AK-74U is much better controlled and has a higher cyclic rate although SCAR-L may have more damage per bullet hit, you have to land those bullets first.

Every time I start to get sniped, I switch to recon to take out the snipers. When I'm in "revenge mode" I tend to do well. But if I'm in "attack mode" I do horribly.

Can you actually stay "zoomed in" after a shot to see it? I can't figure out how to keep my guy from automatically chambering another round and losing sight of my target. More importantly, that would be VERY helpful to see where my shots are going when I miss and adjusting the sights!

hold down the fire button and you stay scoped but you only chamber a new round if you release

Yeah this, seems to stay scoped in for me when using the Gustav when when not holding down the button kinda annoying.

Does anybody know a way to invert the y-axis for gunner seats in vehicles?

No idea about inverting gunner seat. But I was happy to have played with you a bit last night Vicious. My 1 year old woke up screaming his little head off so had to bail. Wanted to play a bit more. Darn kid. ;)

yay get on today find a good 32 man rush server, doing great again and then get the no disk crash again...

its only when I find good games and I am doing good. I can play all day on those 500 point per round crap games.... and I am serious I have never had the no disk crash on those lame games.. how strange is that?

Anyways instead of just uninstalling the game and installing it again like I did yesterday I completely deleted the cache on EA Downloader and I am downloading the game again now. I really hope this fixes it.

I am losing so many points and so much game time over these crashes, not to mention every time a small portion of my sanity.

Set up a time tonight and I'm in. 10 et?

Also, when I want to get revenge against snipers, I take out my knife. Snipers are too dirty for bullets.

Strange thing happened this morning. I was having a 5,0000 pt game and it crashed to desktop because Steam asked me if I wanted to install MW2 multiplayer.........

I was on my laptop... I was not able to play very well because I never play on my laptop and I am not used to the 1 screen and different keyboard and loss of great audio. It was nice to see you none the less but hope I can play with you for a good amount of time on my real setup.

I do not think I have had that no disk crash on the laptop though, maybe I can just copy the cache from the laptop to the desktop if I need too. I wonder if its just something to do with all my odd extras on the desktop causing a problem. Maybe it doesnt like my 6004x1200 resolution, or xfi sound card. Who knows.

EA support is a joke though, in one day my post fell to page 8 on the support forums and not a single notice by anybody.

Thanks, I will try that next time!
If you hit Escape during the game and go to options, there are a few boxes that you can check that invert the y-axis for different things... I am at work, so I can't check to see if gunner seats is one of those though.

Yeah its not it has invert look and invert fly.

Makes no sense to have only some options, it really messes me up when I get in/out of a gunner seat as im all backwards for a few minutes.

Even though I have invert fly one when I get into a chopper its still not inverted, the UAV is though so wonder if its marked incorrectly and should be unchecked, with luck maybe it inverts the guns and stuff too.

UAV flying is the exact opposite from how you set up the full size helicopters. This is a known issue and is hopefully is taken care of soon.

I'm willing to pony up for a month of a 15 person TeamSpeak 3 dedicated server (only a few bucks lol) for Bad Company 2 for NBR players. If it works out then maybe we can buy 3 or 6 or 12 months to save a few bucks, and share costs.

    What do you guys think?

Im playing so sparatic right now that I would not invest in a team speak server. If we played at regular times or had our own server it would make a lot more sense to me.

I think that somebody here probably has enough bandwidth and a spare computer and can run a small private server for voice communication for free.

But I may be the odd one out since I know I work overnight and have crazy hours, you guys may see one another more often than I do, or have more money to invest.

I could host, I already have TS2 and TS3 servers running on my Windows Home Server. I use it mainly for a handful of close friends and family when we get online to play or just chat. My issue is I don't want to broadcast my IP to everyone on the planet. It's only about ~ $4/mo if paid monthly, and at least you could connect and see if anyone else is playing at that moment.

Only $4 oh thats not bad. Still till I get my game working.... I am not going to invest in anything.

EA really ran me over today, I just started a paypal dispute. I wont be supprised to see them remove the game from my games list soon and not be able to play at all.

They want me to manually remove EADM and the reg keys associated with it and then install everything and download everything AGAIN this will take about an hour and I dont want to do it right now when I feel they will just remove the game from my service soon anyways.

Heck I will not be surprised at all if they remove the game (and possibly other games I purchased) and then not refund me on top of that.

Who knows what I should do then, so I am expecting the worse.

Ok, I went ahead and created a TeamSpeak 3 server for one month. We'll see how it goes.

I will be admin for this month since I paid for it. Plus I want to figure out how all this works. I will make all users Server Group Normal users. I chose server location of St. Louis, MO since it's somewhat central to the USA. Voice comms aren't super critical for ping, but it would be nice if we don't have super lag.

It seems TeamSpeak 3 uses one-time tokens to establish permissions and allow connections. So far I don't see a server password except unless you're a server admin. Keep in mind that these are "ONE TIME USE" tokens. Once you connect with it, it's gone, but it will basically key in your PC (or instance of TS3) to your user permissions every time you start TS3 from there on out.

*** Please read everything below CAREFULLY! ***

    Joining NBR Teamspeak 3 Server:

If you want to join the NBR TeamSpeak 3 Server you will have to meet three simple criteria in order for me to create a key for you:

    (1) PM me here @ NBR (HTWingNut) with subject something related to Bad Company 2 and Teamspeak 3 (or BC2 TS3 @ NBR, whatever - just no "hey you" subjects so I know what it is!). If you will be playing on more than one PC, then let me know how many, so I can issue you unique keys for each PC.

    (2) Join ViciousXUSMC's NBR Bad Company 2 Friend's List:
    NBR Battlefield Bad Company 2

    (3) You must be an active NBR member, and have at least contributed positively in some fashion.

Downloading, Installing, and Connecting to Teamspeak 3 NBR:

You can get TeamSpeak 3 for free at TeamSpeak - Welcome to TeamSpeak. Please click on the "Downloads" link at the top of their page (upper right). Download the proper 32 or 64-bit client depending on your OS.

When I return your PM, I will include the TS3 server address along with your "one-time token". You will use this token which will establish your permissions.

Once you start TS3, click "connect", you will type in
    - the server address
    - port number (9114)
    - your chosen user name (please use either NBR or BC2 username just to help us out thanks. :) )
    - no server password required
    - click the "more" button
    - in the "one-time token" field copy and paste the token I PM to you in that field.
    - click "connect"

The way I see this working is anyone can text or voice chat in the "Bad Company 2" channel. But once you establish who is playing where, join the appropriate "Game 1", "Game 2" , etc channel. I just don't want players playing different maps and getting confused with the cross chatter.

I'm sure there will be better ways, and enabling permissions for everyone to create their own channel, etc. But I will work that out over time.

edit: Just found out you can export your profile to save it or copy it to another PC. Just go to: Settings, Identities, Export. Then Import into your other PC.

Sweet, I'll send you a dollar later soon as I find out of my game works or not.

Nice to see it come together.

Add the rule "must use push to talk" :D

We do not want open mics that was the #1 most disastrous thing I ever experience in my use of voice chat in the past.

Well, you can adjust your activation volume level. But yeah, if it becomes an issue, I'll see if we can enforce the "push to talk" rule. I don't like it personally only because I fumble with the keys enough as it is.

Don't worry about sending money. We'll see how well it works and work something out later if it seems we will continue. Cost is minimal either way and I don't see needing it for BC2 at least, for any more than a few months.

I'll send you a key Vicious... check your PM.

Yeah tell you a secret I use one of the thumb buttons on my mouse for voice communication. The MX518 has 2 easy to hit buttons for the thumb. I always use one for my knife and the other for push to talk.

I'll see you on the server later today if we both happen to be up and online at the same time.

I use push to talk for my own safety I dont want people to hear the kids or my wife yelling lol or all my embarrassing noises I make when I die.

My wife laughs at me as I talk to myself when I really get into the game. I dont do it for any other kind of game other than online FPS.

The #1 reason why I like push to talk though is people that use speakers instead of headphones and you get horrible reverb and hear the game in the background. I play with my speakers normally but with voice I will probably use the headphones. I'll miss the subwoofer doing its thing shaking the house :D

Yeah, I use all my MX518 buttons for other things. But maybe I'll map it for VOIP.

When I want to use speakers, I hang my headphones over my neck with mic to my mouth, and just plug in the mic plug. With push to talk it should work fine. If you do it with voice activated then you get horrible feedback.

I have that handy dandy zalmans mic you have probably seen me post before. That way I can use any headphones I want rather than being limited to the choices and quality offered by traditional headsets.

So my combo is Audio Technica A700 + Zalman ZM-MIC1

If using the speakers I just take the mic off the headphone cable and put it beside my keyboard and pick it up to talk when really needed.

Quality is good, but not as good as a dedicated boom. Not because the mic is worse quality but just because its not right infront of your mouth.

I actually had plan to make a detachable boom to hold it on the A700's using some stiff wire and velcro.

He rented a TS Server for us to communicate while playing BC2.

We are using my "War Roster" aka friends list to link up in game in the same server. You can find people in the same region as yourself and thus find a local game server that has good ping for everybody.

Who knows maybe we can get a dedicated NBR server at some point, but no matter what it wouldnt be a good server for all of us due to how bad the ping seems to get on this game for a distant server and how important a good ping is.

This is a TeamSpeak 3 server ONLY. Not a game server. Just allow NBR members to try and join games together and communicate, hopefully joining the same squad or at least team.

If and when I ever get a decent job, I'd be willing to split the cost on a dedicated 24 man server. I did that for a little while for BF2. But many people didn't pony up their pay, so had to quit. And I was only asking for 50% of the server cost split among five or six other people.

thanx for setting up a ts server, just as an idea for the channels...

you should set up one main BFBC2 channel, then regional sub channels (east, West, aussie land, etc) that way when people jump in they already know where to hop in.

I thought about that idea for the channels. Problem is that you may have two people in one game together, and two people in another game together, then you'd get all the cross chatter. I'd say just meet in the main "Bad Company 2" room where it lands you when you log in, then once you establish with whom you're playing with then choose which Game room to join together.

This way you can leave TS open in the main room even if you're playing without another NBR member and if they join you can talk to them and see if they can/want to join up with you.

Ok, seems I can just password protect the server. I can do that instead if it seems easier, and then just assign a token and priveleges as needed. What do you guys think? I just don't want uninvited guests if you know what I mean?

I like the key thing, a password will probably get abused at some point. It would be just as much trouble if not more to have to send a new password to everybody when/if we have to change it for some reason as it would be to just send a key.

Also I would think you can block somebody by there key, so would make managing things easier if somebody abuses a privilege.

Yes, with a key, it allows managment of permissions. Without it, well I guess it generates one for you, but it has like zero authority.

No I never got it. I guess we can just keep sending until one of us gets it. So very weird though.

Added a count chart to the war roster. Looks like East Coast is by far the most predominate player base.

You will see it if your on a 1920 pixel wide monitor those of you with smaller resolutions may need to scroll to the right to see it.

Stupid limit. I have a close friend who's gonna buy the game so someone here's gonna get the axe. Guess I'll see who plays the least.
