i suggest cccp codec pack also, mpc-hc, also check video settings in ati ccc and turn of some filtering stuff,also smooth playback take role and aply to internet videoplayback, also try flash settings turn on-of gpu acceleration....

Fan speed is not available

 

Not working for me either, 32-bit version in Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. I've been checking with HWmonitor, if that matters, but after seeing no change with a 0.5 adjustment, I bumped the VIDs all the way to the minimum and still nothing happened.

I've been testing BrazosTweaker 0.4 32bits for a few hours now and here are my results.
My config:
-ASUS Eee PC 1015B Brazos C-50
-Default NB VIDs are 0.8750v for P0 @444Mhz and 0.8250v for P1 @333Mhz

Setting the NB VID in your tool works fine and the "service" feature as well.
But with NB P0 VID=0.7625 and P1=0.7375:

- CPUID HWMonitor is still reporting 0.88v for P0 and 0.82v for P1
- AIDA64 is reporting the same values as in your tool
- GPU-Z is reporting 0.8750v for P0 and 0.8250v for P1

Moreover the power consumption doesn't change at all with lower VID for the NB.

Also it's not possible to downclock the GPU using the multiplier.

For anyone interested Diablo 2 runs beautifully the only issue being that sometimes the colours go all funky. I've installed the latest dx9 release. If anyone has any fix please let me know.

Found the fix. It appears explorer.exe interferes with the launcher. Closing explorer.exe fixes this.

Weirdly enough this doesn't happen on 7 x64 but it does on Starter x86.

 

yes diablo 2 works GOOD, even HD res. patch works witch pre-latest game patch i think, and funky colors is issue..i got it too on some settings...

 

1080p 30fps runs fine on my 722 (20% cpu usage), 1080p 60fps (from my HX9V camera) unfortunatelly stutters. I use MPC-HC, be sure to have DXVA in the left corner when playing. I did a clear install of w7 professional, gfx drivers from cd.

 

i have no real skill with 1080 /60fps ...maybe its too much or bad-perf. codec is assigned...

 

I think this depends a LOT on the codecs involved. Some 720p files stutter like mad, while some 1080p files play just fine and smooth.

 

Well I guess it's working after all, though the results are lower than expected.
I used "Geeks3D Furmark 1.9.1" (res=1024x640) to stress the GPU and here are my results:

NB P0 Default VID 0.875, undervolted @0.7625:
- ~1W drop of power consumption
- After 2 mins of stress, temp increase of 12° instead of 17°.

NB P1 Default VID 0.825, undervolted @0.7375:
- ~0.7W drop of power consumption
- After 2 mins of stress, temp increase of 11° instead of 15°.

Please note that I have disabled the fan.

Also for NB P1, I see a power consumption drop of ~0.3W in IDLE (only AIDA64 window open to check battery discharging value).
It's not that much, but still 5% drop for my config.

Now it'd be great if the GPU could be downclocked.
I don't think 333Mhz is needed to surf or to read PDF files.

Seeing the results from JF tells me, that the 522 doesn't have a BIOS locked NB voltage. On my system (IdeaPad S205 w/ E-350), I'm seeing about the same numbers for power consumption and temperatures.

Initial tries, to change the NB frequency through the divider, just got me black screens immediately Changing the divider on the NB is far more complicated than on the CPU.

I also have a similar bios and there is no particular patch_offset that enables or disables advanced menu. The bios uses another method to suppress forms in bios. The only thing I can help you with is, changing settings in bios without being able to make them visible. For e.g. I changed IDE configuration from ide to ahci. Check the setup log (Paste Dump Page 1655) for you bios and let me know if you want to change any settings and I can help you patch them.

e.g you have 2 options for Web camera: Auto and disabled. The flags are 0 and 1. The patch offset is 0x120 and patch value is either 0x0 or 0x1.

Here is your modified rom with network boot disabled under the Boot form. By default it is enabled (check it before flashing) Acer.zip . Similarly you can change any settings you want.

but if the NB voltage is actually changed by brazostweaker, how am i able to set it to impossibly low voltages (eg. 0.10v) without crashing the computer? the NB must have a locked voltage in that case. Wouldn't that be a logical conclusion to make?

Can someone upload/send me their Catalyst save profiles? I cant open the Catalyst Control Center(even after searching on internet and doing everything). I'd like to use the performance and power saving modes of CCC.exe.

Does modifying the Catalyst center even make a difference for gaming? I'd like to know how much im missing out on.

Please this is a Acer Aspire 522 thread! Iam testing it for a Aspire 522 and changing the NB-Voltage do not work (you can lower the NB-Voltage to 0,0125V and no freezes happens) This do actually not work for the Aspire 522!

 

flipxxx : just install ati 11.5b and power schemes will be added....or wait 1week for 11.8 final driver which should be great..
and if you want better gameing perf. try in CCC mimmap level to Performance, push 2xmsaa, vsync on, turn of anisotr. filtering, and turn on the AI ( some games run better with Of)

I am unable to open the Control Center application. Since I cant open it, I cannot change any of the settings.

Since I cant open it(I can see the processes open in the Task Manager) I was wondering if someone could upload their Save Profile (where you put it on performance modes). That way I can play games better.

on default ati driver that comes with acer is ccc systray icon dissapear bug..install 11.5b, 11.7 or wait few days for 11.8 final...than all should be good..

I flashed that Mod-Bios and it unlocks the advaned Menu also advanced CPU.

No change with the Brazos Tweaker (NB-Voltage still locked) and also no way for changing clocks

 

The BIOS is not on the CPU voltage and frequency settings, perhaps to hide those options, the last time that the two pictures, you will find a few less options in BIOS

 

so what yu are sayin is all menus show up ,but you cant change settings...right ?
perhaps other offsets are missing, or saving advance things is not saving to cmos..?! try to tweak from bios.not from brazos...brazos is limited by bios settings...than monitor under windows, if it takes!!!

for those lurking - re: the 722 after doing the cleanups others here suggested, getting the right driver set loaded and ccc, I had no issues with 1080P playback. I plugged it into my 46" sony bravia hdtv and found a setting in the ccc list, flipped it on, hit the switch-output and it performed flawlessly. I note that the current vintage CCC I installed for the 722 looks quite different than the one I use with my desktop-based HTPC rig - that one snooped the hdtv and simply gave me one easy choice to setup for that screen whereas the one on the netbook gave a very long list of settings that might be applicable, and I was stumped a bit as to which to pick. I also noticed that for some reason the Sony firmware reported a HDMI error in the signal, but it worked anyway... not sure what it was seeing that was distasteful. audio maybe?

all in all a very impressive platform... and I was only using the default 2GB. that little 12 display is brilliant...

You will need to add a module for changing FSB and Voltage the drivers are already in the BIOS but they have no modules because in most cases they were controled over ACPI (@ least the Voltage) or have specific parameters.

To tell you bad news, if the C50 is the multiplier is locked, it would not have thought to overclocking, as you can see why the `` information APU

 

sd31.... sure it is locked.... if it cant be set trough bios ..than hardcode to bios is needed...its only software, so its possible to hack it... or yu mean c50 chip itself is locked to 10x multipl ? if thats true only hope is FSB increase...and i read about e 350 overclocks ..people wer using only 100 to 119 mhz...thats 20% speed inscrease without need of change anything else..but i hope for 133-150mhz

 

I really do hope someone is able to hack the locked fsb, NB multiplier and NB VID. But even if that happens, the most you should expect is about 120 out of the FSB. That would still lead to 1.2ghz per core and 330mhz from the gpu, if they are linked. For gaming, that will bring some appreciable performance benefits.

Perhaps I am strange, I got a concussion last weekend, but I must say that this netbook has been the best computer that I have ever owned. I have enjoyed tweaking it's potential, reading about further potential and making this a netbook in a class by itself. I use it as my desktop and mobile device.

I find it interesting how people shun netbooks as simple machines for simple tasks but I find it to exceed on every level. Perhaps I have been living in a cave and the higher realm computers are just so much faster, but honestly it's fast enough for me and the fact that I can carry it around, amazing.

Anyhow, I have never been so emotional over a material object, but for some reason, I have become a fan of this little computer. I can't wait for the smart creatures to open this potential further.

It will run fallout 3, photoshop cs5, Traktor pro 2 with numark mixtrack pro , corel photo pro x3, Reason 5 with external midi keyboard, the latest ableton and play virtually every type of video format.

My rig has 4gb of ram, 64 ssd hard drive, windows 7 ultimate-trimmed down and works as a media device , playing 1000's of movies off my projector and hd television. Oh, yeah virtual tennis 3 is great for the small screen.

Anything else? yeah it doesn't get hot anymore with brazos tweaker and I have used it as a dj rig, playing out and it doesn't skip a beat.

Almost forgot, it cost under 300 dollars.
