Do a thread search for some overclocking threads. . . there are a lot of them. HyperMemory is enabled automatically.

first let me say im not trying to start a flame here but im a little confused.i was looking at the 05 scores listed on the first page of this thread, and i must say they all seem low for the hardware involved. for example (2.8 GHz AMD FX-60, nVidia 7900 GTX 256Mb, 17" 1680x1050, 2GB, 2x100GB 7200rmp, 5kg, 1h) that machine with an fx60,and a 7900gtx scores a bit lower than my desktop with an opteron 144 and 2x7600gs cards in an sli. the desktop version of the 7900gtx a single card smokes mine easy. are the notebook versions of these high end cards really crippled or what.

    Hi Folks,

I have an Xi1546 (2.0GHz, 1GB, 2 x 100GB) that came with XP Home. I've had to install XP Pro for work, which as it turns out is not supported by FSC :( , and since then I've had the dreaded BSOD with "Stop errors" / "IRQL less or equal than", especially while gaming. I suspect it's the FSC version of the catalyst driver, and I would like to install the 6.6 Catalyst Driver, but it won't let me

DH Mod Tool does not support the X1800 yet .... any ideas?

    BTW, I get 3079 on 3DMark 06 .... haven't run 05 yet.

    Chrz,

    TReBeL

    I had the same problem.
Try updating the ati drivers through the device manager and don't update with the automatic options, but "choose" which drivers you would like to install. Then you can choose the x1800 from the list. It worked for me.... :)

Thanks for the great topic but there is something you need to consider, u wrote:

"-- Most portable for gaming: Asus W3J -- very good gaming capabilities, it's thin and light (2.2kg)"

Shouldn't the Asus A8Jm be a better protable gaming notebook judging by the better scores, specs and overall value (score/price) than the Asus W3? Also taking into consideration the fact that it (AJ8m) weighs only 200g (2.4kg) more than the W3 and is almost the same size!

Yes, the desktop versions of these cards are usually not comparable to their notebook equivalents (this has been true for quite a while.... sort of like how the ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 was not the same thing as a desktop Radeon 9700).

Hrmm, is that right? So it actually scores lower than the previous P105-S912? I wonder why that would be. Only thing I can think of is that the P105-S9312 has a 200 gig 4200RPM HD, but it also has more RAM factory installed, and a 2GHz Core Duo instead of 1.83 GHz. You'd think that would count for something.

I don't think it had much to do with the hard drive. I have updated drives and it scored much higher, can't remember what it was off the top of head. Will re-test and post back later.

Just noticed that the Gateway M285-E and Toshiba M7-117 Tablet PC's are 2.8kg each. Doh!

This gotta be the biggest prank you can do to your employees - making them carrying around on their arms all day! I'd quit that job if I were in their position...

    I was bored so I overclocked my go7300 to see what I can get;

    Dell E1505
    T2300 2GB OCZ 667MHZ
    Go7300 433/739 Dell driver

Perfectly stable and it stays 5C cooler than a stock X1300(which was giving me a problem with my firewire soundcard).....

i'm new to the whole benchmarking scene, what resolution are you supposed to use when you benchmark? 1024x768? are you supposed to turn down all the settings for your video card to the lowest/performance before you start?

I'd Like to see some marks for the X1600. I'm looking at getting an MSI 1039 but wonder if that card is any better than the x700 that comes in the 1029?

We use the standard test in 3DMark05, 1024x768 resolution. If you download the free version, that is the only thing you can run.

Hey guys ill throw my score in.

    System in sig

    3dmark05

    NON OC
    core 350 mem 350 Score - 3058

    OCed
    core 480 mem 361 Score - 3601

Respectable scores but had to be OCed. Im kinda disapointed as are most HEL80 users about this underclocked GPU business. Comparable systems are getting 3500 out of the box

I am still pleased with the comp thou as chaz has pointed it out it throws down just fine on new games ( runs FEAR great )

Hey i just ran 3D Mark 05 on a Qosmio F30 that has the 7600 128mb and it scored 3700 marks!! That is very high for a 7600 with jst 128mb as iv heard people with the HP 8000 with the 7600 256mb only scoring 3500!... Can anyone take a guess at the reason for this?? I think its coz the Qosmios have great drivers in them (Qosmio Engine) but could be wrong..

Could just be luck and the way the systems are set up. Tbh, I dont think Qosmio engine has a thing to do with it, they're usually just slightly tweaked/rebranded manufacturer drivers anyway.

Entire system setup DOES have an effect in 3Dmark, and no one system is the same.

My X1400 scored 1911 points in 3DMark 05 with catalyst 7.2 drivers in Vista Home Premium. I guess it would be slightly higher than that in XP.
