This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I have a 256MB ATI Radeon X600 XT in my desktop. Great card, works wonders even today! I got it with my Sony three years ago. Now, since I've been looking at laptops, it looks like nVidia is in the lead, so my next laptop will have the 8600M GT.

    ATI at the moment, planning on getting a new laptop with an NVIDIA card.

    definatly nvidia because of the linux. nvidia is way less work (in most cases) to get a linux distro working on.
