IMO anything more then $850 for the 280M SLi would be ridiculous and would hold me back from buying.

it's basicly a super glossy piece of plastic covering your screen and screen bezel. i suppose it would be easier to clean than a normal screen, but other than that, i can't see no more advantages of this vs a normal glossy screen.

i'm all about havin the exclusives. from my cars and clothes to my electronics. i don't mind spendin the premium for any of it. i love things that perform at top notch levels, AND has looks to match it. i'm anti-mainstream.

i really love how sony's edge to edge display tv's look and it's the same with the new AW laptop.

You say you're all about anti-mainstream, yet you have a Dell XPS M1530? How does that work? :p

so the mainstream wants high performance, ugly things? or low performance beautiful things?

that makes no sense. everyone wants power and beauty in one package....at least i think they would..

i have no idea what u'r tryin to say. yes, everyone wants power and looks in 1 package. if u compare the current laptops of today to 5, or even a few years ago, u'd notice that every manufacturer focuses on looks now. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. some like plain, some like insane. i happen to fall somewhere in between the 2, and the market has somethin for that as well. :)

@ the other 2 that quoted me: maybe mainstream wasn't the correct word to use, but i am all about the finer things. i just prefer to have things that not everyone has, and i'm willin to pay the premium for it. i am a big dell customer. i've had pretty much all of their 17" xps laptops since the xps line first came out (some models i had multiple units), so i chose to stay with a brand that has been nothing but great to me. i was lookin for something portable, something that looked good, that i could game on, and the m1530 just fit that bill to the T. i didn't need a crazy system or somethin higher-end anymore. even better was that it was a dell laptop cuz they have never failed me. hope that clears it up a little bit.

back on topic: have u guys seen the optional wiiiiiiide screen monitor that they're offerin as an accessory to this AW laptop? that thing is just gorgeous. i can't wait for them to release some prices and do some testing. :D
