) in games or get the 'brrrr' lag during video/DVD/audio playback on your notebook?

And, of course, I just can't wait to see your benchmarking results with ATI X1800 overclocked. Just want to know how good the mobile ATI X1800 is.

And, just one more question. How hot does ATI X1800 get at default frequencies and when overclocked? Some people say that it can hit 95-100 C with the default frequency. Is it true?

Can some one explain to me how the Dell e1705 scored so poorly on the table on the main page? I have the same specs (minus the WUXGA screen), which includes the 2.0ghz processor, 2 gigs of ram, 7900gs, and 100gig 5200rpm harddrive. With my notebook I scored a 6302 on stock settings and the tweaksrus 91.28 drivers.

hmmm. i'll update table with your score -- i think that 1705 is sold with different cards, including ati x1400, and prob. that score is with some slower card than yours 7900gs...

    Thanks Charlie!

Thanks for info, hope everyone would be so helpful, so I don't need to constantly check for new notebooks, just replies here ;)

I'll check it ASAP and put it up in the table, sounds like a great newcomer...

I'll be adding just notebooks with scores over 3000 in 3DMark05, or else there will be just too many of them, and anyway, we are interested in speedy ones, aye :) I'll leave up the current ones which are below 3000, as a reference point for comparisions....

Also, I'll add ANY TabletPCs which are at least decent for gamming...

I checked Amilo Xi 1546 on their website, surprisingly they are very obscure about the specifications of this model. They alway use "UP TO 2GB" or lines like this instead of an exact description.

Finally when I tried to buy, I ended up with the only opion to buy at 1084 GBP (about 1950 USD) for T2300E + 1GB RAM + 80GB HD, I can't even check what the video ram is!

Quick corrections for the A8jm listing: resolution is 1280x800, not 1280x768. Also, weight is listed at 2.39kg.

    Amilo M3438G-1,73GHz Pentium M, 512MB, 60GB 5400rpm, x1800 256MB

    5161.

    1000€ + 425 for the x1800.

Cool! With a 1,3 conversion for the dollar, that comes down to a price/performance ratio of 2,79 ;)

    Me wins!

    Hi, Ice-Tea!

Have you actually upgraded your GF6800 Go to ATI X1800? Because if you have, could you, please, describe the exact steps to do that?

Also, what used to be the performance score for your M3438G with the old GF6800 Go, as opposed to 5161 now?

The reason for my questions is this discussion: http://www.amilo-forum.com/topic,109,-Upgrade-M3438G-Video-Card-6800go-to-7800go-from-eBay.html

If there's no way to make GF7800 Go work on M3438G, and if ATI X1800 can perform as good as GF7800 Go does (or, even better), then the ATI card could be just the thing we need.

Just can't wait to read your reply to this :) .....

I need to bench my notebook with the GF6800 for a real comparison, but here's a 3438 benched. Note that he has a faster CPU and more RAM.

Yes, I upgraded. I ordered the card for a costumer that broke his own card and benched and tested it before shipping. There's a discussion on the German counterpart of the amilo forums about it.

The steps are fairly simple, but I had to addapt the heatsink (15 minute dremmel job) and I modified the fancircuit a bit. For that, you need some basic soldering skills or someone who does.

I'll be cooking up a tutorial with pictures over the weekend that will be on my site. I will also cook up a review with the upgrade procedure for notebookreview if that's ok with Abaxter, but I haven't heard from him.

I'll restate this again, just to make sure everyone understands. I do NOT promote this upgrade. It's more expensive than it has a right to be. It made sense for my costumer because he had to replace his 6800 anyway and he had only to pay an additional 125€ for the x1800. But if your 6800 is working, 425€ for a 40% performance increase is a LOT.

I do have ati tray tools, but when I goto overclocking settings it is disabled. I can turn up the levers in core and memory speed, but I'm not allowed to "apply" them. BUGGER!
    Any thoughts...
I read in the ATI tray forum that the overclocking capability wasn't up yet in the X1-- series http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=187468 , but if that implies the latest ATI Tray Tool or not, I'm not sure. Hopefully there will be a new version that will support this, I hope...
Anyways, so far I'm happy with my new laptop. It's not to hot, and I havn't had any hickups/freezes in watching movies and/or games and every game I have thrown at it works great.

Oh no wait I know why it is disabled. During the installation they ask: is your PC a notebook/IGP?

My guess is that you clicked Yes, but you had to click No. Clicking yes disables overclocking.

No I definitly pressed NO, when I installed the driver, but I probably will try different drivers and press NO several times, so we just have to see :)
But according to the link to ATI Tray Tool forum, it really looks like its a software thing and that it will be sorted out.

swank, kind of drunk right now.....................

As I have told u before. The Amilo Xi is underclocked from FS to just below 400 mhz. As ATT doesnt support overclocking on the X1--- cards (yet) I tried powerstrip and clocked the core up to 450mhz that is supposed to be the stock core (according to the ati web site) and got a 3dmark05 score of 6177. wohooooo....Quite a bit jump from 5700 that I got out of box and what MrYman has in his excellent 3dmark05 chart (5766 with 2hz duo and 2Gb ram).
I used the latest ati drivers.

And I will probably do so in a week or two. BF2 definitly needs 2gb ram to work properly without any hickups.
Was also nice to be able to play COD2 in dx9 mode. Big difference graphic vice. My stationary could only be playable in dx7 mode.

I have Oblivion and it works like a dream with all the graphic turned up and 1440x900. Have only had time to play about 5 hour in the game, but both indoor (cave) and outdoor works fine. Nice eyecandy for sure......
Played through the Prey demo as well with everything on max, no problem.

Could you also add scores for Zepto's best notebook Znote 6615WD? Zepto makes powerful gaming laptops, packed with geforce go 7600, 512 Mt RAM which operates at 400 Mhz on the chip, and 750 Mhz (DDR) on RAM. I think Znote 6615WD would wipe the floor with many of the notebooks within same price range, at least if it's well configured...

I have to say that this list has to be seriously updated with respect to the NX860XL info. My computer, as seen in sig, ran 3dMark05 at 6015 and it cost me $2300... I'll get a screenshot soon as I run it again.

3D05ed mine last night (specs in sig) I got 2110, no overclocking or anything. I got the performance laptop2go driver, and changed pre rendered frames to 0 via coolbits. It runs oblivion amazingly for a 12.1 incher. Ive got it at 1024x640. Full view distance w/ all distant objects/buildings etc. All other view distances at full, but grass is off. Thats the biggest performance hog, and I dont mind it off so its ok. Textures at large and shadows on medium. Bloom instead of HDR so the lighting is still good. I get 40-50 frames indoors, and 20-30 outside. Its definitly playable and looks great on the truelife. I was really suprised what this thing can do aside from the less then impressive benchmarks, its still not a bad gamer.

Also put in HL2 & EP1 with all full specs, including HDR in EP1 :) Minus Vsync, but its useless anyway, and minus AA. But some AF, 4x I think. 1280x800 resolution (native) looks great and runs at 30+ frames always.

Nope. That means pound - English currency.

The Euro symbol is € (assuming your computer's characterset *has* the euro character, of course).

I have an x700 with only 64 megas. I get only 1700 3d marks in 3dmark05. I have the latest omega drivers. Can I do something to improve this score? In the latest omega drivers, there is an option to enable hipermemory?

    Thanks

The latest drivers enable HyperMemory by default, so you are already using it. 3DMark05 likes video memory - I'm surprised you got 1,700 points. 64MB of video memory is the limitation, and I don't know how much better you can do. Could always try overclocking it.

    Hey Chaz,

Dont you find that score of the Compal very very low? I mean, it is even lower then the 6800Go 256 MB (3600 3dmark05). I always thought that the 7600Go had a score of ~3500-4000.

Did he had the latest drivers and everything at the background of?

    Charlie :)

It is low, but the GPU is underclocked for whatever reason - clocks are 350/350. Disappointing, but I didn't have any problems getting playable framerates in the latest games. It can also be overclocked a bit to compensate - I had 450/369 and got around 3500.
I used both the 83.90 and 91.31 drivers, and received the same score.

It's underclocked to 350/350 as Chaz said. I find that very strange in a 15.4" notebook to have an underclocked GPU. And underclocked by quite a bit. Now at least it is not as bad as the MBP's X1600. It's only 128MB's and is underclocked by even more!

    Chaz I have one question.
I was looking in omega drivers menus and I didn't find nothing about hipermemory. There is some way to know if I'm using hipermemory? The clocks of my x700 are: 358 core and 345 memory. How can I overclock?
