Odd that GPU-Z says that, but it says 16 unified shaders too. I think its a fault in GPU-Z.

Well done on the OC, its very good, not as good as mine though :p ;) jk

The real question here is are you happy with your results?

    :)

    Is it all stable?

    And whats your 3Dmark06 score?

Yes, the temperature was also low (about 53 degrees!) :)
I bought it yesterday, I'm afraid to set higher clocks to improve mi result...

yeah its stable. I played mirrors edge on 1280x800 for 3 hours (with mid settings on graphic) with really nice framerates lowest drops were 20ish when there was alot of action.

as for 3dmark06 i have not tested since my internet connection is pretty slow at home...when i get to school ill download it and give it a run.

as for the card itself i just keep this setting 24/7 since powermizer usually downclocks when im not doing anything extreme :p

btw, ive managed 1100 with memory but got artifacts and windows would sometimes freeze up. I lowered it to 980 because theres no heatsink on the memory itself (passive cooled)

im considering(not sure if ill get it though) a samsung X460 which has the same GPU and it seems that this card is SUBSTANTIALLY better then the 8400 cards which is good because if i get this notebooks itll be used only for light gaming/older games that i missed out on. Ill keep my 7811 for the hardcore games.

I'm going to try 3dmark06 with: 722Mhz core clock; 959 Mhz memory clock and 1735Mhz shaders clock.
Ah: the temperature is still low...what are the possible damages other than temp??

You can't read the temperature of the memory, so it's a bit hit and miss. As long as it doesn't artifact then you should be ok.

In your opinion it's a bit stupid to set memory frequency so high? (959Mhz)

Ps. sorry for my bad English :(

English lesson :) in this instance [it's] should be replaced with [is it]

Fellow member Tinderbox said that DDR3 memory can be clocked up to 1000MHz, but I havn't been able to get over 850MHz. Your result of 959MHz could be considered pretty high.

Sorry, can't tell, I have PowerMizer disabled.

However, I can downclock with nTune, Core: 132MHz & Memory: 175Mhz

850Mhz is not very high considering that default frequency is 702 Mhz.

It still won't match the 8600m GT in games, i got 3500 oc'ing my 8400m GT, which is the oc i've been using in every game for a year now , and it still doesn't match the 8600m GT, not even close.

The 9200M stays very cool indeed. When OCed and heavy gaming, it doesnt break 64C XD

With the DDR3 8600M GT I would definitely agree but I am not so sure about the DDR2 version unless its OCed of course.

Good luck with hitting 3000K Mr Penguin.

Is the 9200m better than the mobility radeon 3450?
Can you post on how you overclock it, for example which program you used and how you did it.

Yeah, the 9200M GS is just a teensy bit faster than the 3450.

There are plenty of guides out there on NBR, just use the search function :)
What I use to OC my 9200 is nVidia nTune

DDR2/GDDR3 only affects bandwidth, the main bulk of a gpu's rendering power comes from the shader count/speed. The 8600m GT DDR2 still outperforms my 8400m GT GDDR3 oc'd because of the extra shading power even though my card would dominates it when it comes to bandwidth.

My bet would be on the 3450, if you have one use ATItools to oc and look up some guides on how to do it, and be aware of the dangers, first.

I'm using Dox's optimized 185.20 driver. You will have to disable PowerMizer and in the end, you can game on battery and AC but you can only OC on AC.

You will see quite a performance boost when you update your driver.

if i update my driver to DOX 185 will i get better scores on 3dmark06 cause with my current OC (look at sig) i was only able to get 2200 but the resolution was higher than 1280x800 (i dont know why maybe beacuse i have a 1400x900 screen)

I recon you could get a better score if you use Dox's driver 185.20.

When running 3Dmark06, run it at either 1280x800 or 1280x1024 to make results comparable to others.

fluffboy Yes, since you have a very outdated driver (169.04), you will see a bigger increase in performance with 185.xx drivers and stock clocks than overclocking with 169.xx drivers

i downloaded dox 181.22 performance drivers. Since with the 185.22 (nvidia non-dox) i had problems with the powermizer not being able to raise the gpu clock after waking up from sleep. Ill run 3dmark06 again to see how she puts up :D

I dont think I'll be able to reach 3K :(
Even though it stays cool, the chip just can't handle the higher frequencies, it got to 730MHz core and 885MHz mem and it just BSOD'd me. I have no chance

    Hi.

I got mine to 750mhz core and 950mhz memory , but still only got a little over 2900 points in 3dmark06demo without any problems, but i am not going any higher as above a certain level with the 9200m GS you only get a slight performance boost, as it is only 64bit.

    Hi.

I got 2940 points with my 9200m GS with 3dmark06demo using DOX Optimized 185.20 set to recommended settings with 750core and 950memory.

I only got 2888 points with the default Samsung Q210 drivers.
