Been trying to update my 6990m driver
from 11.8 to 11.9 even the 11.10 "Battlefield 3 BETA driver"
which is suppose to offer a 30% performance increase.
These thing happens:
"Your computer does not contain a proper graphics adapter"
When trying to use "AUTO-DETECT", it found 11.9 and wanted to install it.
" AMD Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on your computer."
I've look through 2 thread on which other has similar problem.
I try to do clean install, but can only install 11.8 driver. 11.9 and + does not work.
Anybody with a 6990m has any solution?

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
Use this:

Works for even my FirePro, which never takes any Catalyst Driver out-of-the-box. -
Try the mobility mod, see here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m15x/614251-catalyst-11-10-drivers.html

Why use a mod when the 11.10 preview officially has mobile support?

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
Well the OP created a thread saying the official mobility drivers from ATI aren't working so if you need it, that is the best way to go. I understand that you want ATI's official to work on the 6990M, but if it is not working right now for the OP and if he wants 11.10, that works the same way as the official. -
To my knowledge it is because they don't support notebooks that contain integrated graphics as well. AMD mobile drivers don't work for me either and I think it is because of that reason...

I CANNOT THANK YOU GUYS ENOUGH!
You guys rock!
Sad the official one isn't working but
I got a large performance increase in BF3!
30fps on high-setting to 45fps avg.
