I just have the NP9150 and NP6110. The other stuff is just review samples provided to me...
-
Haha, I just ordered an Aurora R4 with the 690 and it's still being prepped for shipment. Meanwhile, I have been keeping track of the 780's performance, and I have to tell you: I am excited for the 790! I may have the 690 for less than three months then throw a brand new 790 in there.
Gotta love technology.

Alienware make great notebooks but I would have to question the value of their desktops.
-
^That goes for all system builders...

I can fully understand you. I replace my laptop approximately every 12 - 18 months, not just for the performance gain but also for the reliability. I have just the one computer and it MUST work everyday, all day and then play at night, and I work a long long way from any tech support. So I look at the extra expense as a form of insurance.
Of course it is also nice to get a nice shiny new toy every 18 months  -
It's my first desktop computer, ever, so I guess I'll found out how well it works, and the "value."
-
Honestly I still don't get why people buy Alienware, looks like that little Alien logo is worth alot of money.
Anyways, definitely gonna buy the new GT70 with this GPU. I seriously can't wait! -
I'd say don't over-complicate things: you should definitely start with a 386, then work your way up to a Pentium. Maybe throw in a math coprocessor. I have one I've been sitting on I could let go cheap
In all seriousness, I think you will be amazed how much easier it is to swap components. The value is definitely there, but there's still nothing like a compact, self-contained gaming laptop. -
If your 7970m scores 6329 that means it scores lower than all those kepler GPU's, those are stock clocks so you have to compare your GPU only on stock, I say lower than all of those because my 680m scores 6550 on stock and that 6141 is not normal for 680m.. But if you want to mention overclocking as you say about your overclocked 7970m score of P7377 then I want to inform you that my single overclocked 680m scores P8286, it's on 2400 core clock other people reaches 2500 and goes to +P8700..
Talking about overclocking I wonder how 7970m handles temperatures when it already got ridiculously high temperatures when on stock clocks.
Now, if that 780m scores P7600 on stock clocks it means it'll easy hit 10k with tweaked overclocking because the magic of kepler GPU's is that huge overclocking abilities, I hope now you got what all that excitement is about.
Here is my single overclocked GTX 680M results:
3DMark11 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3940XM,CLEVO P370EM
3Dmark Ventage NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3940XM,CLEVO P370EM -
Wow!
How is that even possible? -
yeah, thats about an 100 percent gpu overclock, probably crossfired
-
Heavy duty overclocking baby
-
doubt it, your GPU score is higher than several crossfired 7970m setups.
-
It must be cf score but 3dmark is having error with particular AMD drivers and is showing 1 GPU, I can see it's reporting 150Hz memory clock which is not possible too..
7970m and AMD drivers are known for behaving weird sometimes, and if it's beta or modded it gonna be even worst. -
thats likely crossfire with messed up systeminfo or something similar. Otherwise we wouldnt have to wait till a year to get such a result.
-
is just with tess off!!so simple...
-
No than the score would not be valid
-
the max oc of a 7970m is 8000 gpu score.
now the 11536 gpu score is in other planet....
maybe AMD make you a special card just fo you...
be serious man....(no offence)
-
look at the test machine, its a dual gpu laptop!
-
its like u guys say. Its a dual GPU setup bug. 3dmark fails to notice the second GPU because of a small exploit.
and NO i wont teach u how to do it because it will screw up the 3dmark score database if everyone does it. -
Not surprised at all, and I think no one else did. But please never do that again on forums like this because every given information can be very important for people who want to read before make their choices, please remove you post now and use your computer knowledge for more useful things that we might need your help with.
-
We thnx you for your honesty but fudging the figures is never kewl.
As per above message. -
what are you trying to prove in a GTX 780M topic? no offense
-
nothing at all. Just bored
-
what are you trying to prove by posting what are you trying to prove.
hostility?
good to know a 780m gets 8k and so does a 7970m thank msllover -
No need to confuse us even more mate
The 7970M still lives, so does the 680M, this generation is nothing special... I'm so disappointed
-
You fail to see that the 780 / 8970m are the same generation as the 680m and 7970m. There is now separate "this generation" for the 8970m / 780m, it's nothing new, the hardware exists for more than a year now. What did you expect?
Just because they call it now 700 series respectively 8000 doesn't make them new. It's exactly the same architecture as last year, same manufacturing process, same technologies on the board etc., calling it "new" or "next gen" is just marketing.
Nvidia's Kepler and AMD's Southern Islands architecture have been a huge leap forward in GPU technology, it has been in development for years and it's barely a year on the market now... and you're disappointed by what exactly? What did you expect? -

Well for 3k users or 1080p 120hz its a great leap forward with the 780m. Stock or tweaked that bandwidth will make a huge difference.
-
Have you heard anything new about the GT60 3K edition? When is it coming out?
3DMark11 on the upcoming GTX 780M!!!
