Another Korean MMO. Is it better than GW2? GW2 has the best format for me, though I barely play it, only level 13, but it's pay once and be done, which I love.

GW2 is an American MMO (it hasn't been released an Asia yet, and isn't available in any Asian language). Archeage is Korean, but it's more of a "no restrictions, explore the world, do what you want" MMO. I don't know if there is a monthly fee.

Eh, whatever, still owned and published by Koreans. That makes it a Korean MMO in my book. So what is the difference? Explore the world? That's how you level in GW2. There are not set quests, you just wander the world and see people come to you and asking for help. You level by just exploring. The quests adjust to your level wherever you go, and the big boss fights are world boss fights. I don't think you could be more explore than GW2.

Is that the new Quantic Dream title? Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy) was decent as a proof of concept but the action sequences were bothersome to me (I just turned difficulty to the lowest setting). I haven't played Heavy Rain (stupid platform exclusives), but I hear it's like a better-executed Fahrenheit. I'm very hopeful for the genre if they can get it right and offer the games on multiple platforms, but "press X to not die" needs to forget to press X. That, in my opinion, is by far the worst gameplay mechanic in use today.

I thought there was tons of content. My issue was that the elemental/mage class is rubbish. And that's the only class I like in MMOs.

There's really not. It seems that way at first, but then you get to level 50 and you're still doing the same things and then you get to level 80 and you're still doing the same things. Also the dungeons are lame.

Oh BTW, THQ is bankrupt. They say the announced games will still be published though.
    - I REALLY hope Vigil Games finds a new home soon. That is an awesome game developer, they don't deserve to go down with THQ who continuously market games terribly, sad since their games are awesome.
    - Company of Heroes 2 and South Park better not get choked!

It's too bad. I hope someone buys THQ and can turn it around for them. But I feel even if they find a buyer, they will be restructured, and then run like Activision/EA, and sacrifice who they once were for maximized profits. Either way, I think it's good bye to THQ.

THQ, why did you publish so many bad games! Should have just stuck to the awesome ones like Darksiders, rather than WWE, Stacking, Rio, Kung Fu Panda... good grief. Homefront? What were they thinking? Jeopardy? Wow, more WWE games.

Yep... GW2 is more of a family-friendly chat room with poor performance, tons of bugs, and mild MMO elements IMO.

Isn't that WoW in a nutshell?

The Koreans do pretty well with MMOs... and anything has to be better than WoW.

I can just see the next WoW expansion... Bunnykins rainbow land and the new race "bronies". With new "cutie" powerups so your cuddles do extra lovepoints. Not too far from Pandaland I bet. Next step is to merge with Hello Kitty worlds! New spells/abilities: Cuddleball! Cutiebolt! Pillowfight!

Blizzard has completely lost what it takes to make a good game.
(Diablo and Warcraft have already been ruined and intentionally aimed at pre-7-yr-old markets... next is Starcraft.)

The only game I really care about at this point is Star Citizen. Everything else seems pointless.

To be fair, the panda thing is huge here in China, which is one of the biggest MMO markets in the world. It's not about making the best content, but making the most money.

Starcraft 2: Heart of The Swam (Despite Baka being majorly out of practice ._.)
    Company of Heroes 2
    Command and Conquer Generals 2
    Total War Rome 2
    Dragon Age 3

Yes, Baka is a strategy freak ._.

Also looking forward to CnC Generals 2 (never really liked the non-Generals CnC series oddly enough...), though I'm not sure if CoH 2 will be released on time, or at all, seeing as THQ folded under bankruptcy recently :/

If the EA servers would work, I'd play Baka at Cnc Generals ZH (Shockwave mod).

HL series is so not about the mechanic of firing a gun being as realistic as possible. I'll take HL3 no matter what that mechanic looks like. I just want to see what happens next to the characters and see where the story goes. I'm sure the shooting we be plenty good enough.

Too many good games in my backlog to worry about HL3. I'm actually more interested to see what happens in Crysis 2 since it's been so long I cared about HL2 that it doesn't matter to me anymore. Just a memory.

Dead Space 3, not because of story. But the co-op looks fun.

And of course again, SOUTH PARK!!!! Maybe Metro Last Light since I did play Metro 2033, more recently than any HL game.

If they're boring, how does co-op improve on the experience? If two people play a boring game, two people are bored.

The market is saturated with multiplayer third person shooters as is. Dead Space has offered a formula that no one else does anymore, and it's unfortunate to see it being diluted with ubiquitous gameplay features that only serve to lower tension and change the awesome atmosphere of the first two games. Hopefully it'll still be good despite the changes. I'll try the co op out after I beat it solo, but I still think the devs could have used their resources in a better way.

Never played Dead Space before, but I found this to be true of Borderlands. It's kind of a boring game to play solo, but the co-op is a lot of fun.
