With the 169.28 drivers which I just tried recently I'm getting around 20-22fps during normal gameplay although it does dip to 16-18fps which isn't good when there is a lot of detail and volume of objects(trees etc) onscreen or when driving the jeep around. Turning the shadows to low is able to improve the fps a little though to around 25fps.
Have a look at the first post on the previous page #20 to see the screenshots and what settings I'm exactly using, also take a look at post #195 on this page as well.![]()

Can you try 'High" at 800x600?Just want to see if it's playable
-
oh and are you overclocking?
-
here some of oblivion:
Settings : Grass and tress on max, the rest on mid-high + HDR
COD : AA2, most things on max but no shadows.
-
your pics dont show up.....i reckon those ***** was probably a covered up swear word so it doesnt show up and thus we cant see the pics
-
LOL "*****1234" very creative
-
Next I ran everything the same except for putting the 'shaders' this time down to medium.
The fps I got at:
800x600 was 28-32fps
1024x640 was 25fps
and just to see at 1280x720 it was 19fps and below.
I understand that your 8600M GT is gddr3 so I guess you should be able to get better fps than me.
This below is Crysis in normal DX10 mode even though these are the same graphics settings im my other post, no DX10 'very high' settings turned on.
Yet if you compare them with the same screenshots in the previous post the fps is lower, the game running below I'm getting like 15fps.
EDIT - screen links changed -
I might make one later, I updated my oblivion with a few mods that enchance the visual quality of the game - looks pretty stunning -
I would like to see Crysis on ALL HIGH(not just shaders).
-
This isn't news but with everything on high the game is not playable even at 800x600 resolution.
-
All games running at 1600 resolution everything maxed out. I have a 8600m gt overclocked.

Game: Half Life 2 Episode 1 w/ Cinematic Mod
System Specs: In signature
Settings: All max, 2x AA, 2x AF
Here's a few shots I quickly took from the beginning of Half Life 2: Episode 1. I'm using a mod called the cinematic mod which provides higher quality textures and models. Quality isn't as good as it should be because of jpeg compression but oh well.
Oh no! Alyx!
Wait a minute... where'd she get those clothes?
Ooh, Dog looks pretty in that dark lighting.
Smile for the camera!
Or... maybe you shouldn't....
Great, now Dog's getting camera shy!
Screw the crowbar, I want that katana!
She even gets a cool gun too! -
Can we get more 8600 GT 256 MB GDDR3 Users posting screens and fps figures if possible? Thanks! Trying to decide if its worth paying significantly more for the 8700 512 GDDR3 over that.

Damn it Asus! Why can't you make a notebook with a 8800 GTS you bastards!
-
Also does anyone have an 8700GT that they could use to take screens? -
Otherwise, many games have a screenshot key you can use and it will save the screenshots somewhere in the game's folders.
You can try some freeware screen capturing programs I found using google, MWSnap and Easy Capture which are both freeware and not just free trials. -
-
For the 8700GT, seeing as it has the same amount of stream processors but higher clock speeds, just expect about 2-3 more FPS than a OC'd 8600 DDR3, 5-6 more FPS than a Stock 8600DDR3, 4-5 more with a 8700 OC'd compared to a 8600 Oc'd. Overall, it isn't worth it if you have to pay a lot more just for the 8700. -
My turn:
All are taken with overclocking:
1-C&C 3:
Very playable as you can see (i think the fps are fixed at 30 only)
2-Front lines Fuel of war:
You must all try this game, its very good (better than crysis in my opinion), and playable at acceptable settings (High)
All the updates and fixes for the game were applied:
Head Shot!
Now at highest resolution, still playable but the fps are low, dont know why!!
What do you think?!

~$550 more for a penryn 100mhz faster, 1 more gig of ram, a 120 gig more drive space and a 8700 512MB GDDR3.
Also this price difference might drop in a few months maybe if you dont count the mail in rebate for the G2S-B2 and the ASUS rep said the G2SG-A1's 5400 RPM drive + penryn chip = a system that runs a lot cooler. If what some people say is accurate and I'm going to get 25% more performance than I think its probably worth spending 25% more no?
What do you think? -

Seriously F10 rocks.
EDIT: 600th post! How many does one need for that custom name-below-the-username? Sorry for the OT -
I guess not... -

for the name changing stuff

Could anyone provide me with some 8600m GT pictures of Age of Conan & Rainbow 6 Vegas. If possible with specs, settings and FPS
