And also, I cannot overclock. Things become unstable as soon as I overclock even a little bit.. The screen flickers and such... Even at 900/1300... Any ideas? :/ it's a Eurocom card, running on a m15x with a 120 gb corsair ssd, 16 gb ram, i7 740 qm, and a 7970m. -

BTW, i did a second 3dmark11 test and got P5162. I think it's working correctly ha. No idea what happened on that first run.
This is more normal right? It's on stock clocks with a 740 qm.

From what i remember, undervolting in the m15x will get you better performance when you run stock. you are near the power limit in the m15x with the 7970m. Are you using the stock power brick that came with your laptop? I believe its 150w stock...so you are close to the limit -
I second what SlickDude80 said.
And I would also like to add the following:
Undervolting the gpu will NOT reduce performance. It will merely force the graphics card to work on stock settings (no loss in performance) while drawing less power overall, which in turn will lower your temperatures. -

Overclocking is matching the frequency to the stability point at that voltage. Undervolting is moving back down the voltage/frequency graph until your frequency is the max stabke at a certain voltage. In either case this will shift over time.

I want download 'vbios patcher rc1' for dell 7970m bios edit.
So, I create new accout for download file from tech|inferno site, but I don't have permission for download file with this messages
"1.Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2.If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."
Please someone help me, I want download 7970m vbios editer file. -
Aungoun, you need 5 quality post before privileges are allow.

someone corrects me but it seems you are holding the crown for top GPU score for 7970M :O

What's mine like? Completely stock, this was without the cooler on.
I'm using this driver http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...talyst-12-x-9-001-september-4-unofficial.html
I get about 45/50 fps on bf3 multiplayer - everything maxed out apart from AA, which is x4, and vsync is off.
It says my gpu memory clock is only 150mhz
Why is it so low? Please help???
Thanks -
this is my best so far.....ill try to reach higher OC with newer drivers, maybe i can steal 100 points somewhere

@Omen123: It displays the 2D clocks of your card due to PowerPlay, a piece of AMD technology that reduces the voltage and clock rates of your card for applications that don't require its full potential thus saving on power and extending battery life. Rest assured that your clock rates are normal for 3D applications as your benchmark scores are normal and on par for the 7970M without an overclock.

still no improvement by using 12.9 beta driver
12.9 beta (1060/1600) gpu score: 7049

Same here

meh, not very impressed, but then again I didn't know what to expect. completely stock, specs are in sig (ssd and last 4gb ram not installed yet)
edit: Decided to slap a tiny oc (900 and 1300) on and retest.

I think I got a decent card/setup - these numbers are all at stock settings with the stock driver I got from Myth.
Vantage - Total PCMarks: 20069
3dMark11 - Total PCMarks: P6093
I plan on running the tests myself, plus playing with a small overclock to see what I can get from her without pushing the heat envelope to much -

Another benchmark with new 12.11 beta drivers :
oc 1060/1560 thats the highest I can go before 3d mark crashes

I'm not that high - but I did hit 7111 with clocks that would be rock solid for days on end once that driver is fully bug free. As much as I love it - I've reverted back until its an official driver that's less buggy. I have issues after a while in the game I play most - BF3 Multiplayer. I get a white screen at launch and it tanks.
Can't wait till its an official driver. For the money - its going to be an awesome card. -

Over 7600 graphics score in a GX60 clocked at 1040/1500. -

Not as far as I know of. The max score for gtx-680 that i know of, is 8004, having beat this card by 1 point. Most 680M oc's that i know of end up in the 7.4k-7.7k score range.
Which is right on par with 7970m about now.
All that remains is for the driver to be stabilised and nvidia is officially in the dust. -
i oc via ccc-overdrive and the max is 1560-i cant go any further
-
-
. just set it to 1560, close, open and can overclock to aleluja.. thanks, didnt know about this.
Heres mine at 1060/1600 , dont think the card is capable of going further on stock voltage. tryed 1620 on memory and it crashed.

i set to default the clocks to the ccc-overdrive,and start to oc via msi afterburner,
i set it(memory)to 1560-apply,then i close the msi-and open again....NOTHING!!!!LOL
what im doing wrong??? -
It loks like every clevo with 7970m is living its own diffrent life -
Man, you guys sure can OC the crud out of your cards.

First time overclocking with 12.11, clocks at 950/1400. Still only running 12gb RAM instead of 16, but I'm not sure if that would affect the score at all. I love this driver so much lol. -
right budy? -

I was just starting conservative. Temps were really good since I repasted for the 4th time lol, so I will try raising clocks a little.
-
If I may pose a question.
Has anyone tried to undervolt the 7970m at stock clocks?
If so, what was the lowest stable voltage and difference in temps between stock and undervolted voltage?
