A NBR Team Fortress 2 Server.....

Glad to see this server is taking off. Do you think there will be room for those of us planning to stop by around 9EST?

 

definately, if it means kicking tons of players to make room, then that will happen.

I'll also see what I can do a little later about making players automatically kicked when anyone from nbr joins.

One more thing, at this rate that the server is going at, I think this server has the chance to be within the top 100 servers in the world for TF2 within the next few days. right now it stands at about 780 out of 4200 servers.

oh wait, no that was since I restarted the server to install beetle'smod, it's been up since friday!

 

Um, just over 3 days?! I thought it was around for quite a while before this whole NBR TF2 fiasco. Are you sure the time isn't measured in Days, Hours, Minutes?

EDIT: I guess not. Is that the current uptime or the total amount of time the server has been in existence?

uptime since last restart, which was the install beetlesmod, I started this server specifically for NBR, so it's new, started on friday.

Server was started on Friday. The IP adress and port were registered a few days before that, but on friday the server's rank was 3700, right now it's 798, and goes down every hour. since the server has been full since around 8:30am. if you ask me, that's pretty significant, and I have no doubts this server can be one of the best out there.

me and a bunch of other guys from the Lanfusion clan have been working on getting a 32man server going for months now, we have finally started to become successful lately, but its taken a whole lot longer than 4 days to get this thing going and popular

Well, we have a pretty good amount of NBR players here, and they tell their friends, etc, which helps I guess.

 

Whats the IP? I can check it against this server, and see how they stack up.

There's also the fact that my server is located in Sacramento California. Directly in the center of one of the most populated states on earth. Most people in the server are getting around 20-30 ping. So it also helps that this server is probebly at the top of the server browser list for people living in california and the surrounding states. Which is ALOT of people!

 

Yeah, I'm on the East coast and I usually have a ping of ~110. Not too bad.

I played and was at 80 ping usually and I'm in Illinois and have terrible cable internet.

 

ill get it for you tomorrow maybe, im not on my windows machine now. I doubt its very popular anymore, nobody has really tried too hard lately which is a shame because it was just getting to the point where we have regulars (who come if there is about 10+ people in the server). We did get it full tonight though

hopefully next time i play on the NBR server my mouse will be nice and stop screwing around with the acceleration and speeds, i spent most of hte time i played tonight trying to fix that

Yeah. I had changed mine so that I didn't get booted. I had a good time though. It is nice to play some different maps from time to time since I usually just play 2fort or dustbowl.

I like the server because its refreshing to have a many map rotation server that isn't packed with people who don't know how to play. I understand that some maps lead to better gameplay but its nice to see the different maps.

 

Man I really want to get in on this because I used to play TF2 all the time, but I've been so busy this summer with work I just haven't had the time

However, when I go back to school in September I'll definitely fire it back up and get back in to it. I miss playing TF2.

 

Wanna say thanks for Forerunner for keeping the NBR steam group going strong in my fast away from gaming (We are 100 members strong!). In like 16 more years when the kids are all grown up I can probably play all day again like I used too

On that note, I am gonna try to get in tonight for a few rounds. I have not played TF2 too much, upon release it was lacking content and seemed too newbie friendly but a lil carnage sounds fun for later tonight.

I was planning on it playing tonight, but we are leaving town tonight instead of tomorrow. So I guess I'll play next week and on my brand new notebook too!

 

Gonna eat dinner with my Family & Kids they go to bed at 9:30 or 10 eastern so I should be on somewhere around that point. Once I am on I will be on for several hours. I am actually going to set an alarm in my cell phone right now so to remind me to get on and play.

As for member names, there is a post somewhere that has many peoples gaming aliases listed so you can find some of them in there. Also the steam page itself should be some use many of us use the same name.

Well, all members need to put NBR on their name, cuz when it comes down to kicking people on a server, i'm just going to look at names without the NBR and ppl who have the highest pings. So as a safety factor, add NBR

Team fortress 2, and I don't know how you missed it! Didn't I play you today?! I'm HokeyPokey. Some Unnamed spy killed me with a pistol when I was Engy in CTF.

I got in and played a few rounds but got called into work. I didnt even get to say a proper good bye. I say "gotta go to work guys" and 3.2 seconds later the Admin of the server kicks me. WTH?

Oh ok, it seems like he says he lagged, and accidentally kicked you, and says he's sorry.

 

Yoyo is a doof. Good session tonight, though it didn't last long. One point half the server was nbr so that was nice.
