A NBR Team Fortress 2 Server.....

On the CS:S server, at most i'll add adverts that refer to nbr, but I'm not changing the name of that one, It's still my clan server.

The COD4 server I'm hosting is also not up right now because that particular server PC needs a new network card. The one it was using kept resetting once every 24 hours and dropped everyone, and I can't accept that.

I could also run any server for any game since I have a TON of extra bandwidth, TF2 when filled up with 24 players was only taking about 4800Kbp/s (upload) of my bandwidth.

As much as I would love a UT3 server, there are some SERIOUS issues with UT3 that make it near impossible for anyone to have a good time, which is why UT3 has hardly any servers right now compared to even ut04. The problem lies in the way the weapons fire, once you click the mouse, it sends that info to the server, then your weapon only actually fires when your pc gets the info back. So a latency in UT3 of even 50ms, would feel like 400ms.
On servers where your ping is just 120, you'll actually be able to count the time it takes for your weapon to fire after you clicked the mouse.

Another thing, is I have fully fiber optic internet, so no matter what type of connection you have, the max ping you'll get in my server from anywhere in the world is about 220. If you have over that, then you either have a bad ISP, or something wrong with your PC, such as low FPS in game, which can and does also raise your latency.

Guys can any one be kind enough to help me get on your server I am a real noob at this I installed steam and have already got tf2 now how do i find ur server and get access to it also when i try to access a public server a message 'You do not have this 3rd party mod' appears how can i know which 3rd party mod and where can i download them from and are they free?

 

right click on the steam icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of the screen). Click servers. Go to the favorites tab. Right click in the main box somewhere that is blank. Click on 'add server by ip address' (or something like that). Copy and paste the ip of the server you want to add into the box that pops up asking for the ip of the server. Click 'find games at this address' (or something like that). It should find the server, then add it to your favorites by either right clicking and selecting add to favorites or there should be a button (i think) that says 'add server to favorites.'

Some of you guys should schedule another day to come play, seeing as how TF2 is a team based game, you really have to get it going with about 8 players at minumum.

And don't think you're bad just because you don't score much in CS:S, if you just plain can't aim, then yea, you should get better, but if someone just comes around a corner and instantly headshots you, or you just die all the time before ever seeing the person who killed you, keep in mind that CS:S was released in 2004, and in this time hacks have evolved quite alot, infact most hackers playing CS:S will never be banned. There are even skins for CS:S that ARE ALLOWED by almost all server that let you legally see through walls. My server protects against this with a custom whitelist file I wrote up, but most do not.

About my internet, it's $106/m The best part about it compared to other fiber optic ISP's like verizon's FIOS is that there's NO cap, I could download 1PB per month If I wanted, and nothing is ever throttled like comcast.

The service goes all the way up to $250/m for a full 70mb down, 70mb up connection, though that's a bit too pricy for me.
Also, the results on my sig are a bit misleading since they should be slightly faster but I'm behind a router. Running completely wired, I tested it and got 19800 down 68300 up. 5ms ping.

Yeah, on the other hand, we could set up a schedule for every friday/sat or w/e, but it would be preferable that you guys can stay on the server for a while...I'm pacific and am always busy on friday around 9amest. haha.

 

Well, Pablo, you're always on steam, so why don't you take charge of the western side of the US? You shedule games and post them for your guys, and we'll do the same for us eastern dudes. Central and mountain, we dont care about you. lol jk, just join whichever game you can whenever.

No we're not. We're hosting on a DEDICATED server, with kick butt internet speeds.

 

It doesn't really matter much anyhow. You can run a game server on any sort of computer. I used to run a Win2k server on a spare laptop.
