I got pwned really bad last night. There was a guy with 65 kills and 20 deaths. I don't understand how anyone can get that high. The most kills I've ever got was in the high 20's and I was on fire, killing everything that moved.

I did get shot out of the air last night, parachuting into the LZ. One shot, one Bot, I think. I've been able to hit people but never kill them. Has anyone else killed someone legit with one shot on a parachute drop?

 

Yes, quite a few times actually.

 

Well you are a better shot than I. I have hit parachuters with the M95 with high damage rounds and not killed anyone.

 

I have also many times with the M60 and LMG 88, Saiga and XM8 Assault.

With just one shot? You mean you didn't spray them with bullets? I've been one shot killed lots while parachuting too. No spray, just a single shot from an M60 or other gun.

 

I've been killed once maybe twice while dropping in, but it was by no means one shot, rather it was lots of spraying.

 

My best was 77-20 search for it in this thread.

It is, but it's not the norm game in and game out. I still need to know what the magic formula is for getting so many kills and also for those that continuously have good hit detection. Because when my crosshairs are on the enemy and they get hit and actually die, I get a great k/d. Otherwise it's usually 40mm or hand grenade at their feet, dozen shots in their head, and then they kill me with their handgun and walk away with 80% health.

 

Oh one shot? Those floating bullet absorbing cushions? No way, I guess I misread. I gotta nail them repeatedly over and over before they die.

 

I rarely experience the hit detection problems you describe, probably because i only usually play on servers that say i have 1 ping. The most notable however, is when i try to stab a player that has a high ping, it usually takes like 3-4 stabs, but otherwise normal players die with one stab.

 

Many kills is much easier to obtain by playing in the longest matches possible, which are Rush rounds. If each M-Com siege lasts until almost the very last ticket, you can have some VERY high scoring games. Also, 32 person maps have a lot more charlies for kill opportunities, the converse is also true, so it makes it even more challenging.

Yeah, my best is usually 15/16 sometimes go with 30/31 and in game from 90 to 120 ping.

 

Yea in the server browser i frequently see like the first 20 or so servers are like 1 ping for me. They are all probably in the NYC area so that would explain the low latency, and in game it says like 60 - 70 i think. However, this works against me sometimes as it seems the game favors high pingers.

 

All I play is Rush matches with no less than 28 players. I can't get over 30 kills. Probably my M17 holding me back. But I haven't been looking for low ping servers as much as I have just been looking for not empty/not full.

I did have a question about rush matches. I don't see the ticket counter everyone talks about in rush matches. Normally the game just ends and I'm like, woah that was quick. Where do you look to see the tickets? On the HUD? Or is it on the map? This should be something I should know, but I've never seen it. I'm too busy dying.

 

I only play on maps with 16 players now. I really disdain matches with more players, just one giant aggravation of of gustav and sniper losers.

I don't know why, but I've found with less players, there are is almost no camping, no gustav losers, and people just plain PLAY in squad mode instead of sitting there watching their K/D.

The fun is increased 1000%

 

***Battlefield Story***

I just had a 19-0 round on Africa Harbor rush as a tank operator. The enemy destroyed the first two MCOM's so I retreated with the tank down to the second set of points and in-between the the orange house near A. I then proceeded to blow up that orange house so the enemy team could not use it against us. My team always rages when I do this but it's for the best. If not the opposing team starts getting in there and spawning in it since it's their nearest cover.

Anyways I demolished enemy players coming down the usual route by the orange house near A.

***Battlefield Tip***

When playing attackers on Africa Harbor you can use the tank as artillery to destroy the first set of MCOM stations. I use the extra zoom specialization so I can sight in my cannon. Then I destroy A and B by dropping rounds on them.

It can take a little while before you're on target, but once you are, bye bye MCOM's. Some call it a cheap tactic, but it works and gets through that boring first stage of Africa Harbor.

 

Yeah you played cheap IMO. It's one of the things I don't like about BC2

I'd like to find a few servers with no tanks and Gustavs. I know they are out there, gotta find em though.

 

It works and I got the points. The enemy team could have countered by using the tracer dart.

 

I don't think there is a way to play "cheap". Killing the enemy is killing the enemy. It doesn't matter how you do it. We can't all be assault soldiers running around with the same weapon. That's lame. It does suck when everyone is sniping. But it also sucks when everyone is a medic because they just keep healing and advancing. No matter how you look at it, every class has its exploits. Nothing about this game mimics reality or fair play. If you can find an advantage in the game that others can't, exploit it. As long as it is within the intent of the game. No aimbots or other cheating not yet discovered.

 

Which map is Africa Harbor? Thought I'd played them all...

 

Ah, wait, it's Arica Harbour, not Africa Harbor.

 

points are in the map. If you're on hard core I don't think you can see it.

 

The only maps with no tanks are conquest Arica Harbor and rush Nelson Bay. White Pass has the one tank, but it takes ages to respawn after it's destroyed. Also, the only way you'll play with no Gustavs is unranked because DICE won't allow limiting weapons on ranked. You can look forward to at least no tanks with infantry only mode if the patch is ever released.

 

You mis-understood. There are many servers where use of tanks and gustavs are banned, strictly infantry battles.

 

And if it's ranked they run the risk of getting reported and being shut down. I don't care either way, but I'm just saying that's how it is.

Yup. Everything on low at 720p, 17-40 fps. I don't play much anymore since last patch. Hit reg has been more iffy and often feel like I'm moving as fast as molasses.

Wow, congrats. I still have yet to do better than a 3:1 kill ratio and have more than 25 kills in one round.

 

My best would be 9.5 KD 19:2. This would probably a medic and a eng no sniper.

Highest kill would be 57 in a round. I have screenshots.

i give up on this game for a while. being blown up 5000 times in a row by 40mm Grenade and Carl Gustav is no fun.

 

What's even worse fun is being blown up by those, but your own 40mm and CG do little to no damage.

 

What class were you that you got 77 kills? How many points did you end up with in that round? Must have been promoted 2 or 3 times during 1 game...LOL

 

Hass anyone else even played half the time u have? :S

 

You'd be surprised to know that there are MANY more people that has much more playtime than Mew has done.

Just check the leader boards.

I was playing assault with AN94 + Magnum. I leveled up once haha.

 

When my m17x arrives, will definatly joining you guys. Specs below look okay for BFBC2 @ 1920x1200 max settings? (maybe a little AA)

 

If you're running at native res, no need for AA really. I wouldn't bother because that'll affect your frame rates for what little benefit you'll get out of it.

 

Yeah, AA is not even noticeable until you put it up to 4x or 8x in BC2.

 

Last night had a 19-0 record as a sniper (and i came in late). The best part of this match was when i killed 6 players with one mortar strike, it was epic.

 

I can only ever kill, one maybe two with mortar. Everyone seems to survive. Although today there was a group of enemies hanging around a huge explosive fuel tank. I just 40mm grenaded the tank and KABOOM! four deaths. LOL. Well, triple kill then one pop from my SMG to get the fourth. I got a 12-4 then. I just can never seem to get the spectacular kills everyone else does for some reason.

 

My desktop decide to tank it last night, won't be playing for about two weeks. Hopefully when I'm back up and running the patch will have been released.
