Too bad in such cases games can't be refunded.

Yannis: "Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues. I want to sincerely apologize on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin's Creed team".
Yannis added: except for the leadership on the project, which clearly is blameless for any issues that may, for whatever reason, arise when we do not order them to. -
As far as Ubifail's go, this game has been an epic one.. even watch dogs was not so broken!

Assassinâs Creed Unity
So, I guess I'll be able to shake my fist at UB soon for this, although I was just innocently buying a 850 pro -
Aaaaanndd BOOM!! Rainbow Six Siege is using AnvilNext => Cinematic competitive shooter? Ubisoft seems like its inventing a new genre!

Oooh a game set in the UK. Don't see that very often.

I bet its terrible.....

As Unity uses various British accents for all the NPCs, it is also as if it were set in the UK. If I ever get this game I might try to install the French language files just for kicks. -

So did ACIII for that matter. So there you go, Cakefish, grab ACIII if you want to play in the UK... Well at least in one of its colonies at that time

Can anyone please answer this? What are your average fps for this AC Unity on 780m SLI or 7970m Crossfire?
-
I've got an 8000m series and it runs like crap even on low settings. Getting about 20 FPS. Maybe hitting 25 occasionally. My bro has a 780 gtx on his PC and it runs like too. Ubisoft released an unfinished, Unoptimised game and knew about it because they put a review embargo on the game for 12 hours after release....
Honestly makes me so mad because I was behind this series since the first game and they've ruined it.... -
U have 8970m? Crossfire or single gpu? Did you download the new Omega driver?
-

New Omega driver gave me a boost of around 5 frames for minimum FPS in ACU. Pretty happy with that. -
still buggy as hell?

Are you a Ubisoft bot or something?sasuke256, Getawayfrommelucas, jaug1337 and 3 others like this.

I reported the post, but since when did bots have avatars?
Getawayfrommelucas likes this. -
Sometimes they do, and sometimes it's a girl-next-door-type of picture. It's my first time seeing one of them on THIS forum though.

If only they applied this very same logic prior to the game's release... -
Slightly better, still living hell though.
AMD and nVIDIA drivers might fix some issues, idk -
I just loled reading that statement.. Morons... They should have done this before the game.. In that sense, however much people might complain about EA, their QC is much better then Ubisoft's although both really need to pick up their game!
-
Please report back on the game's performance once patch 4 is released this week for PC.

Ubi$oft just pulled another Watch Dogs and broke SLI in AC Unity with a patch.

Ubifail going to another level.. LOL breaking SLI on a NVIDIA sponsored game! NVIDIA should burn them for doing this if they haven't already!

Can't Ubi be fined for such things? -
Nvidia can stop giving them money, for starters.
-
They cannot.
-
Well I guess game owners could sue Ubi for selling such a crap broken product!
-
Nope, against the ToS you agree to when buying. Sony and EA and stuff updated their ToS to state that users can't mount class action lawsuits against them. Rememeber you don't OWN your game. Ever. Not even those NES games. You simply bought the ability to use the IP for your own personal devices. Nintendo is legally able to say "Nobody is allowed to play Super Mario 64 anymore" and then anyone caught playing it can be fined by them.

The best they could do is to ask for money back, but I think that's not always possible. At least for digital copy. -
That depends on which country you are in.
But essentially yes. -
I haven't read through the whole thread, so I apologize if this has been answered already. I've played the game for about 20 mins so far (just to make sure it works mostly). About 18 mins of that have been cutscenes, where I'm left twiddling my thumbs. Cutscenes you can't skip or exit from. The game literally takes over your machine, crazy.
Anyhow. Are the amount of cutscenes per minute of gaming this bad all the way through the game? It's bad enough on story transitions but it appears there are pre-scripted cutscenes right in the middle of the action. Like when you are chasing someone and it takes control from you and shows something it thinks you need to see. Does it get better or worse as the game continues?

Ok so I decided to give this another go on my fangbook and it runs it brilliantly. Runs ultra but drops below 30 FPS on very rare occasions. So I set it to high to get it above 60 and it's pretty good. Enjoying it atm and looking forward to co op. Still prefer all the other assassins creed games but the free running is definitely improved. Cutscenes are heavy in the game but there is a fair bit of gameplay in between later on. Hoping ubisoft learn from this and improve it for the next game. Definitely need at least a 2 year gap before the next release to ensure a quality release.

What, you didn't hear about Assassin's Creed Victory releasing next year?
-
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Not to mention that for this year they had two AssCreed games (Unity and Rogue). -
I did but I was hoping that ubisoft weren't going to be money grabbing scum and release it anyway.....

Hm so I've had assassins creed unity crash a few times now. Wondering if this is a game issue or a laptop issue. I am getting high temps but I wouldn't have thought it would hang when unity is on medium when it runs fine on ultra... Might have to complain :-/

That's not a game issue, that's a game feature. -
Yea it's definitely not my laptop. I downloaded msi afterburner and put the monitoring display to work. Looking at cpu and gpu usage and temps. So I'm getting 99% usage from my gtx 970m all the time which is ok. Runs it on very high at 30fps only dipping occasionally but I like to run on high or medium to keep them much higher. Use age on the cpu is interesting. Only getting 50% usage on each core.... (Bad optimisation) and the temps never stray above 85.... So yea figured out it was the game. Have submitted a ticket to ubisoft support... Only got this game to play co op with my brother as we have been huge fans of the series since is started. I'm really pissed off at ubisoft for showing a lack of effort or simply not providing quality.
On a lighter note I've got to recommend cyberpower PCs for making s great, well priced machine. I doubted it for a second and was totally proven wrong lol.
Hopefully they fix this with patches and don't just screw us over by bringing out victory. If they bring out victory next year and don't sort out unity then I'll never buy a ubisoft game again out of pure morality
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Why do you think this is a thing? Because they know they screwed up and sold people an unfinished product; one that's so bad that many more people than normal are seeing the unfinished-ness
-
Agree pretty disgusting.... I hope they learn but tbh in today's messed up world, business and greed is trumping morality... Sad sad times

So just thought I would share this for anyone having issues with this game:
http://in2gpu.com/2014/11/14/assassins-creed-unity-performance-guide/
I've fixed my issue by turning down AA to FXAA. It appears anything higher than this first notch will eventually cause it to crash. Everything else I can put it ultra. I am getting around 50-60 FPS now and it's really enjoyable.
Hopefully this helps some of you guys
