here is my score with 900 core 1250 memory

With 940/1375mhz and on 13.6 beta, which was so buggy + awful I got P7006 Max gpu temp was around 70C when 3d mark 11 was running.
With 903/1300mhz and with 13.4 official drivers, not as buggy and glitchy I get P6895 Max gpu temp = 67C when 3d mark 11 was running.
Which clock seems better?
And I'll quote what I said before again
"Whenever I overclock with msi afterburner, and when I switch between windows, and tabs in chrome, sometimes there are these little horizontal line glitches that just lasts for less than a second. Also the lower part of the screen sometimes might jump around for just under a second too. It's hard to describe and even take a picture of. This happens with any overclock, even a modest one.
Any insight on how to fix this? I'm running 13.4 cataylst, no enduro, just fully running on discrete graphics. Specs are in my signature."
Thanks -
does cpu has so much impact in 3dmark 11 too?
-
Only on CPU tests and combined test - and of course on the final score. The GPU result shold be simmiliar with all cpu's, maybe slight diffrent.
-
i can get only P7400 score with 1070 core and 1560 memory overclock.
-
I think your talking about overal score, the gpu score should be higher. this is mi run at 1070/1560 and i think it was 13.5 beta.
AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P7697 3DMarks 8013 on GPU
I also noticed that non enduro systems have slightli lower scores, dunno why.. But much better performance in game and thats what matter.. -
i get P7391 overall and 7950 gpu score with same clocks!!
-
Well, that seems alright  , The slight diffrence can be becouse of diffrent drivers, and the overal score is lower becose of slightly weaker processor.. But yeah, your non enduro system performs much better in some games..
-
i agree about games!!all they run so good on stock clocks.dont need to overclock in games at least for now.even battlefield 3 is steady 60 fps!!
-
The lines you are talking about is a well known issue when overclocking with afterburner or trixx.
The solution to get rid of these is to flash the vbios of your cards to the frequencies you like.
That way there won't be any artifact issues.
Also I think that a solution for these artifacts is unlocking the catalyst overdrive oc . When you overclock through catalyst I think there are no artifacts.
Ask someone to remind you how you unlock the ccc overdrive.
I think it was a command you put on afterburner shortcut and run once. Then you reboot and overdrive works in catalyst -
So with my 920xm running all 4 cores at 3.5 or 2 cores at 3.7 maybe I will get an overal 3d mark 11 score of near 7000
BUT how do people get gpu score of 8000? What oc in the 7970 is needed for that?
I mean johnyman with 900core and 1250 mem gets sub 7000gpu score... -
read few posts upper..
1070/1560 i've got 8013 GPU score
AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P7697 3DMarks -
by the way, i was spending some time checking scores at 3dmark 11' page
and i realized that nr 1 score on a 920-940xm with 7970m is just P7944
3DMark - test your graphics card with the gamer's benchmark Core i7-920XM Processor&gpuName=AMD Radeon HD 7970M -

The artifacts and tearing on the desktop you are experiencing I found were due to PowerPlay. Disabling it while you overclock should eliminate the issue, it worked for me as well as many other users on the board. You need to disable PowerPlay in the settings for MSI Afterburner and not in CCC, though. Disabling PowerPlay in CCC will fix your clocks at 2D rates.
In the configuration file for MSI Afterburner, change the value for "UnofficialOverclockingMode" to 2 instead of 1 to disable PowerPlay and the flickering/tearing should stop. Keep in mind that your clocks are going to run at a constant value to whatever you set in Afterburner, and to have your card automatically clock back down in 2D applications you'll need to reboot or enable PowerPlay again in the config file and reset your clocks.
Alternatively you can enable AMD Overdrive in CCC and overclock in there, which will not result in the tearing and artifacts that you are experiencing. This is what I do, however I've read that certain users have no luck enabling this (those with Enduro enabled?). To do this, create a shortcut to MSI Afterburner. Go into the properties of the shortcut, and in the "Target" field, add "-xcl" at the end, after the quotations, like so:
Push apply, then ok. A field should pop-up telling you that you need to restart your computer before the new changes take place, and proceed to allow that to happen. Once your computer has reboot, when you go into CCC there should be a new "Performance" tab that has AMD Overdrive in it. Check that you agree to the terms of Overdrive, and voila, access to core and memory clocks. No tearing, no artifacts, just quick and easy OCing with PowerPlay still rockin'. -
Thanks a lot! This helped tremendously!
-
it may be with tess off
-
-
The difference is because of CPU? Johnyman at what speed do u run your CPU?
-
stock speeds.cant overclock cpu..
-
And fordys1001 CPU was running stock? Do we know?
-
Just came to this topic. How many fps I get for max settings max res on Crysis 3 on xfire 7970m?
-
It would appear that he has overclocked his CPU slightly, in his sig he has the 3720QM listed at 3.8GHz. Max turbo is 3.6GHz, so definitely an OC there.
-
I wonder what I will get with an 920xm with 4 cores at 3,5
-
Yep overclocked from 3.4Ghz to 3.8Ghz on all 4 cores, the 3.6ghz figure is just for 1 core
-
So with all cores at 3.6 that I run mine I will be under your score :-(
-
I'm sitting at a v-synced 60fps on max setting using the Maldo on the fly mod. The game runs like hot butter.
-
here some becnhmarks!1st one from metro last light latest drivers that came out today and overclock 1060 core 1560 memory!!!
another test from tomb raider same clocks all ultra with tress fx off.big difference!!
13.5 drivers
13.6 (latest drivers)
hitman again same clocks all ultra
13.5
13.6
-
can u share ur settings from maldo on the fly mod?thx!!

fatboyslimerr Alienware M15x Fanatic
Johnny what kind of temps do you get with that high OC whilst playing tomb raider?
-
So you saw an increase in FPS only from the drivers? Because many people have problems with them...
-
temps was 83-84 celsious but room temp is 29 celsious in room!!
only from the drivers m8,yes!!the work like charm no problems at all!! -
Nice OC dude, is that overvolted?
-
its stock voltage at 1.050!!
-
Wow sweet, seems like you've got a nice card there, mine seems to be unstable at anything over 1000 on the core and 1500 on the memory
-
1.075V
1030 core
1380 memory (It refuses to go anywhere above that I dunno why...)
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6749069
Max CPU temp-84
maX GPU temp-65
Artic MX-4 and bottlecap mode used. -
This is probably a noob question but do different drivers often allow you to push higher clock speeds than others, or are maximum clock speeds decided completely by the card?

Quagmire LXIX Have Laptop, Will Travel!
I wouldn't use "often", but drivers do affect stability and that's what overclocking is based on. vBIOS has a say in it too. Vast majority is the hardware luck though. -
AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3630QM Processor,CLEVO P370EM score: P10154 3DMarks
How do people get this high score? -
probably they close tessalation in ccc settings.this score is not normal.
edit:here what score i got with 1070 core 1560 memory and tessalation off in ccc.

That or it is not detecting crossfire properly.
-
No idea, what's up with the CPU clock so low??
-
Hmm okay, I tried this, and nothing pops up, it didn't even ask me do to a restart. I don't even have enduro installed. Just the latest 13.4 drivers. Nothing new in CCC either.
Sometimes also when I just leave my computer for an hour, or put the screen down so it simply just turns off, the computer freezes - the screen anyway, and I need to put it into standby to fix the problem. I've also once noticed jittering of some kind when playing video after a day of gaming. This required a hard restart. Temps don't go above 71/72C either. Don't know what's wrong
-
I guess 3Dmark captured the clock speed when it already idled down. The physics score of 80xx sounds about right.
-
-
Any help? As stated above it's not working, and I can't overclock. I'm on standard 13.4 drivers. And when I add the shortcut and edit it. And then reboot no performance tab shows up in CCC.
So basically I can't overclock. -
which version of afterburner u have ?u need 2.3.0.0.

My Golden Sample 7970M @ 1100/1525 1.05v
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/6814818 -
I put a space after the first exclamation mark " -xcl"pressed apply then OK then restarted then clicked on the MSI shortcut it told me to reboot so I did and I have the advanced in CCC it wouldn't work without the space,So I hope this helps
