I click on the shortcut and it tells me to reboot, clock limits have been extended. After rebooting still nothing, and I've tried it twice :(

Haha nope, that's what I'm searching for. Could you please upload it for me? I can't really find it!

Update - I found one online and re did the shortcut, restarted and still no performance tab is showing up in ccc.

On the install file it says 2.3.1 if that helps?

And I've unlocked the necessary things needed to make sure it over clocks

Okay this is really annoying now.

I've done a complete reinstall of MSI Afterburner, and unlocked the gpu again. I added the -xcl to the shortcut and rebooted after it said something "the clock limits have been extended and a reboot is needed". Then I opened up CCC and there is still no performance tab. Yes I'm viewing CCC with advanced view.

I'm running stock 13.4 without enduro, discrete only. And msi afterburner 2.3.1 / 2.3.0.0

Also I found that atipdlxx.dll file online, and placed it in but nothing. If somebody could upload theirs and if it's working, I could give it a shot, but nothing seems to be working.

Thanks for the files, I tried them...

Did a complete uninstall, installed 2.3.0.0, and overclocked. But still no performance tab in ccc. I don't know why.

Yes, a space then -xcl at the end. Then I hit apply, ok. Nothing happened so I restarted, then clicked on the shortcut and it told me "the clock limits have been extended and a reboot is needed". I rebooted and still no performance tab shows.

    Enduro isn't installed.

Edit - I even just did a complete reinstall of catalyst 13.4 and all the drivers, and the performance tab still doesn't show up.

Hi Omen 123 I tried many variations till I got the performance tab the space was were I was going wrong did you put the " mark after the l I'm pretty sure I did " -xcl" and I don't no if this makes any difference but I was running on my 7970m card Fn+f7. We have roughly the same system so it should work for you to

Really sorry for the late reply. But I still don't think it works. I use discrete only (fn+f7) and I used a space, then -xcl then a ". I also tried adding another " before the - and it still didn't work. I'm really not sure.

Could you try to explain in a bit more detail? I really want to get this working! It's frustrating.

Thanks for your response though, I really appreciate it!

I can't understand why this isn't working for you as we both have the same machines I Go into the properties of the shortcut of MSI Afterburner(desktop shortcut)if 1 wasn't created during install then create 1, and in the "Target" field, add after .exe"space -xcl"if this is what you have done. The only thing I can suggest is going to alienwarearena.com go to forum(overclocking) and their is different overclocking tools that should work for you. Hope this helps let me no how you get on

I'll try and get this working for you, so let's take a few different courses to see what we can accomplish.

First let's try something simple that may or may not make any difference, but it is worth a shot. -xcl and /xcl both work as modifiers for the target field, so instead of using -xcl give /xcl a shot instead. Again, this needs to be typed in after the quotations for the shortcut target in the target field. For example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner\MSIAfterburner.exe" -xcl or "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner\MSIAfterburner.exe" /xcl

If that doesn't work, I know that you have already been provided with the required DLL to put into your MSI Afterburner folder to enable this feature, but let's try an older version of Afterburner anyway that I know works. Apparently MSI Afterburner 2.2.1 is the last release to support this feature without manually adding the DLL you were given, instead it comes with the DLL already and no additional files are necessary. I've hosted my archive for this version of Afterburner for you to download here, so grab that and uninstall the version you have now. Remove any lingering files and folders left over by Afterburner once you have uninstalled it and then use the archive I've given you to install the older version. Create your shortcut with -xcl or /xcl in the target field, or try both if one doesn't work, and let us know what happens.

Lastly if that doesn't work, the only other thing I can think to suggest is to uninstall all AMD display drivers and do a clean install of the latest CCC package, then try the xcl shortcut trick again with Afterburner 2.2.1. I'd suggest booting into safe mode once you've uninstalled your AMD display drivers, run Driver Fusion (formerly Driver Sweeper) to remove any lingering AMD display drivers, reboot back to normal Windows and then install your latest CCC package. If this doesn't give you access to Overdrive I'm not sure what else I can offer to help, but hopefully one of these suggestions will work out for you.

    Good luck!

Does anyone know if Clevo or Sager have released an updated vbios for the p150em? Not looking for voltage modifications or anything like that, perhaps just something that would make my system a little more stable and enable me to bump my clocks a little higher

I've been testing overclocks at stock voltage and now I've decided I want to raise the voltage and really see what my card can do. What temps do you consider good for 1.05v?

Well regardless of voltage. I'm not comfortable seeing temps past 80 at all, especially considering how many 7970m's have died since their release. Personally I dont want temps above 76 for gaming. So just watch your temps.
My cards seems for max out at 970/1450 @ 1.1 in crossfire. I still need to test the individual limits of each card.
My 24/7 clock is 915/1320 slightly undervolted at 1.025. My temps always stay between 68-76 under heavy loads and reliably pulls me a 12000 3D Mark 11 score.
For 24/7 use I only recommend a small OC on these fragile cards.
My stock volts were 1.05 so my temps are roughly the same now at 1.05 + OC

Congrats that's an insane overclock, probably the highest I've seen on a single 7970m! Do you mind telling me which vbios you used to get that overclock, didn't realise you could modify the voltage on that laptop

How dangerous is it to overvolt your system does it burn your card out quicker or is it safer than overclocking itself. I have the overclocking feature in CCC but Im not fully totally up on overvolting so any information would be greatly appreciated

    AMD 7970M CF 3920XM Result.

    P12105 @ 960/1415 1.075V (slight overvolt)

Then this keeper now. A 24/7 undervolted OC 11960 @ 920/1375 1.025V. Almost as good at the overvolted score and cool as a cucumber.

Decided to run a bunch of sessions of 3dmark11 since I'm looking to flash a new vbios to my card soon. Wanted to see what kind of net gains I end up with.

I did discover that my card max's out at 0.975 v according to HWINFO64. I know Mythlogic had done some work to the 7970m vbios when it first came out - I wonder if playing with the voltage was part of that back then when we were having all those issues? I thought the stock voltage was supposed to be 1.05? Maybe I'm mistaken.

At any rate.... here is my best result at 0.975 v - not to shabby for "stock" volts it seems. Kinda excited to get some more power through this thing now, that's for sure!

That's an awesome score. Your CPU is running at the stock clocks correct?

Yes, the 3630qm can not be overclocked.

I did manage to get the overvolted vbios located and flashed. However - I am having throttling issues. I quickly assumed they were heat related but I quickly discovered that they were indeed PSU related!

So if anyone has any information on custom PSU's that can crank out 240 or more watts - I'm am all ears!

Advanced users like Meaker modded some 240W PSU but i dont remember what was it. Look around in the forum threats regarding 680m.

P.S. I think it was some slim dell PSU but you need to mod the connector in order to make it work.

Yeah I did some research and found that thread. I'm debating between going with a 240 and 330 watt PSU. I'm leaning towards the 330 considering its only an extra $20 or so on eBay. Then I wont have to worry about power concerns even if I upgrade CPU and overclock it.
