Cool, I applied. Some jackass already has "Osco" as his username on there, so it will come from "Ozko".

 

I hope this all works out. So far only about 8 or 9 people have requested TS3 keys, and haven't seen anyone on there. I'm thinking of starting another thread dedicated to the NBR Bad Company 2 Gamer Clan or whatever. That way maybe we'll get some more people on board.

 

maybe not call it a clan and just name it NBR gaming community or NBR BC2 Group...maybe some people will get pushed away because they assume clan includes commitment/involvement

 

ATi released a hotfix for BC2 which reduces load times for 5xxx users to about 4-10 seconds. They will release a hotfix for 4xxx users next week.

Was on and off TS all lf the later part of the day today. Did not see anybody.

Got 3 hours of game time in from 7 to 10.

I think I fixed my crash issue for no disk but still got 2 CTD.

I had to unplug my media card reader, and uninstall all my disk drives and uninstall my virtual drives and so far no crash.

But yeah I need to see about finding a happy medium where I have my computer back and can still play the game.

 

Ovreagr (osco) and I were on for a couple hours this evening, about 10-12. Must ahve just missed you.

 

Yeah I got off at like 9:50 to get ready for work.

Did not have any really good games today. I though Assult class would be easy considering rifles are good all around weapons and the number of times I fell victim to the 40mm grenade launcher but in use I find myself losing most fire fights with the assult rifle. More than ones I dump a whole clip into somebody and only get 2 or 3 hits and they dont die or kill me faster.

The grenade launcher is great but a lot of times it wont detonate and if you miss the reload time means your dead if your caught. Its still great for urban maps though for buildings and things, but not as good as I thought it would be in the open. So its a tough pick to choose between explosive damage or magnum ammo or even body armor.

Same goes for perk 1, I like to use the extra grenades perk along with the exposive perk but having lightweight is really useful in almost all situations.

 

I dont feel a difference when using lightweight....Although for assault is mostly use Tube for now(I'll platinum it first then stop).

 

For me, I need as much damage as possible. I get TONS of assists. So many times I empty a clip into someone and then I see they have like 2% or 3% health left (because I die and see the kill cam), then someone else comes along and gets the kill. I *HATE* that. I do a lot of maiming, but very little killing. Just call me " the tenderizer". lol.

 

Is there a perceivable difference in aiming down the sight, or is it just for movement?

 

I notice the difference when sprinting, not walking/aiming.

It lets me move from cover to cover more quickly so it helps keep me alive. If I see an enemy just ahead of me that I cant comfortably kill rather than give away my position I can chase after him and get him up closer by supprise.

Also if somebody trys to kill me from a distance and I do not know there location it lets me get behind cover faster and stay alive better.

Not to mention how many times have you had to run from A to B? light weight helps get me there faster and thats a really good thing.

so how does game tracker know when I am in game? do I need to download the client or does it just know based on scanning servers for my name?

I am assuming I need the client and that it works similar to xfire. BTW xfire is an excellent tool I used to use it.

 

When aiming?? Your speed is decreased.

 

Yeah, there is a client. But someone showed me a slick thing that will show who's online and where, but I have to spend a little time fiddling with it. Once I get it working seems I just need to input each person's BC2 ID and it'll update automatically. And show on the clan page.

Another way is to join TS3 server and talk to people.

 

Yeah thats what I do is go on TS.

 

Does BC2 show you server info while your in-game? I know BF2 did at one point but one of the patches broke that functionality.

My whole LMG game is like that as well. Coming from COD, I initially started to play defensivley because of the size of the maps, but now I'm comfortable rushing anywhere on any map.

As soon as I get the m60, I'm sure I'll go on a vicious tear... Ha....ha....

 

No, it doesn't seem you can know what server you're on once in game. Stupid. The definitely need to add that especially since the friends list is broken.

I wish there was a site like bf2s.com for bad company 2. It was a great site for seeing friends online and what server they were on.

 

you can also make an xfire NBR group...easiest way to get hooked up with people..it has messaging, server browser, etc.

plus you can even get xfire on your iphone.. xfmobile app lol.

There is no perk that makes you pull up your sights quicker. The only perk that increases speed only increases your walking/running speed, not your reactions or reflexes. However, the red dot scope is SIGNIFICANTLY quicker and easier to pull up on the move and shoot someone. M60 with the red dot scope is sickening, it feels like cheating. Find a red triangle on your screen half way across the map with an M60 red dot scope and the guy is as good as dead.

Currently my medic setup is the M60, red dot scope, and body armor.

His accuracy seems fine, don't see how he could be a cheater. Being an m60 sure improves your k/d.

 

M60 @ 17% accuracy yet over 2000 kills. I think I found my new weapon. Hell, I'll probably increase my k/d to 0.7! LOL.

 

Man I haven't touched this game in quite a while but I remember rolling with a recon + saiga + lightweight (thanks for the idea Vicious). Man it worked out so well for me and my team, toss some motion sensors, pick a guy (or 3) off from behind, then call in a mortar.

 

Yeah its a deadly combo, make sure you use the extended shotgun magazine perk too I find it to be very important for the saiga especially if you cant manage to sneak up on them and have to fire from mid range.

 

Pagliosnarf was just removed from the leaderboards. YAY. at least the top person now is not a hacker.

Try to switch classes if somehow things dont go too well. It happens to me too. ahhaha.

I am nearing the 500 vehicles destroyed insignia. I think this is one of the hardest to get.

Yup, the core thing Vicious said to try didnt work either.

If you have a DX10 card run it in DX10, I find it doesnt crash as often or at all.

 

I got two BSOD in just the last hour :/ playing with a coworker and usapatriot.

the CTD is annoying but BSOD is a lot worse making the whole reboot process happen. Including joining TS again too.

So it must be a sign not to play right now, I'll get on tonight still.

 

I'm hoping to get on tonight too Vicious. As long as I can get my kids to bed at a decent hour. My two year old thinks he's a teenager and can stay up until midnight and sleep until 11am even though he's dead tired, lol.

I'm starting to like the recon class though. Depending on map and / or where we're at in a rush map, there's a couple good possibilities. I find the M24 is a great sniping weapon, even better than the GOL. But using the GOL periodically with the 12x zoom scope, then on respawn go with SVU short and 4x scope for up close action.

I plan on playing medic class a little bit more though so I can upgrade to the M60.

TS server works great just have to turn down the master game volume otherwise the game is way louder than the TS server.

 

i swear i got booted with windows asking to change color profiles.

 

Seems any time there is a popup the game CTD's. Mine did when Steam decided to display a window showing their specials...

Currently finishing Metro 2033 and Fragile on Wii, these games are taking there toll along with the fact that my PSU just went POOF earlier. Currently using a spare 300 watt PSU with a 5750(I wont be gaming so its fine).

 

I may take a break when Mario Galaxy 2 comes out on Wii other than that BC2 is my top game right now to want to play.

I should hook up the G27 and do some Dirt 2 racing now and then before I lose all my skill on that as well.

 

It's pretty sad. I've been a work for a few hours, and I'm just thinking about using the m60.

 

Me and patriot played some today. I did so bad. I just woke up and was talking too much. Plus we were on a hardcore server.

After that took a break and got back on and did squad deathmatch again and got almost a 2.0+ K/D ratio and one of the top 3 guys every time.

I finally just got the M16A2 and that makes it the last unlock for me so I have everything now. I planned on going back to sniper but the M16A2 is really nice, along with the M203 grenade launcher I may stick with assault as my main class for a bit longer.
