I got 4702 in Fire Strike with my card. I believe I had the core at +290 and don't remember the volts...

Is the only possible way for overclock using the 344.75 driver ?
Also what are the optimal OC settings (+core, +vram, +voltage) and do you set them with Afterburner or through the BIOS.
All the best! -
350.12 drivers from 13.4.2015 work fine for me (win 8.1 64Bit). Did not check with latest drivers yet.
I am using +200MHz OC on Core for my daily driver and an overvolt of +100mV.
The Tool i use is Nvidia Inspector (with automatic task to apply this after startup).
Sadly my GPU hangs up when i OC the RAM in any way.... So i leave this setting to stock. -
Any word on a 960m? is it going to be a rebrand or a new GPU?
-
Ionising_Radiation ?v = ve*ln(m0/m1)
960M was out a month ago. It's a rebranded factory-OCed GTX 860M (i.e. GM107 chip). But, it has a locked vBIOS that prevents overclocking. If you can, get yourself a notebook that still has the 860M - I have exceeded 960M stock clocks with an OC 860M (specs in sig). -
Seriously? Do you mean any 960m laptops have a locked vBIOS which doesn't allow them to use the default driver overclock (+135 Mhz or so). I thought it was only blocked by the Nvidia driver at that time, but if anyone could confirm it would be helpful.

Refer to this thread.
All newer Nvidia GPUs from the 9XX series have locked vBIOS. The driver unlock was fixed with 347.88. -
Yes it has locked vbios, can only use driver that ignore the lock-bit like 347.88 or 347.90 to OC.
-
Ok. I thought SRSR333 meant a "hardlock" on the 960m GPU, which couldn't even be solved by the drivers (only by vBIOS flash). That would have been bad.
-
Whichever way I would avoid the 960M.. The 860M is literally the same and doesn't have the clock blocked BIOS... I rather get that and save myself a lot of trouble...

Hey guys, anyone here running a good setup on a Lenovo Y50? I have the 860M 2gb, and am looking to safely maximize its performance. I've seen bits and pieces about it on this thread but theres a lot of pages here and lots of mixed information. The talk about modifying the Bios is probably the most confusing part of the process.
-
Typically, Nvidia limits overclock to +135MHz over stock on the core, if it isn't locked down by the vBIOS or driver. To go beyond that, you will need a modded vBIOS to open up the overclocking limits of the GPU.
-
I'm in the same boat, kinda hit a performance wall with the 860m yet it still has so much more potential. Anyone know of a modded bios for a Gigabyte P34G V2 I can get my hands on?
-
hi there guys, I've got a 860m myself in a lenovo y50, anybody else has it?
what drivers are you using?
how much overclock?
any bios to suggest? -
I have the Lenovo y50 4GB 860m model, and I'm running +135 core and + 300 memory.
Tested with AC : Unity, temperatures max out at high 70's for GPU, mid 80's for CPU.
Makes Unity playable at 1080p, and a locked 30 fps at 900p.
Driver : 352.86, stock BIOS. -
Got a +300/+350 stable with 1.20v
Going to try to lower the voltageLast edited: Jun 27, 2015 -
Please upload screenshot of GPUZ/Report and nvidia inspector during overclock and playing game.
thanks -
how can i check if i have installed the modded vbios properly i havent noticed what is the stock vbios and the board id
can anybody with stock vbios check it ?
i am using g750jm -
Just fire up nvidia inspector and check the core slider. It if allows for more than 135Mhz, then you are using the Mod.
-
no matter what version of driver i use ?
could this be the modded bios version like in this picture ? (not mine)
left is stock , right is modded
-
How can I mod my Y50 vBIOS so I can unlock the voltage and more then +135 core overclocking ?
Some enlightment would be appreciated.m1ko likes this. -
I would like to know aswell
860m is a Beast
