The only major prolem I had with the envy was the screen angle issue. You can tilt it way back so if you are sitting straight and try to read something t can cause some issues. One other issue I had was it was addictive. I couldn't get used to any laptops after that and I just got a desktop computer for my self. I was a big fan of Gateway FX series laptops in the old days ( well about a year ago) but after having envy in my lap, I wasn't sure why I carried 3-4 lbs more each day. I had the m15x, m17x, asus g sris laptops with 20m gtx and all of them had their issues. I could play SF4 and MW2 on 1080p with medium to high without even hitting 70C on the GPU. That is a major improvement over any other one.

Well , without factoring the weight and all , the Asus G73 still owns the envy at gaming... also u won't be screwed as u get 2 years standard global Asus warranty... also to ensure ur not screwed , make sure the retailer u buy from checks whether the laptop is working properly before sending it over... and the import tax isn't much anyways...

It's within 4 seconds calculating SuperPI to 2M places, and is only 9% slower in multi-threaded Cinebench. That's pretty close in most people's books. Don't just look at the position... compare the T9800's scores to the i5-540M. It loses in every single benchmark except the single-threaded Cinebench, yet it's ranked higher.

I would get the Envy based on the fact that the two GPU's are very similiar, but

    with the alienware you get
    -good cooling
-'leet' design..yeah thats a nono for me
    -THICK THICK CHASSIS. THICK. yeah.
    -better construction/overall quality

    envy
    -thin, sexy, and ACTUALLY PORTABLE
    -runs hotter
    -possible HP issues

I'd still go with the envy because I don't want to lug around a brick to my classes..nevermind the design that juts doesn't appeal to me AT ALL
